Chinese troops to seize Zhongye Island back from the Philippines in 2014
POSTED BY CHANKAIYEE2 ⋅ JANUARY 11, 2014

The following report is a translation from Chinese media. The views do not necessarily reflect those of China Daily Mail.

Relying on US support, the Philippines is so arrogant as to announce in the New Year that it will increase its navy and air force deployment at Zhongye Island, a Chinese island that it has illegally occupied for years.

It will be an intolerable insult to China

According to experts, the Chinese navy has drawn a detailed combat plan to seize the island and the battle will be restricted within the South China Sea.

The battle is aimed at recovery of the island stolen by the Philippines from China.

There will be no invasion into Filipino territories.

A report in the Philippines Star confirmed the Philippines military buildup on the island.

An article well worth reading while you're seating someplace "comfy" in the morning.

If it wasn't for this indecisive administration, the GRP would have 2 Maestrales missile frigates and a squadron of F-16s by now to face off the REAL Chinese threat.

Pag-Asa should be turned to our frontline fortification: ass some land-based anti-ship missiles along with air-defense systems. Also add the capability to lay some mines around the area to make sure the ChiCom won't be able to come close.

pwde bang gamitin ng pangulo ang kanyang Emergency powers just to speed up the aquisition of the proposed shore based missile or any available defense variables just to contain this kind of threat? or asa na lng ke Uncle sam?

@Mr. Vermonter - you are right.

Although I believe the writer has just had one too many cups of coffee... Despite the obvious rhetoric and designed to "rattle your cages", it's best to get ready.

On a side note - There is a disclaimer.

I myself wouldn't warn you if I am coming with hostile intent.

It is my hope that Pag-asa will be defended like Iwo Jima or Tarawa at the least.

If you've been watching the news lately, you would see that Aquino is hesitant, if not outright disgusted, with the decision to use "Emergency Powers". Practicality aside, I do think this comes out from a certain psychological standpoint; think, if you would have been given a power that loosens your legal bindings (if not outright cancels them), then what's to stop you from abusing it? Aquino is frightened to become what he loathes the most; a mirror-image of the Martial law-era Ferdinand Marcos.

Anyway, China is still on its tactic of scaring their enemies and hope for their enemy to become scared.

Either that, or China has become egotistic as to report their plans, thinking that the Philippines wouldn't be able to do anything against it and America would remain complacent. Kinda reminds me of The Bear and the Dragon.

The Chinese Gov't has denied it already and said that what the article says does not represent the Government's views. Something to that effect.

However, always wise to be ready.

I hope the AFP leadership have planned deep strikes into Mainland China as a preemptive move before and after the Chicoms attacks the Philippines. Learn from the Israelis and Us. Give the world's parasites a bloody nose before they eat your food again.

This would be a dream.

We don't even have any medium-range missiles yet. How are we supposed to strike mainland China? Unless you are speaking of some death commandos, of course, but their effectivity would be highly questionable.
