hilarious pronouncement:

China: Philippines getting int'l sympathy through deception

"China's representative to the United Nations (UN) claimed that the Philippines started the territorial dispute over the South China Sea and accused the country of trying to gain global sympathy.

In a report at the 24th meeting of state parties of the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), Deputy Permanent Representative Wang Min said the Philippines' accusations against China are "false."

"[W]e must point out that the root cause of the disputes between China and the Philippines in the South China Sea is the Philippines' illegal occupation of some islands and reefs of China's Nansha islands (Spratlys)," Wang said.

"The Philippines attempts to legalize its infringements and provocations by dragging China into arbitral proceedings. The Philippines is also trying to win international sympathy and support through deception. This is what the problem is in essence," he added.

Wang said pursuant to the provisions of UNCLOS, the Chinese government made a declaration in 2006 excluding disputes over maritime delimitation and territorial sovereignty from compulsory dispute settlement procedures.

He said China, as a sovereign state and a state party to UNCLOS, has the right under international law to do this."

looks like theyre really convinced that their lies are true. looks like years of brainwashing is bearing fruit

whats more hilarious is theyre taking vietnam to the UN for their side of the disputes. now they want un to rule over their disputes but not ours??? M O R O N S!!! :brrt:

btw, i see a change in china's tact here. looks like theyre seeing that we may win the arbitration and push them against the wall. first they ignore but now they acknowledge but still refuse to join the arbit

sa pinoy, parang bata na gustong manalo at bida palagi pero pag talo ayaw na. uuwi at sumbong k nanay / tatay. sounds like a big bad bully but on the inside really is a cry-baby :lollol:

The answer is simple: JOIN THE ARBITRAL PROCEEDING AND PROVE TO THE TRIBUNAL THAT THE PHILIPPINES IS DOING SOMETHING ILLEGAL. THAT SIMPLE! Otherwise, everything you're saying are just yakety-yaks...

China cannot correct or make something legal just by mere statements in a press conference, even if the person is a representative to the UN.

Palace shrugs off China's comments vs Phl in UN meeting
By Louis Bacani (philstar.com) | Updated June 16, 2014 - 4:16pm

MANILA, Philippines — Malacañang is not worried about China's accusation against the Philippines during a recent meeting of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).

Presidential Communication Operations Office head Herminio Coloma Jr. sees nothing wrong with China's move to engage the Philippines on media level before the international community.

"It is part of the dynamics of international relations to conduct information campaigns or to propagate a national policy by utilizing the mass media as a channel of communication. So we are not unduly perturbed by this action," Coloma said in a press briefing.

i think china is feeling the heat from the international community, but unfortunately they dont seem to care. pakitang tao lang to. they will still continue to do what they are planning to do, nevertheless. they are just plainly pressured by the intl community to issue such statements, thats all

lets keep pushing china to show its real color for the international community to see

They are really feeling the pressure that is why they are trying to deviate the situation in their favor, as usual. Little by little, US, Japan, and Korean companies are moving away to China...

If these companies continues to go out of China, the multi-billion oil contract between Russia and China will go to waste as China does not need much oil if there are no factories and companies to run in the future.

Kinalabit pa lng sila na Pinas pero hanggang buto na ang sakit! Paano pa kung kinurot sila...san p aabot ang sakit!

They(China) know that they are bound to lose everything, once an UNCLOS ruling comes out, all their false and ridiculous claims in WPS/SCS on our(PH) part, that is why they are trying to do everything they can, to steal and secure any territories in KIG/ Spratly Island.

I believe what they're trying to do is to apply the same strategy as to "Mischief Reef" and the notion like "Once they establish to build permanent structures in the area, no Country can make them pack n leave.."

Re; Vietnam's case, they have more chances on engaging Vietnam for their territorial claims due to proximity, maybe..?

Our case (PH's), it's as simple as we are a "harmless easy prey." On a LEGAL CLAIM basis, they REALLY DON'T STAND A CHANCE.

I believe the US is just waiting for them to commit a slight mistake on us (PH) part and then apply lessons for them to learn, didn't you notice, ever since after the signing of EDCA all of a sudden, China switched from aggressive mode to (talk mode) and media war on Philippines...

China demands Philippines’ withdrawal from Spratly
June 17, 2014 (updated)

China has demanded that the Philippines withdraw all its facilities and personnel in Spratly islands (Nansha islands) in response to the latter’s call for a moratorium on all land formation activities in the West Philippine Sea (South China Sea).

In a statement, Chinese Foreign Minister Hua Chunying said that “Since the 1970s, the Philippines has illegally and forcefully occupied parts of China’s Nansha Islands including the Zhongye Island, in violation of the UN Charter and principles of international law.”

This clearly shows that bilateral talks would not work for these parties. China is so stubborn and anchors too much on their lies.
