double-talk

Apologies as this is the only word I understood. But I think I got the point of the rest of it.

I think most of the double talk are because of:

1) He "shoots from the hip". Readily talking things which he doesn't know about.

2) When he eventually is convinced of his mistakes, he does a turn-around.

3) He relies on his men e.g. Secdef, Foreign minister, Ambassadors etc. to do the "damage control".

4) He thinks he is funny because his fans laugh at his often crude jokes thus thinks he is entertaining.

5) He thinks he can "play" China and Russia against the US... which is a very naive assumption.

Or simply:

1) He is just a Chinese stooge.

I prefer the former.

Sorry ha, pero nakikita ko dito is style of "paasa", a double-talk. Baka yan ang pinapasabi ni Du30. Pero after a while sasabihin nya na "we are giving China all the permission to use WPS"; an act of Treason. Maraming beses na tayo pinaasa ni Du30 about the WPS. Nagyabang pa sya na pupunta sya ng solo. It is not na hindi nya kaya.... It is more of "Ayaw niya dahil duwag sya kay China"
Translation for Hong Nam:

Sorry, but we see here a sign of "double-talk". That might be what Duterte is saying. But after a while he might instead say "We are giving China the permission to use WPS", an act of treason".

We have said many times what we expect of Duterte on the WPS. He was even very cocky to say he would go there by himself. But it is more of saying "He doesn't like because he's a coward"

Tagalog derivatives/translation of Spanish words that you might understand:

beses= veces

The words "pero", "solo", all mean the exactly the same thing in Tagalog as in Spanish

duwag= cobarde (coward)

I don't think the reason why he's chummy with China is because he just wants PH to get along, he's not doing that to piss the US, his reason isn't any profound reason or ideology or strategy.. IMHO.. he is just in it for the money and I'll bet from day 1 of the presidential campaign China has been a major financier -- and still is. It's a sound strategy for China -- just pay one man and that man is going to be in service with China. Six years of Mang Kanor will not only setback PH's interest but also the whole of ASEAN and the West.

By the end of six years Mang Kanor will be an extremely rich man.

Even on matters he's obviously clueless about his first impulse is to make excuses for his master.

I agree with Hongnam. He probably means well, its only that he is a populist at heart and talks impulsively. However, he has personal grievances against the americans and he is involving the whole nation in his grievances, and on this aspect, I find it alarming, he should really see a psychiatrist to help him deal with his anger(and it is a valid anger) before the whole nation is affected irreversibly by his anti-americanism. Specifically, there are at least 4 incidents in his life that made him anti-american. you can google it:
1. he claims he was molested by an american priest at ateneo
2. he applied for a visa once to visit the united states and it was denied.
3. his first marriage to an american mestiza ended in separation
4. he was angry when FBI agents spirited out that american caught with explosives in his hotel room in davao
he has valid personal reasons to be angry with the first 3 reasons but he should not involved the whole nation in his vendetta. The last reason is definitely a good reason, and no country should override our jurisdiction over criminal suspects.

How many of these rumors are urban myths in Davao? :lollol:

My reply to your post is directed to your president:

1) And if it was a Filipino priest? Would you blame the entire Philippines? You should blame Ateneo de whatever while you're at it.

2) US visa application is a hit and miss affair. Just like everything else in life. Can't blame them all too.

3) American 'mestiza' wife. You should blame the 'mestiza' half in her too.

- However, I wouldn't blame your spouse for eventually leaving you. Can you imagine the agony she must have gone through?

4) How many times has China violated Filipino rights? You should blame them as well.

Selective blaming is all that it is.

Stnp!dly, why is he always talking assumption of "making war with China". He is redirecting the understanding. All he has to do is to instill the PH respect and claims. By enforcing the UNCLOS, it is giving respect to PH. By saying "Let's not talk about UNCLOS" is simply saying you do not care for the PH. That is treason..

Before anyone accuses me of spreading rumors, there are many links on the internet regarding what I said that quote Duterte himself. Here are some samples:
