Philippines: Chinese Ships Must Leave Scarborough Shoal by Agence France-Presse Posted on 11/29/2012 3:41 PM | Updated 11/29/2012 4:19 PM http://www.rappler.com/nation/16990-philippines-chinese-ships-must-leave-scarborough-shoal MANILA, Philippines - The Philippines is still asking China to withdraw three ships from a disputed shoal in the South China Sea almost six months after it promised to pull out, Foreign Affairs Secretary Albert del Rosario said Thursday, November 29. Del Rosario said that while the Philippines withdrew its own ships from Scarborough Shoal on June 4, as agreed by both countries, China's three government ships remained in the area. |

Now, if this new ridiculous idea of Beijing is to push through, there won't be any mistakes on us for it won't matter to them because China is very much more than prepared for anything now, unlike before that maybe we could have caught them with the element of surprise.. (Ma sindak natin sila at magulat!) So much for that, thanks to we know who? Useless unbecoming.

This is the main reason why they(China) don't respect PH particularly the present Government due to lacking of balls and being so predictable. -kasabihan nga.. "Sticks and stones may break my bones, (but words will never hurt me")

I feel your frustration bro and i feel the same way too. I think the present government is not the one to blame on this. If only the previous 2 government did not fail in modernizing the AFP, then we will not be in this situation. Maybe a bit different as we will have deterrent capability by now. The good thing is that ngaun alam na natin kung ano ung totoong pakay nga mga chekwa na parang hindi tau pwede dadaan sa sarili nating bakuran, then hindi naman siguro natutulog ang international community. Sana ung mga nasa tungkulin ngaun, bilisan nila ung procurement. we are running out of time.. Yan lang po.. mabuhay ang pilipinas.. |

If you really think about it, the US might eventually get involve in a war against China, or they might even be looking forward to it. In the last four major wars the US fought, the US Navy took a back seat, watching the Army and Air Force do their thing. Given that China now has a large and formidable navy, this will be a mainly a naval war, with the air force in supporting role. It should not be as expensive and long drawn out as any land war. A naval and air war could even be as short as a week or a couple of months. There will be no need for the US to send in a large land army like in Vietnam, Iraq and Afganistan, since America has neither the intention to invade, nor to occupy China. The main objective here is to contain China. A war with China will give the US a chance to use the full capability of its most sophisticated and expensive weapons, like the F-22s, F-35s, Comanches, UCAVs, AGEIS, etc, against the most sophisticated Russian and Chinese technology can offer. This war will ultimately give the best reason why the US needs to spend billions more in high tech weapons, since they will have to contend with another worthy adversary since the Soviet Union. What's the Philippine's part in this before and during the conflict? We'll be one of the pawns, but at least we don't have to fight China alone. And just like US allies in the Middle East, the US will start providing us with better and more modern weapons. |

Frustration is in the air and we aren't short of it. I also believe the present government isn't the only one to blame here. In fact, most of the blame falls on the previous administrations since 1995. You can also go back to when the Yanquis were kicked out of Subic and Clark. The blame game can go on and on and as far in time as you want (although not without serious debate). However, I don't think this administration doesn't have balls. Filipinos maybe many things, but lacking cojones isn't one of them. It's the lack of steel to "back up the talk" and to make Filipinos "walk the walk". I have heard time and time again of praises for Filipinos resolve and courage. Didn't someone famous say that if you give him 10,000 well armed Filipinos he can rule the world? I am sure that statement was not patronizing the Filipino ego. It was real. Give them the right tools and they will kick that 9 dash line passport so far up their ass they won't need visa stamps for them. Edited by Hong Nam, Dec 1 2012, 08:08 PM.

Pawns, Sacrificial lamb, we will be the casualties of this war for not preparing and sending our ill equipped PH troops to a Modern war to fight with NO choice but to defend our Constitution and the Country's Sovereignty. @Moonski, why only blame the 2 previous Governments and not to include the present one or even post 1986, when the respect of the whole World, the highest peak of our Military's domination in SE Asia was when during the Marcos regime. sad to say but it's true! These so called new Democrazy Politicians now, the one that over threw the Marcos Govt. are all just worthless for Juan de la Cruz, they only look after their own personal thing, personal gains and nothing for the Country and the Filipino People. "Ano ba nagawa nila kung hindi magpayaman para sa sarili lang nila at wala para sa bayan.." at least this one that allegedly amassed ill gotten wealth looked after the Country and the Filipino People at the same time, tried to preserved the Filipino Culture, really loved and cared for the Philippines and all, infrastructure projects, plans that are being utilized up to now which are unparalleled even with (4-5) past Governments combined including the present, After Marcos Govt left, let me ask each one of you every Filipino in PH and around the globe, "WHAT HAPPENED TO OUR CULTURE?" SO SINO ANG DAPAT SISIHIN??? DIBA? If we had a leader similar to FM right now, considering our territorial problems with China, would he buy and give priority acquiring just ex-USCG ships for PN, only planning to acquire the cheapest inferior Military platform that's out in the World market or acquiring equipments not even at par with our neighbors Military capabilities??? He'll only try to acquire what's really the BEST for the AFP and not what's only second best or the cheapest.. WE WOULDN'T EVEN HAVE A PROBLEM WITH CHINA IN THE FIRST PLACE MAYBE... Am no Marcos fan, joined PP1 and was even supporting ATOM, but after a very deep thinking through the years.. and the after math, now including how all the ANTI's have become, their accomplishments for the Country, what the Filipino People and it's Culture had become..??? WE WERE ONLY DECEIVED AND USED. They maybe showing some good progress in terms of economy, foreign and local investments, growth etc. but, being on a leash won't give us that "great" results, we will be robbed of our potentials, controlled, will end up missing, losing what is BIG that's truly ours behind the picture ones that they don't want to show us... ? -Just want to say that WE SHOULD TRY LEARNING STANDING ON OUR OWN, STAND UP AND FIGHT FOR OUR RIGHTS, NEVER SEEK OUT WAR, BUT MUST ALWAYS BE READY FOR IT. WHERE'S THE PATRIOTISM, MAKABAYAN, MAKATAO, MAKADIYOS IN EACH ONE OF US...? THE TRUE FILIPINOS CAN DO BETTER THAN THIS. sorry a bit off, but I think I've said my piece..

@hongnam, I agree with you. If only we have the right tools for the job, i have no doubt about the bravery of the Filipinos and we will succeed.. I believe if I am not mistaken, it is Gen. McArthur.. @AVB, as what hongnam have said, we go back as far as 1986 but the crucial time is ~the last 2 administration especially FVR. He is a military man, he should know that neglecting the military will have consequences like what we have experience now. I did not include the current administration as they still have the chance to write the wrong. Although procuring military equipment is not like buying something in the dept store but i feel they are a bit slow. I am just hoping that they are doing something below that radar for everybody to minimize the chances of the other side knowing. I agree with you on FM although he is same with most politicians right now (C0**upt) but at least he controls that only him can do it and not like now that even the lowest officials in the land can do it also. This is my take on this also. I am still hoping that we came out victorious on this.. Mabuhay..
