One of Duterte's weaknesses is going to be foreign policy. Did you guys watched the debate yesterday? The questions were serious and he was just clowning around and being superficial. Ang bababaw ng mga sagot nya lalo na sa WPS issue.
I watched it as well, maybe that's because he's 85% China funded.. Kita mo ang sagot ng tinanong kung sino ang kanyang major campaign financier, tapos ang sagot niya si "Emilio Aguinaldo?" Bagay nga kasi isang huwad na Bayani, na syang nagpapatay kay Gen. Luna. :drunk: WPS is compromised together with AFPM under DUDirty. :dunno:

SORRY, PERO mga G+go lang talaga ang mga Pilipino na boboto dito sa tao na ito.. SAD TO SAY MARAMI SILA. But, a simple question for a person running to LEAD the Country, the Republic of the Philippines, deserve an intelligent, honest and dignified "ANSWER.."

FYI: YUNG SIMBOLO NG KANYANG "TAAS KAMAO" AY SIMBOLO NG ISANG "KOMUNISTA!"

FILIPINOS WAKE UP!!! :headbang:

MANY MADE THE WRONG CHOICE when they voted or supported PNoy.. IT WILL BE MUCH MUCH WORSE AND LOTS OF VIOLENCE W/O DUE PROCESS IN JUSTICE UNDER DU30.

I Would go for MDS-BBM2016. :patrioticpinoy:

Kung ano basta lumusot lang si BBM sa VP, kasi tingin ko siya lang ang may kaya o di kaya ni DU30 takotin o banggain.. para may proper na Exec Official pa rin ang Pilipinas.

IMHO, the big difference between mar and duterte is that mar is politically clueless when it comes to debates. his style together with Poe's style will only appeal to analysts, highly educated and intellectuals. duterte's style is designed to get the votes of the masses. Remember, all politician's words are just fluff and hot air, just like a salesman. Instead what is of greater susbtance and more useful for evaluating who to vote for is their track record or accomplishments, their leadership style, etc who among the candidates will not be intimidated by the bluster of the communist bully or local political blocs. Actions speak louder than words. as for my choice, my preference is in the following order: duterte, poe, roxas but no binay. I'll be ok with either duterte or poe and maybe roxas as third choice but never binay.

The question now is will the following forecast happen ??

Apr 24, 2016 , Forbes magazine excerpt
End Of De Facto Dynastic Rule? Philippine Voters Set To Elect Duterte

Ralph Jennings ,

For 50 years Philippine voters have picked members of a few families to run the country. Presidents and senators keep springing from surnames such as Aquino, Arroyo, Estrada and Marcos. Yet since the 1960s, despite its strengths such as tourism and a boom in call centers, about a quarter of the population lives in poverty and its corruption ranks world No. 95 out of 168 on Transparency International’s corruption perceptions index. People feel fatigued as well now by a drug problem, as the United Nations said in 2012 their country had Asia’s highest use of methamphetamine strain known colloquially as “shabu.”

Following the lead of other countries fed up with political establishments, Filipinos are poised to elect an outsider to national politics. He’s Rodrigo Duterte, mayor of the country’s second largest city Davao. Duterte says he has cleaned up that city, a 1980s stronghold for communist rebels and a rightist vigilante group.

Duterte has consistently backed appealing to China over the KIG. This from long before his candidacy:

June 26, 2011

Davao City Vice Mayor Rodrigo Duterte is planning to visit China to appeal for an understanding from the powerful nation over the disputed Spratlys island which is being claimed by several Asian countries.

In his television program “Gikan sa Masa,Para sa Masa” on Sunday, Duterte said that since Davao City has an existing sisterhood city pact with Nanning in China, he will make his appeal before the Nanning officials first with the hope that the appeal would reach the central government of China. ...

“We cannot afford to go to war. America who vows to help us in our fight is so far away. What will be the point in inviting the armor of another nation to fight the armor of China?,” Duterte said. ...

“If this is going to be a hacking war, then we might have a chance. But if it's an armor to armor, we are no match. We do not want any war. War posturing is not the fad now. Much better if we seek the help of the UN Security Council,” Duterte said.

The vice mayor also reminded China of the historical ties between them and the Philippines. He said it is better for China to help the poor country of the Philippines rather than threaten it with war.

“China must also realize that we Filipinos need their help.We do not want to go to war. You are already a rich nation. Why should you pick on a small nation like the Philipppines?. We love China. China never had the history of invading lands,” he said.

CNN

The above reveals not just naivette, but outright ignorance:

-- "help of the UN Security Council" -- China is a permanent member, with veto power, ergo ...

-- "We love China. China never had the history of invading lands" -- :lollol: Ask the Koreans, Tibetans, and Vietnamese how accurate this statement is

Perhaps more disturbing, the perception Duterte is a weakling on whom the bully's tactics achieve their desired effect ... not yet in office but already spouting the language of defeatism

duterte is no doubt a high risk choice for voters as he has the potential to make the most drastic changes in the philippines among the candidates- changes that can drag us either down or up or both. Poe, on the other hand is a safer choice than duterte. Roxas is my 3rd choice. Binay is a no-go zone :)

Duterte blames Aquino for reclamation activities in West PH Sea | Inquirer - May 7th, 2016
Quote:

During his miting de avance at Luneta, Duterte said Aquino ordered Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV to do back channel negotiations with China at the height of the Philippines’ maritime dispute with the giant nation.

The tough-talking mayor said the President stopped former Navy officer Nicanor Faeldon from going to Scarborough Shoal in 2011 so as not to preempt the negotiations done by Trillanes.

Faeldon followed the orders of Aquino.

Duterte questioned Trillanes for travelling to China 16 times.

He said after Trillanes’ negotiations and series of travels, China started its reclamation on the shoal.

Old Article from philstar dated September 22, 2012
Quote:

Breaking his silence since the issue erupted, Aquino revealed Trillanes called and offered to be the country’s backroom negotiator to China at the height of the shoal standoff.

“What I recall was Senator Trillanes called me up and I learned he was in China at that time and said he was approached there, asking him on the possibility that he would act as backchannel negotiator,” Aquino told reporters in a chance interview here.

Aquino though did not mention who had approached Trillanes, and the senator has not mentioned any specific Chinese official either.

Aquino recalled that at the height of the standoff, there seemed to be “belligerence” on the side of Beijing, where talks through diplomatic channels apparently bogged down, prompting him to avail of Trillanes’ offer.

“In the absence of any other channels that were existing beforehand, and to peacefully resolve the situation in Panatag Shoal, so what could we stand to lose if we avail of what was being offered and listen to them? So that’s what happened,” he explained.

Dear Mayor Duterte, pls disclose what you told Chinese officials

On Saturday evening, Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte practically accused President Benigno Aquino III and Senator Antonio Trillanes of selling out to China. He vowed to investigate the role played by both officials in the loss of Scarborough Shoal to China.

What Duterte hasn’t told his supporters, though – including his new-found senatorial candidate Rafael Alunan – is that in early October 2015, Duterte was visited by the newly appointed Chinese Consul General Song Ronghua plus four other Chinese officials from the Chinese consulate in Cebu.

The visit came before the start of the filing for candidacy for the presidency and other national elective positions. ...

Duterte said on April 15: “We will not insist on the ownership for the simple reason that we cannot enforce our desire to own.”

This reminds me of what the late foreign Secretary Raul Manglapus told female overseas contract workers at the height of the Iraq-Kuwait war when they faced sexual assault – that they might as well lie back and enjoy the rape since anyway it can’t be prevented.
God grant me the courage not to give up what I think is right even though I think it is hopeless.

If he wins, let's see if he is not the one liable for treason. His pronouncements could be considered treasonous under Justice Carpio's interpretation of the issue.

Duterte tells Obama Philippines may seek bilateral talks with China on South China Sea spat | straitstimes
Quote:

He said Mr Obama advised him to wait for a ruling, due in weeks, from a United Nations arbitration court on a case the Philippines filed challenging China’s claims to nearly all of the South China Sea.

<snipped>

Mr Duterte, who will be sworn into office on June 30, earlier said he intends to continue backing multilateral efforts – including Asean’s own initiatives – to settle disputes with China.

But he also repeated a campaign pledge to hold direct talks with China, if other negotiations falter in two years.

He has suggested he is willing to set aside Manila’s claims if China agrees to build railways across the Philippines and join in exploring for resources in contested waters.
