WALANG DUWAG NA PINOY | PHL will defend territories 'to the last blood' - VP Binay

11-Apr-14, 7:47 PM | Ernie Reyes, InterAksyon.com

Filipinos are 'no pushover' and will defend their territories to the very end, but only after all peaceful means have been exhausted, Vice President Jejomar Binay said Thursday night after meeting Marines posted in the so-called last frontier of Philippine sovereignty, Ayungin Shoal.

(...EDITED)

another lip service from our VP..

Exemplified by his son - the mayor - who not only stood his ground, but decided to "push" those village security men who stood their ground in their firm adherence of village rules?
He's just like China, Hong. His actions are very much different from what he says. He never backs down to whatever happens but said govt must talk to China and not bring the case to UN... :headbang:

Sorry mods for the off-topic....

heres a quikie:
America is ready to give whatever the AFP wants
enhanced defense cooperation agreement just needs signatures of aquino and obama
according to ambassador cuisia, the philippines just needs to give its wish list to the US
for example when the phiippines asked for the 2 whecs, it was given right away
its possible the enhanced agreement will be signed on april 28-29 during obamas visit
my interpretation or spin of the above news: as long as its surplus or for decommissioning, the US can give it right away, the philippines just needs to give
the go-signal and willing to pay for refurb(if needed), etc, pretty much common sense since we have been a major ally
for a while now, its just that the current philippine preference in spending their defense money is on brand-new as much as
possible(as shown by recent behavior), although they need to modify their mantra of buy brand-new only on a case to case basis
depending on factors such as "immediate availability of equipment, remaining life in the equipment, etc as i mentioned before, linear conventional decision-making must be accompanied by common sense and thinking out of the box

1) save its online and pick it up and pay in store.

2) The words major allies is slightly exaggurated

1) Huh?

2) Exaggerated? Even better. Perhaps this will get rid of the "Uncle Sam give me a freebie... Why are they getting this and we aren't? - mentality" and actually start depending on yourselves for most of your more modern defense related acquisitions.

1.place an order online, then pick it up and pay to your local store

2.true its does but still calling us a major ally is still exaggurated
