Interesting! An extremely long hibernation interrupted by a gripe. I guess nothing is better than to bitch and moan after a long sleep. Although we'd prefer a "little" reading before you'd start shooting off.

THis is different from Scarborough because there is a permanent boot presence on the Reef.

It is just like the Senkaku Islands , the Chinese can sail all they want , it is the Japan who formally own it.

^^ monitoring again and again.. ano ba talaga mga inutil na nakaupo jan!!! ano na! nakakasawa na ang balita na ganyan!!!
I really hate it when people don't read back.

Mister, how do you suppose we should do, send our ships and be blown to kingdom come?

I have repeated this statement many times in person, and this might be the first time I'll say it here;

WE.WILL.NOT.GIVE.CHINA.A.REASON.FOR.WAR.

Shameful it may be, it is better than loosing all of the limited pieces we have for nothing. Your anger is not misplaced, dear forumer, but the reason most probably is.

Sending in our ships to make our presence felt is far more more different than coming in with blazing guns. Just like what the PN did in the 2nd Thomas Shoal. They did not fire a shot but manuever to prevent the Chinese ships from establishing a structure. Sending in ships to prevent what happened in Scarborough is not a reason for war.

We need to keep sending ships to the Sierra Madre. Let the Chicoms moan and complain so long as they don't touch or threaten our ships being sent there. If they do we'll complain for systematic sea blockade and navigational impediment in the Spratly's. US said that they will not tolerate any change of status quo right? Therefore, we pass on the problem to the US and let us see if they stand on their statement.
Let us be cool, calm and collected. Let the Chicoms fire the first shot. Let us go on our business ways of going around supplying and checking our troops.

Takeover of Ayungin Shoal Feared

http://www.malaya.com.ph/index.php/news/nation/32771-takeover-of-ayungin-feared

Details: Published on Wednesday, 05 June 2013 00:00 Written by VICTOR REYES

A MILITARY official yesterday said the continued presence of Chinese ships at the Ayungin (Second Thomas) Shoal could be a prelude to China’s possible takeover even as he disclosed that a third Chinese maritime surveillance ship (CMS) was monitored at the shoal as of Monday. Last week, only two CMS ships were seen at the shoal, one of the nine areas in the Spratlys occupied by Filipino troops. The shoal is about 120 nautical miles from Rizal town in Palawan and well within the country’s 200-mile exclusive economic zone.“They are recalcitrant,” the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said of the Chinese.Their objective is to establish foothold (at Ayungin Shoal), the way they did at Mischief Reef...It can be gleaned from their action in protesting and demanding the removal of our grounded ship (at the shoal), the source said.

About two weeks ago, the Department of Foreign Affairs announced it has filed a diplomatic protest against China after monitoring 30 fishing vessels, escorted by a Chinese Navy frigate and two CMS ships, at the shoal last May 8.Mischief Reef, locally known as Panganiban Reef, is about 130 nautical miles from Palawan and formerly used by fishermen for shelter during inclement weather. It was occupied by China in 1995 and later turned by the Chinese into a military fortress. The Philippine Navy ship that China wants removed from Ayungin Shoal is the landing ship tank BRP Sierra Madre which ran aground at the shoal in 1999. The ship serves as the barracks of the Filipino troops manning the shoal.

It will be easier for them to occupy, the official said in the event BRP Sierra Madre is removed from the shoal. But since Philippines is insisting that this (BRP Sierra Madre) will not be removed and we are not going to remove it actually, they may resort to other actions other than awaiting the removal (of BRP Sierra Madre and the troops inside it), he said.As to the other option of China, the official said: Establish foothold, they are going to set foot even if we are there. They’ve been complaining against our Navy vessel there, they are demanding that it be removed from the area.

They are complaining and they are asking the PN to remove Sierra Madre ship because they can't harass it. why because it is already grounded in the shoal. :lollol: :headbang:

If they set their foot at Ayungin shoal, it is definitely a different story... :fire:

Now their cabbage story will rotten now. we already in position...just drop a supplies thru C-130 so that their ships can't harass our logistic ships. :brrt:

Why send our military (PN) ships when PCG could do the same work and not be provocative and destabilizing?

MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine defence secretary says his country sent fresh troops and supplies to a Philippine-occupied shoal in the disputed South China Sea where Chinese ships recently established a presence.

Defence Secretary Voltaire Gazmin said Wednesday that a small contingent of Filipino marines was sent to replace troops at the Second Thomas Shoal early this week.

The Filipino troops are stationed in a rusty Philippine hospital ship that ran aground in 1999 on the shallow coral outcrop and has since become an awkward symbol of Philippine sovereignty.

The Philippines protested last month the entry of a Chinese warship and maritime surveillance vessels to the area in a new territorial standoff between the Asian nations.

To avoid criticism, write nothing, say nothing, do nothing, BE NOTHING.

China condemns PH's 'illegal occupation' of Ayungin
By: Reuters
June 21, 2013 6:54 PM

BEIJING -- China condemned on Friday what it called the "illegal occupation" of a disputed coral reef by the Philippines, and vowed to protect its sovereignty after Manila moved new soldiers and supplies to the remote location.

The Second Thomas Shoal, known in China as the Ren'ai reef and by the Philippines as Ayungin, is at the center of the latest territorial dispute between Beijing and Manila. Both countries have been locked in a decades-old territorial squabble over the South China Sea, which Manila calls the West Philippine Sea.
