Chinese with NGCP told to leave by July Philippine Star - 8 hours ago Chinese nationals working at the National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP) may stay in the country only until July after Philippine security officials raised concerns on their presence in the transmission company. Concerns have been raised since last year on the presence of Chinese technical experts at NGCP on the back of ongoing geopolitical tensions between China and the Philippines. NGCP was given a transition period until July 2015 for the Chinese experts to train their Filipino counterparts. Only two Chinese board members will remain but all the Chinese technical experts will leave by July. – Irish Gonzales Philstar / Yahoo Edited by Hong Nam, Feb 25 2015, 05:01 PM.

There is a lot of Chinese nationals in the Business sectors who are well connected to Philippine officials in National and local level. Some are in the Mining sector but most are suppliers to national and local government. I knew some that do business with our Military on office supplies for the offices of our Armed Forces command centers. They can easily enter any military camps. They might as well cease doing business with them. |

US: China is expanding its South China Sea outposts Associated Press By MATTHEW PENNINGTON WASHINGTON (AP) — China is expanding its outposts in the South China Sea to include stationing for ships and potential airfields as part of its "aggressive" effort to exert sovereignty, the U.S. intelligence chief said Thursday. Director of National Intelligence James Clapper was speaking at a Senate Armed Services Committee hearing on worldwide threats. His comments underscore U.S. concern over land reclamation activities that could fuel tensions between China and its neighbors over disputed islands and reefs. US sends spy plane to patrol disputed sea By Alexis Romero (The Philippine Star) | Updated February 28, 2015 - 12:00am MANILA, Philippines - The United States has deployed its newest and most advanced surveillance aircraft for patrols over the West Philippine Sea and South China Sea. The P-8A Poseidon aircraft completed more than 180 flight hours from Feb. 1 to 21 from Clark Air Base, according to the US Navy’s 7th Fleet. The US Navy said the flights sought to “strengthen maritime partnerships in the Indo-Asia-Pacific.” US sends spy plane to patrol disputed sea The Philippine Star should do a little more research. This article was a headline in their web page yet the picture was that of a UAV instead of a P-8A Poseidon. |

Go figure... It doesn't really take much, does it? Either it's just plain old laziness or just stupidity.

McCain Points To ‘Dramatic Change’ In Chinese-Built Islands By COLIN CLARK on February 26, 2015 ![]() Fiery Cross Reef (Kagitingan Reef) in the Spratly Islands. Credit: CSIS WASHINGTON: What began with a tiny artificial island built by China to stake a concrete claim in the South China Sea is fast on its way to becoming 600 acres of at least seven islands spread across the South China Sea. One of the most impressive is so-called Fiery Cross Island, the permanent structure above complete with an air strip and, perhaps, the ability to permanently station advanced weapon systems there to patrol the skies and seas. Sen. John McCain made a point of asking Director of National Intelligence James Clapper about the Chinese actions just before the end of this morning’s Senate Armed Services Committee hearing on worldwide threats, calling the Chinese actions “a rather dramatic change.” DNI Clapper told the SASC “this is a worrisome trend of the Chinese because of the tensions this is going to create in the South China Sea. They have been very aggressive about it.” The biggest worry about these efforts by the Chinese is that they could base advanced aircraft and ships at some of these locations, trying to enforce their so-called Nine-Dash Line claiming most of the South China Sea. That would grant them the presumptive ability to block international shipping in an area every other country in the region — including the United States — says are international waters. It would also provide China much greater range to project power through the region. Breaking Defense |
