A month before his retirement, a testimonial parade and review was held in honor of a senior Philippine Navy officer at Bonifacio Naval Station Parade Ground, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City on Jan. 22, 2014.

Philippine Military Academy Superintendent Vice Admiral Edgar L Abogado AFP will soon retire from service upon reaching the compulsory retirement age of 56 this February 2014. In honor of his thirty-four years of military service, the Philippine Navy awarded him the plaque of Honorable Service, Plaque of Appreciation as Chairman of PN Housing Board, Plaque of Appreciation as Vice Chairman of PN Board of Senior Officers and Flag Rank Command Badge-Gold. Vice Admiral Abogado’s wife, Mrs. Ma. Asuncion Abogado, also received the PN Plaque of Appreciation for her unwavering support which greatly helped her husband’s service for our maritime nation.

Prior his current position, Vice Admiral Abogado also held various PN and AFP key positions. He is the former Chief of Naval Staff, PN Vice Commander and Commander AFP Central Command.

Vice Admiral Abogado is a member of PMA Class 1980 and Philippine Military Academy will hold the final ceremony for his retirement at Fort General Gregorio Del Pilar, Baguio City
