In view of our limited capacity in terms of military option, one of the few effective actions that we can use to protect Ayungin Shoal is to play the PR card game against the Chinese to our advantage. For as long as we can attract the international community’s attention thru media of further Chinese incursion or aggression in Ayungin Shoal, it will at least make it costly to them PR wise in the eye of the international community. By leaking surveillance photo and videos of actual Chinese incursions/movements in the WPS thru local and international news media, it may deter them in making aggressive move that will picture them as the aggressor and bully in the eye of the international community. The Chinese also know that such bad publicity will only internationalize this issue which is their greatest Achilles ills. In this chess game, the attention of the international community is the mortal enemy of the Chinese in their grand plan to grab the entire South China Sea. However, this shall require an efficient surveillance and early detection system by our military in the WPS that will preempt any aggressive action by the PLA against our troops station in Ayungin Shoal. I just hope that the government is wise enough in equipping our troops there with early detection, surveillance and communication equipment 24/7 to detect and preempt any attempt by the Chinese to grab Ayungin Shoal thru timely media publicity of their aggressive behavior. |

Esteemed Moderators. I have noticed that there isn't a single thread pertaining to the BRP Sierra Madre and Ayugin shoal. They seem to be scattered around. To make posting and searching easier. Would it be possible to merge all them into one thread?
A presentation with videos and photographs worth seeing. Edited by Hong Nam, Oct 25 2013, 11:52 PM.

Guys, the link above is a very good must read with video presentations of Pag-asa Island and inside BRP Sierra Madre. The article itself is an eye-opener of what's been happening behind the media scenes. |

Yes, it's an eye opener. I find it ironic how local news services weren't able to make a presentation as good as this one. |
