Based on those pics, there is really some serious discussions about the capability of our Philippines Navy ships and also some bird-view detail information on Subic Bay...

Wonder how were they able to get a CLOSE_UP pics of our ships as if one of the PN sailors are working for PLAN....

Scary.:scared: It goes deep in my bones. The government should do something, I mean now! They must stop their foolishness and corruption, so that we can buy the military equipments we need. This concern should be taken seriously by the government.

No need to over-react, we're exactly doing the same in a lot of internet forums, besides if the information listed in that site contrains valuable intelligence then it shouldn't be there in the first place.

You guys... as if you're not talking about them as well. :drunk:

Remember, anything you post in the internet is public. So if you're a wannabee military, anything sensitive, do what the military does. :aberet:

i don't think chinese mainland people has the liberty to talk about that in the internet, google was even blocked out sometimes, i am assuming they are from hong kong and they are talking about the british ships from former british colony hong kong. now that those ships where already donated to the philippines and so on.

Reformist,

Well the characters used in this particular forum are Simplified Chinese characters (jian ti zi), only used in the mainland, although schools in Hong Kong have begun teaching Simplified characters since the 1997 handover, from what I hear.

Taiwan, Hong Kong and Singapore, as well as all overseas Chinese communities around the world, use what are called Traditional characters (fan ti zi), which are similar to the Classical Chinese characters used during the Imperial dynasties that ruled China for centuries.

The Simplified system, of characters, used only in mainland China, were one way the PRC government could use to help further isolate their Guomindang enemies on Taiwan.

From what I read and most of the rhetoric used after quickly skimming it, they seem to be more mainlanders just discussing the Spratleys/South China Sea/"Nan Hai Dao" issue.

Also if you've ever actually accessed the internet within China, people are pretty much free to surf the internet, except if they come across a website which the PRC government sees as subversive or with political content that they may see as a threat to their authority, such as the Falun Gong website, in which case a firewall/the censor goes up. The screen goes green for a few moments and then you get an error message, IIRC.

And yes, there have been media blackouts recently like the one that occurred during the 20th anniversary of the Tiananmen Square massacre , but during regular weeks, for the sake of keeping business going, people still have access to various forms of media and foreign websites, except those with political content which may be censored.

But other than that, the internet is a necessary medium for international commerce and transactions.
