Perhaps we will see PLAAF Su27s squaring off against PAF FA50s in the near future:

PLA may build airfield on disputed South China Sea island

(...EDITED)

Citing military experts, Duowei said that China may soon construct a new airfield on Johnson South Reef to increase its force projection ability over the South China Sea region.

According to the report, China has learned valuable lessons from the Johnson South Reef Skirmish with Vietnam in 1988, when Beijing found that it would be close to impossible to drive Vietnam out of the Spratlys without a strong air force.

After its victory in the 1988 skirmish, China occupied six reefs and atolls in the Spratly islands, including John South Reef. However, Vietnam still controls 29 islands in the Spratly chain. China will now look to build an airfield for the PLA Navy, Duowei said, while it will be necessary to send warships to complete the project amid the territorial tensions.

Also, I bet my dollar that the Americans will try to get closer to the Spratlys by accessing the close by airports (Puerto Princesa, Brooke's Point, El Nido) or develop old airfields such as Balabac, Tarumpitao and be closer to where the potential action will be. Developing Johnson South Reef should give us a go signal to fully refurbish Rancudo Airfield and a pier/port and a landing area.

Some Chinese Scholars Call For The Elimination Of Baseless Claim Of U-Shaped Line
Posted on May 24, 2013 by eyedrd

The 9-dash line (or cow-tongue line) which China unilaterally draws in the East Sea has provoked not only Vietnamese scholars and researchers, but also Chinese scholars.

Recently, a Chinese scholar whose pen name is Li Woteng, posted on Sina, China’s biggest internet forum, an article entitled “The nine-dash line: keep or eliminate” to expose the irrational claim. The article shows that truth is still respected and China cannot arbitrarily announce sovereignty over territory it has never owned.

With the Chinese having to confront Vietnam in the Paracels. Maybe they have their "hands full" at the moment and left some areas of the West Philippine Sea unattended.

:rifle:

It's worth a look.

China media call for 'unaffordable price' in sea dispute
Agence France-Presse
May 13, 2014

BEIJING - China's state-run media on Tuesday called for Beijing's territorial challengers to be made to pay an "unaffordable price," with the country embroiled in heated rows in the South China Sea.

"The Philippines has singled itself out as a determined challenger of Chinese national interests and the devoted hatchet man of foreign anti-China forces. It needs to be convinced that it has made a choice that, if it persists, means paying an unaffordable price. Beijing must make sure that every claimant knows blackmail and extortion will not work, and that it will not compromise its territorial integrity. A rat will not be pacified when we hesitate to pelt it for fear of smashing the vase beside it."
- China Daily editorial

The China Daily accused Japan, the Philippines and Vietnam of worsening situations in the region, encouraged by "malicious third parties."

The government should start digging into Chinese businesses doing illegal work(particularly on the mining sector/quarries) and stop it NOW... and let us see what unaffordable prices they are talking about!

I often read members here complain about not understanding what the bully is talking about, if we read what this bully writes and understand it in a logical manner, then, we will will never understand what they are saying. they are so often pressured to write or say so much lies that they can no longer distinguish it from the truth.

Here are some Twisted reasoning they want the world to accept:

If they get something that is yours, don't complain, coz complaining will only lead to trouble, and no one wants trouble, complaining will lead to silly ideas like stealing and make the issue very complicated, but if you just surrender everything, then how can you call it stealing, it is just a transfer of ownership. If you start complaining, then you are the one who started trouble. And you better think twice if you start trouble with a bigger more powerful neighbor.

Everything the Bully does is Legal, even if they make an imaginary line on their map and call everything in it theirs, is Legal. it can only be called Illegal if the court makes that rule. So to avoid complications and in the spirit of Good Neighborliness, never take the issue to court. Just make a bilateral negotiation. but before negotiating you have to accept that China has sovereignty over everything it claims, only after accepting this idea can the bilateral negotiation begin. so forget about multilateral talks that could lead your bigger more powerful neighbor to become angry at you. it is never wise to pick a fight with a bigger neighbor. so the wiser and more peaceful way of solving things is through bilateral negotiations.

So to understand what the bully is saying, you have to twist your reasoning.
