China threat of war bared

Really? And he immediately tucked his little tail between his legs?

I'd call their bluff and would like to see Xi Jinping try.

China said: "we will go to war".
The duwag PH President, he should have replied: "will you go to war despite the international law said that you are illegally occupying there and your claims has no basis? Then China is not in the friendship game because you are seeking war to illegally win, then it is not friendship, it is not for peace".

The duwag PH president, a lawyer, expected to know, to understand and reiterate law.
So if the PH drug lord says "if you will not allow us to sell, we will go to war", tapos sabi nya ang batas ay batas..... Mr. President, nasaan na po yung yabang nio na "ang batas ay batas"?

He could have also said "If that is China's wish to war a peaceful nation just because of illegal occupation, then where is China's peaceful solution to the ASEAN? Several countries lay claim, and it should be mutually respected, then where is China's respect to the ASEAN when your option is to wage war on your illegal occupation?"

It is really not about going to war, it is reiterating the internationa law, since you are a lawyer!
You have just bluffed and China now knows na puro ka yabang. Your ego is writing cheques your body can't cash. Nkkha na may presidenteng abogado na hindi marunong magpatupad ng batas. Commander-In-Chief pa man din kita.

Sir, did you really think Xi has said that?

Looks to me, Mang Kanor is just war mongering, justifying his claim that if we don't make friends with China, they're going to wage war on PH... and the 16M fools will believe him.

However, I do think Xi is involved in this plan -- it's their (Xi and Duterte's plan) anyway.

And the plan is -- sabotage PH's interest and we will give you all the money you want.

It's not being a coward, Mang Kanor only looks for his own personal interest.

Justice Carpio calls for fresh arbitration case over China war 'threat'
Enrico dela Cruz and Manuel Mogato, Reuters

Posted at May 20 2017 09:09 PM | Updated as of May 20 2017 09:32 PM

MANILA — A Supreme Court judge called on Saturday for Manila to file an international arbitration case and a complaint with the United Nations over what the country's leader said was a threat of war made by Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Supreme Court Associate Justice Antonio Carpio, a staunch critic of Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte's business-focused rapprochement with China, said the use or threat of force to settle disputes between states is outlawed under the U.N. Charter and if the president did nothing to protest that, he was "selling us out."

Duterte on Friday said his Chinese counterpart had warned him there would be war if Manila tried to enforce an arbitration ruling and drill for oil in a disputed part of the South China Sea. China has not responded to Duterte's latest comment.

China's war threat to PH an attitude of a 'bully,' says ex-envoy
ABS-CBN News

Posted at May 20 2017 07:26 PM | Updated as of May 20 2017 08:53 PM

MANILA- China acted like a "bully" when it threatened the Philippines with war over the South China Sea dispute, a former envoy said Saturday.

Former Ambassador Jose Apolinario Lozada said he was discouraged and disturbed with Beijing's recent warning, saying it should have asked Manila to discuss the issue instead.

"I’m disturbed, I’m deeply disturbed with the statement that was told to us by the President (Rodrigo Duterte) when they (China) said that they are going to war with us simply because we are going to insist on our claims over the islands which we have been claiming ever since," he told ANC.

OH AYAN, POTANG CANNOT STAND UP FOR YOURSELF AND YOUR COUNTRY, KANOT TALAGA!!! :headbang:

Mag pa uto kayo ng magpa uto diyan sa leader niyong supot!

FYI, We are NOT asking you to go to WAR, but just to exercise our Country's RIGHTS, CONSTITUTION and Protect our SOVEREIGNTY.
At the same time;

-PH should STAND BY and exercise UNCLOS ITLOS PH Ruling over China AT ALL COST, regardless of anything.

- It would be better for the PH to refrain from engaging on ANY KIND OF ECONOMIC INVESTMENTS from China and to start BOYCOTT of all China made products, ask ASEAN Counterparts for two way support, in exchange for economic investment options as replacement, to anticipate China Boycott aftermath.
- File a case to ITLOS against China FOR THREAT OF WAR re WPS.

-PH must use Emergency Powers to FUND n FAST TRACK it's Territorial Defense Plan Acquisitions, to acquire AIR N SURFACE Defense Radars, Land Base Weapons AIR & SURFACE Defense Missiles, HIMARS, S300 etc., (16) Sukhoi SU-35 MRF's (Russia), (12) Attack Helicopters, (16) Super Tucano A-29, (20) 2K22M Tunguska (Russia),
Secondhand Missile Frigates and Corvettes w/ ASW Capability, MANPADs 9K38 Igla (Russia).

-Re Open SRDP with FUNDS to develop and built our locally made Rockets, Missiles.

-Fund MAPUA through SRDP, to study and develop portable underwater sonar drones.

-Cut the B_LLSH_T on US hate and just TALK to POTUS Trump IF THEY ARE WITH US ALL THE WAY and that now, PH IS WILLING TO SPEND FOR OUR DEFENSE, IF THEY CAN REALLY SELL US WHAT WE WANT TO SPEND ON, REGARDING US MILITARY HARDWARE with Lesser or NO Restrictions like the same way they treat any other US ALLIES, FOR SELF DEFENCE PURPOSES like (18) HIMARS Launchers with undetermined no. of Rockets, MRFs, AHs,.

-ASK Potus Trump to declare Scarborough Shoal AS PART OF PH TERRITORY just like how they support Senkakus of Japan.

The Philippines badly needs State of the Art Military Armed Forces Hardware in order to deter and to show China, that even if we don't want to go to war, WE FLY LIKE A FRIENDLY BUTTERFLY in SE ASIA, BUT WE also CAN STING LIKE A BEE! :salute:

HOW CAN U NEGOTIATE OUR COUNTRY'S FOREIGN AFFAIRS and INTERESTS FROM A WEAK POINT, HAVING A CLOSE TO NIL MILITARY MIGHT..???

Now that you know Mr. President na walang friends friends at sinagot ka ni Xi ng ganiyan, mas matindi pa yan sa mga ginawa ng mga UN, EU, US etc. sa pag Condemn sa Anti Illegal Drug Campaign at EJK ng Gobyerno mo, di ka ba nanlumo at nanliit sa sagot sa iyo ng BF mo??? ANO NGAYON ANG GAGAWIN MO????!!! : CHINA PA MORE!!!

Sa ka P.S.,
Pano magkakaroon ng SCS "Code of Conduct" kung simulat sapul hanggang ngayon ay puro "ACTs of UNBECOMING" ANG PINAG GAGAWA NG CHINA???

If it didn't work before, what makes anybody sure that it will work now..?

FYI, This new Code of Conduct in the SCS/ WPS is TAILORED TO CHINA for they've ALREADY ACCOMPLISHED GRABBING 75% ALL OF SCS AS PART OF THEIR OWN TERRITORY AND SCARBOROUGH SHOAL IS THE REMAINING 25% LEFT, TO BUILD ILLEGAL ARTIFICIAL ISLAND.. NEXT MOVE IS TO INVADE PHILIPPINES!!!

Simply put:

When somebody threatens you with war - PREPARE. Shrugging your shoulders and tucking your tail between your legs will not change anything.

A tough president against his people but cowers in fear when facing a strong opponent - A BULLY. Yes, that's what you have plain and simple. China is often labelled as a bully but the irony is that your leader is one who bullies his own people.

I don't envy Cayetano's job of having to clean up after his boss:

Philippine minister starts damage control after Duterte's China war remark
Martin Petty and Karen Lema, Reuters

Posted at May 22 2017 01:16 PM | Updated as of May 22 2017 01:17 PM

MANILA - Talks last week between leaders of China and the Philippines were frank and friendly, with no threats or bullying, Manila's foreign minister said on Monday, after his president said he was warned of war if he drills for oil in the South China Sea.

Foreign Affairs Secretary Alan Peter Cayetano would not disclose more details of the Beijing meeting between President Rodrigo Duterte and China counterpart Xi Jinping, but said they had the kind of relationship in which they could openly discuss preventing maritime conflict.

The notoriously outspoken Duterte said during a televised speech on Friday that Xi warned him there would be war if he tried to explore for oil in a stretch of the sea that both countries claim. China has yet to respond to Duterte revealing contents of the meeting.

"The conversation was very frank. There was mutual respect, there was mutual trust," Cayetano told reporters.

Really? And he immediately tucked his little tail between his legs?

I'd call their bluff and would like to see Xi Jinping try.

If Duterte is telling the truth, China is in violation of its own Joint Statement with the Philippines:

Quote:

1. At the invitation of H.E. President Xi Jinping of the People's Republic of China, H.E. President Rodrigo Roa Duterte of the Republic of the Philippines undertook a state visit to China from 18 to 21 October 2016. ...

40. Both sides exchange views on issues regarding the South China Sea. Both sides affirm that contentious issues are not the sum total of the China-Philippines bilateral relationship. Both sides exchange views on the importance of handling the disputes in the South China Sea in an appropriate manner. Both sides also reaffirm the importance of maintaining and promoting peace and stability, freedom of navigation in and over-flight above the South China Sea, addressing their territorial and jurisdictional disputes by peaceful means, without resorting to the threat or use of force, through friendly consultations and negotiations by sovereign states directly concerned, in accordance with universally recognized principles of international law, including the Charter of the United Nations and the 1982 UNCLOS.

China Foreign Ministry

Which China reaffirmed at the start of bilateral consultations last Friday:

Quote:

With a view to creating a sound atmosphere for the healthy and steady growth of bilateral relations and for the smooth progress of practical cooperation in various fields, both sides exchanged views on the importance of addressing concerns in the South China Sea and handling incidents and disputes in the South China Sea in an appropriate manner. Such discussions are consistent with the October 2016 Joint Statement, where both sides reaffirmed the importance of maintaining and promoting peace and stability, freedom of navigation in and over-flight above the South China Sea, addressing their territorial and jurisdictional disputes by peaceful means, without resorting to the threat or use of force, through friendly consultations and negotiations by sovereign states directly concerned, in accordance with universally recognized principles of international law, including the Charter of the United Nations and the 1982United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).

China Foreign Ministry

If what Duterte said is true, then these bilateral consultations are a farce, and China's word is garbage.

yes, Duterte definitely said that Xi mentioned war if we push with drilling. original speech here: https://www.facebook.com/presidentialcom/videos/1735223043174016/
My impression is that Xi did not directly threaten war in a condescending or humilating manner but, nevertheless ,just the fact that Xi mentions the possibility of war is more than enough motivation to rapidly acquire the needed credible minimum deterrent. As mentioned already many times. At least one credible equipment type from each branch for starters: e.g. army- SSM system, Navy - missile armed frigates, Air Force -BVAR and ASM missiles for the jet.
By the way, Duterte just left for Russia via Davao for those who didnt know yet. Duterte can still 'redeem' himself by at least announcing the order of Brahmos SSMs which require russian approval. :) or S-400s
