How about procuring Chinese J-6s, J-7s, J-8s FBC-1s and Q-5s to augment our Air Force?

Wouldn't it be safer to procure equipment from a country with which we have a defense pact?

We pay a premium for US equipment for a reason. The Chinese are still relatively new to the aircraft manufacturing game, and even have to procure engines from Russia.

The Chinese-made bullpups are rather . . . interesting. However, I wouldn't want to strain our logistical chain with unfamiliar equipment.

Here's my research paper: declassified among peers in Canadian Association for Security and Intelligence Studies.

Current Millitary Modernization and Strategic Debate

"Shishi shang, zhenglun youyu mei yi heyong shuyu Mao minzu zhangzheng zai xiandaide zhangzheng ru bing bushi wanquande jijing. Dang de shihou yixie iaoniande junrende dailing pinfande xuancheng nage jiashi zhansheng ouran mingtian, Zhongguo budongde zai sheng xuruode mian he ruci mei yi PLA bixu zuo de shi zu bei dazhang minzu zhangzheng yonghu yuanzhu shuyu kuai minbing he youyiduiyuan lilang"1...... (declassified portion)

"As a matter of fact, debate over the applicability of Mao's people's warfare in modern war has not been completely silenced. While some senior military leaders continually claimed that war happen tommorrow,China would still be on the weak side and thus the PLA should be prepared to fight a people's war with the assistance of the mass militia and guerilla forces, etc."1-CHINESE MILITARY THEORY, Chen -Ya Tien (reference)
"Provocation is a valid defense against homicide"- Canadian Law on MSantor who 'cough, cough..', passes by my company room with a cup of coffee, waits for me in the bus shelter together with his friends and provoke me, and has been stalking me in forums like army.ca, navy.ca, timawa.net, militaryforums.com... China's LPD is currently undergoing sea trials - this ship now gives our giant neighbor the capability to project power beyond its coastline, the KIG and Palawan is now more vulnerable than ever:

Yup, it's a helo carrier and more - it will also be able to carry a BN of ChiCom Marines and assault craft.

Its bad news especially if the Chinese will be able to build more than 10 of those.

That ship looks big, what is the Chinese designation?

We're way too pre-occupied with too much politicking and the NPA and Islamofascist dimwits our neighbors are simply marching into the future while we are but stuck in mud. goodness gracious! we could not even stop a ChiCom submarine from spying inside Philippine waters! :headbang:

according to the guys at mpnet, this ship is almost as big as the US San Antonio class LPD at 20,000 tons estimate - this dwarfs Singapore's Endurance class which only displaces 6,000 tons :armyeek: with this ship, China is showing to the rest of the regional naval powers that its serious in its attempt to build a blue water navy.
