PH says S. China Sea row should be resolved in 'neighborly' manner
ABS-CBN News

Posted at Jul 12 2017 10:26 AM

MANILA - A year after the Philippines' legal victory over China in the Permanent Court of Arbitration, the Duterte administration said Wednesday it wants the standing issues over the South China Sea resolved in a "neighborly" manner.

A statement from the Department of Foreign Affairs said the administration reaffirms its "unwavering commitment to protect our country's territorial claims and maritime entitlements," but it believes that the ongoing conflict "should further be resolved in a manner consistent with the spirit of good neighborly relations."

"... be resolved in a manner consistent with the spirit of good neighborly relations"....
The problem: PH is making it favorable to China, and Chinese govt itself wants it to be in their advantage and benefit! PH should stress and remind China that the area they are illegeally occupying is PH territory.

See, this is exactly what I'm saying! ....

http://globalnation.inquirer.net/158725/year-arbitration-options-directions

In the past 12 months, China has been provided a most favorable environment in the Philippines...

NO CHANGE. Over the same period, we have not seen the change that we would have wanted from Beijing.

It has neither changed in its direction nor exercised greater restraint.
Despite its friendlier face, we do not see restraint in China’s militarization and unlawful activity in the West Philippine Sea.... China has continued to fortify its military position in the South China Sea.

...As this year’s chair of Asean, we have an opportunity that comes only once in a decade.
There is room for us to steer the discussions on the proposed code of conduct, to ensure that it is effective, binding, and quickly concluded.

We do have a Lawyer President. Why can't he correctly implement the law!? Because of his idealism to communism, he is no better than those who historically kept a blind eye on the ownership of PH in WPS. Damn!

Duterte warned on reaching ‘point of no return’ in sea dispute with China
By: Nikko Dizon - Reporter / @NikkoDizonINQ
Philippine Daily Inquirer / 09:41 PM July 13, 2017

MANILA — What is the point of no return for the Philippines in its maritime dispute with China in the South China Sea?

With the about-face policy of Duterte administration a year after the country’s victory in the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA), the point of no return for the Philippines will range from the environmental degradation and militarization in the South China Sea to China’s exhaustion of all economic benefits, according to experts.

University of the Philippines (UP) professor Jay Batongbacal said on Wednesday, the Philippines has been moving towards an irreversible situation concerning the environment and China’s militarization in the South China Sea.

Seems mas matibay talaga ang batongbacal kaysa sa "bato" and hindi nya kaya "manalo".

On the Point Of No Return, gus2 po kasi subukan ni PDU30, out of his yabang, na ituloy ang pagbenta ng WPS, na sinimulan ni PGMA. Let us recall that it was during PGMA wen we didnt acquire any fighter jet nor greater ship to patrol our territory, in favor of China. It was during PGMA where she pact a deal with China and sell our territory to allow China to utilize and explore the WPS for oil drilling.

He doesn't listen nor read the history where-in China does not agree with PH sovereignty. He is so much in favor of friendship with China by letting Chinese govt disrespect PH. And China likes it for their advantage.

South China Sea expert: Treat ruling as ‘valuable precedent’
By: Jerome Aning - Reporter / @JeromeAningINQ
Philippine Daily Inquirer / 07:33 AM July 17, 2017

A former Vietnamese government official and expert on the South China Sea issue has called on all the claimant countries in the territorial and maritime dispute to treat the arbitral ruling won by the Philippines last year as a “valuable precedent” in following the rule of law in the contested sea.

“[Claimant countries] should continue to implement a more robust, practical and specific legal battlefront. To do this, it is necessary to thoroughly study and publicize the ruling’s content as a valuable precedent, a lesson in following the rule of law,” Dr. Tran Cong Truc, former chief of Vietnam’s national border committee, said in an e-mail interview.

Duterte: PH, China eyeing joint S. China Sea exploration
Dharel Placido, ABS-CBN News

Posted at Jul 25 2017 12:22 AM

MANILA – President Rodrigo Duterte on Monday said the Philippines and China are now working on entering a joint exploration agreement regarding natural gas deposits in the disputed South China Sea.

Duterte touched on the South China Sea issue in his State of the Nation Address, saying the two countries will have to confront the issue eventually.

Asked to elaborate on what he meant, Duterte told reporters after his SONA: “When they start to excavate the gas and all. I tell you, it’s going to be just like a joint venture.”

Duterte stopped himself from revealing more information.

Will he give-in to the demands of China? It is certain and likely that Chinese govt will continue and will stress its old-time requirements for the exploration, as they have always required the ff:
1. PH must recognize China's ownership in the SCS.
2. PH will only have 80/20 or 90/10 share of the project. They will magnify that 10-20% will be the expenses of PH, but also 10-20% only ownership and output/income share of PH
3. SCS will be under the national law of China.

In addition, they might add the ff:
1. PH must not use the UNCLOS/ITLOS ruling in the SCS
2. PH must help China convince other nations to recognize Chinese ownership and jurisdiction of SCS
3. PH must not use any jet fighters/navy to patrol without the exclusive permission of China
4. PH must not challenge any/all of the above.
5. PH must remove the rusting vessel BRP Sierra Madre
