Manila plans construction on PH-held Spratlys island: Lorenzana
Christian V. Esguerra, ABS-CBN News

Posted at Jan 09 2018 02:17 PM

MANILA - The military plans to build facilities for Filipino fishermen in a Philippine-held island in the Spratlys, a move Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana hopes would not trigger a protest from China.

The construction is part of a bigger rehabilitation plan in the Kalayaan group of islands, including repair of a beat-up runway on Pag-asa during the first quarter this year, he said.

Palace: No breach of good faith in China ‘militarization’ of Kagitingan Reef

There is “no breach in good faith” on the part of China as far as Malacañang is concerned, presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said Tuesday, amid the supposed militarization of the Kagitingan Reef or Fiery Cross in the disputed South China Sea.

As long as China is giving loans for the Build, build, build project of the administration, there is no breach in good faith.

That is the ultimate price of development. The people are already blind and deaf of what is really happening because of the proliferation of fake news that the administration is pushing that they don't know that they already lost their country. It seems that the sacrifice that our heroes have given would be for nothing.
This administration is really in the focus of killing more helpless Filipinos rather than defying China because the administration has no balls.
In the end, this country would lose its identity and would become an unofficial province of China.

It is still possible to recover the lost territories. If war breaks out between US and China, and when China is clearly on the losing side, their capability degraded, the Ph shouldd quickly seize those PLA bases before Vietnam or Taiwan is able to do so. The Ph must have the capability to rapidly deploy special forces or marines plus mobile SAM and anti ship missile batteries that can be airlifted to defend the recovered territories against any counterattack from any side.

For now, the Ph would just have to play the waiting game.

Its not about waging war. WTF are they implying!? It is about telling and reiterating to China to respect the Philippine territory, respect the law, respect the friendship, when in the first place China had been insisting that there will be "No Militarization". To the President DU30, CIC, you are a lawyer, correct? Now, implement the law in our seas.

Technically oo, tama, pero ayaw nio nga ipaglaban karapatan ntin, tapos you are assuming that we will "get it someday"? When? After 50 years because you dont want to reiterate the claim and you dont want to re-elevate to UN about China's attitude towards WPS?

Palace downplays Duterte remark on West PH Sea 'co-ownership' with China
Dharel Placido, ABS-CBN News

MANILA - Malacañang on Thursday downplayed President Rodrigo Duterte’s remark that a possible joint exploration between the Philippines and China in the disputed West Philippine Sea would be akin to a “co-ownership.”

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said Duterte could just be trying to simplify the term “joint exploration” and ended up using “co-ownership.”

This I agree. Nations don't give up territories out of good will, unless if factors smack up to the point that China is weak and humiliated. That means, there will be a conflict before that, wrecking up economic momentum, lives of innocent people and protecting national interest in the process with ravaging cities up in shambles.

Hoping and dreaming are not bad at all. It was just that, more actions are badly needed to back up these two, very important words. :snipemo:
Never assume unless it is highly stated.
