The 'nerve' of these Chinese.

It's a dangerous play. Why?

- The current Philippine president's unpredictability and resolve to get things done.

I don't like him, but why do I get the feeling that this president will not back down?

- He's tenacious as a badger and does things unconventionally.
- He's fiery temperament when he get's pushed.

Are the Chinese going a step to far with this one?

- I fear, yes.
- This president doesn't like to be told what to do. Especially by them Yanquis.
- I don't think that pansy Obama can throw a leash on him, more so even try to put one on him.

Or maybe his 'big talk', bravado, and chest thumping will scare the Chinese altogether.

Scary thing is (I shamelessly admit) that I don't want to be wrong on this one.

Sad to say, the president does not possess strong political principles and its all a matter of personal appreciation and timing.

So he can be tough one day and cotton mouth the next, depending on the weather and on what is offered before him.

China maybe a bully but they have invested in science as well... all science that is, including PSYCHOLOGY.

Case in point: China will be PEPPERING the president with different accolades to setup his mood. I guess one weakness of a narcissist is recognitions, awards, externalization of personal glory. The president might be ready to bring back that personal accolade as a bigger accomplishment than having to bring home aid or investments. But fear not, China is ready too to provide investment.

China plays only on the president alone. They even removed Fidel V Ramos on the equation as the president's personal envoy to China. Ramos was sticking a point perhaps on sovereignty, as discussed by the recent National Security Council meeting where all previous president met Duterte in Malacanan precisely to discuss the West Phil Sea issue.

China strongly believes that whatever hard positions it has that they can manipulate and soften it a bit, perhaps, if they deal directly and play with Dutraydor.

They are playing it so well: Duterte claiming nobody's helping his war on drugs, not even US. China will come to help and builds rehab facility.
The meeting in Beijing would really require that China must play it very well for Duterte. And the agenda is to make Duterte look good in all front; to make Duterte look good and correct in defying the US, to make the Philippine economy recover from lost investment by China entering our local market, providing opportunity for greater trade. But that will be the façade, and we might not know in the nearest time what's really at stake and what will be permanently lost.

Super LIKE! :specool:

Best describes everything.. "Kiss sabayHug" Although mas ok sana kung "TiyoPaeng Mo ko!"

After all, he prefers Chinese Cockburger more, than Hamburger..? :dunno:

They would rather get spare change, than the legal truth that's rightfully for the Philippines and the Filipinos. NO AMOUNT OF MONEY, INVESTMENTS, MILITARY DEALS, TREATY Coming from China, can compensate PH's Legal rights, EEZ territories etc. in the WPS.

Duterte: Filipinos may soon be back at Panatag | Inquirer.net - October 24, 2016

“We did not talk about arms, we did not talk about war. We talked about how to help each other,” Mr. Duterte said in his speech in Cagayan.

Blockade over?

It was not immediately clear if that meant China had given an indication it would end its four-year blockade of the rich fishing ground known to Filipinos as Panatag Shoal.

< snipped >

Two Chinese sources with ties to the leadership in Beijing told Reuters last week China would consider giving Philippine fishermen conditional access to disputed waters in the South China Sea after a meeting between Xi and Mr. Duterte.

Duterte admits agreeing to truce with China on sea disputes | GMA news - October 23, 2016 5:04pm

In his speech in supertyphoon-hit Isabela province, Duterte said that he insisted during his meeting President Xi Jinping that the Philippines owns of the disputed shoal citing the Permanent Court of Arbitration's ruling last July.

Duterte said, however, that the Chinese leader insisted his country has historical rights over the disputed territories in the Souch China Sea.

TiyoPaeng Mo ko!" Definition: TiyoPa is a word that comes from the Spanish word CHUPA, this Spanish word (Chupa) was handed down thru generations but originally came from the spanish conquistadores. They taught other things to their Native Filipina girlfriends aside from the Catholic Faith, perhaps to ease the loneliness of being at sea in a Galleon for the months trip from Spain to the Philippines. But it seems like time has erased the memories of the conquistadores on every Filipino males mind, except for this practice which has proven to endure for centuries. It surely has outlasted the Spanish Empire. and some people in this forum believe that DU30 has personally offered this service to Xi Jin Ping.
