China continues building 'fixed aircraft carrier' inside PH territory by Ruser Mallari 14/08/2014 Amid Philippine government's call for construction freeze within the disputed territories in South China Sea including West Philippine Sea, China openly rejected the proposal. "China opposed it immediately. They should study it before they reject it. If they reject it without studying it, then it looks like China does not recognize that the developments in the South China Sea are creating problems for everyone." - Albert del Rosario, Foreign Affairs Secretary According to del Rosario, China is like saying "What tensions? What problem? There is no problem." The Philippine top diplomat said problems can't be solved if it is not recognized. Instead of listening to international community's call to freeze construction, China is busy building its 'fixed aircraft carrier' inside Philippine exclusive economic zone in the West Philippine Sea. According to Filipino fishermen operating in West Philippine Sea, China is creating concrete sea barriers in Mabini reef. They also attested that there is an increased Chinese coast guard presence in the territory. Angmalaya |

China, Particularly it's Communist Government are already infected by E BOLA! Meaning E puro BOLA lang ang mga pinag gagawa at sinasabi! IMo, Don't be deceived by the moves of the current occupants of Malacanang regarding against China.. The truth is they are in reality for CHINA or PRO China! Itong panahon ni PNoy ang may pinakamaraming Chinese businesses ang nag yabong, at pinaka marami din na ILLEGAL activities ng China sa loob ng Pinas, lalo na sa illegal mining. The current Philippine Military Modernization Plans are meant to be as slow as a turtle for a reason. Ask the real reason why they cancelled those Italian Maestrales that were readily available? Take note of the evaluations, orders, bidding plans, not to mention expected date of deliveries which are useless and too late by the time comes, all useful only 2016 onwards, after his term, when we sea China hammering down their moves in SCS build plans and claims. The Scarborough stand off shouldn't have happened if only a stand ground and arrest those intruders at all cost were ordered by Malacanang, but were ordered to back off instead, humiliated PN PF15 ship vs Chinese CMS?? All they needed to do then was to stand ground and defend the area, to show China that they can't just bully us around, that we are dead serious on defending our territories regardless of our illequipped Military, keeping the US MDT in mind. The PN PF15 was made to back off for a reason to favour China not PHilippines. They are just buying time for China to position themselves sa SCS, the Arbitration we filed to UN tribunal are just papers and will not bare fruit in reality, for no Country not even America can enforce the ruling if it favours Philippines, or force China to back out off in SCS. In reality, the Philippines and it's Armed Forces, illequipped or not, when it comes to securing n protecting Inang Bayan, even at it's current state are strong, for they have the US MDT at the back of their hand to support them, also given it's current state then and now, it can protect its interests, territories at all cost, but will have to draw blood in order to trigger US Intervention, because of Military's current state, the Philippines is a very friendly and defensive Country in terms of WPS, it's one of the few chosen Countries that enjoys US MDT, along side Japan, Australia and I dont think it will have a problem on getting the help it deserves when the time comes. The Philippines have the POWER, but doesn't know how to expose or use it, or Don't want to use it? Apologies for the rant, but truth hurts. |

Upgrade of military facilities in Pagasa Island 'is a go' by Ruser Mallari 19/08/2014 ![]() The Philippine Air Force and Department of Foreign Affairs confirmed that Rancudo airstrip at Pagasa Island part of Kalayaan Group of Islands in West Philippine Sea will be upgraded and repaired. This is amid the Philippine government’s call for a moratorium. "We have been occupying Pag-asa before the 2002 DOC, so any improvements there should not be a violation of the DOC." Ever since we signed the 2002 DOC, I think the Philippines has been faithful. We have not taken any unilateral action to violate the DOC." - Charles Jose, DFA spokesman Chief of Air Staff Maj. Gen. Edgar Fallorina said first stage of repair is a go. The first stage will involve dredging activities to enable ships from approaching the island. Second stage is the actual repair of the air strip. PhP480 million is allocated to upgrade Navy and Air Force facilities in Pagasa Island. A firm already won the first stage repair and expected to be finished within the year. On the other hand, China is calling all Filipino troops and civilians occupying Kalayaan Group of Islands including citizens of Pagasa Island. China claims virtually the entire South China Sea including West Philippine Sea. Angmalaya Edited by Hong Nam, Oct 8 2014, 10:29 PM.

In a media briefing, Philippine Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) spokesman Charles Jose explained that upgrading the airstrip on Pag-asa Island, found in the Spratlys, will not disrupt the status quo in the South China Sea. He said this means the upgrade will not violate paragraph 5 of the 2002 Declaration on the Conduct of Parties (DOC) in the South China Sea - the basis of the moratorium sought by the Philippines. The DOC states under paragraph 5 that "the parties undertake to exercise self-restraint in the conduct of activities that would complicate and escalate disputes, and will refrain from inhabiting presently uninhabited islands, reefs, shoals, cays, and other features." Mark and defend our territory before it's too late Rafael M. Alunan III August 25, 2014 IF IT WEREN'T for China's armed aggression in the West Philippine Sea, the government would continue to neglect the exigencies for external defense. To the credit of the present Aquino administration, our defense buildup to attain "credible deterrence" is now under way. My question is: How complete and timely is the ongoing buildup? Is it based on a clearly articulated desired end-state and strategy? Is it risk-based? Plans, equipage, support systems, critical infrastructure, doctrines, training, interoperability exercises, and alliances must flow from a risk management mindset. I think that there's still room for improvement to avoid a situation that's "too little, too late." There are two imperatives for the government: First, beef up the quality and quantity of our white ships for presence and law enforcement in the West Philippine Sea to protect our human, energy and marine resources. It is affordable; can be acquired, funded and deployed rather quickly. Equally important is the need to undertake a no-nonsense internal security sweep to expel illegal workers, shut down illegal operations; mount legal offensives against enterprises that violate our laws and regulations. We shouldn't wait for the completion of our external defense buildup, which could take at least 10 years, to protect our exclusive economic zone, defend our territory and uphold our self-respect. We can assert ourselves right away by adopting those two countermoves to beef up our white ships and mount a comprehensive internal security campaign. But, wait, there's a hitch. The country cannot be effectively shielded from harm if the government continues to unreasonably underspend in external defense and civil defense. Leadership is required to harness a brain trust to determine the right mix of funding sources, integrate government and private sector initiatives, and orchestrate the complex effort of ensuring continuity until the mission is accomplished. We should focus on extending our sovereign reach. Business World Edited by Hong Nam, Aug 27 2014, 05:57 PM.

how ironic, his big Boss during the 90's couldnt do what he's now preaching. there were plans but weak political will to implement it quickly until Asian financial crisis torpedoed the whole thing. Damn!!! even the doing the first part (coast guard upgrade) would have made a big difference. |
