Well, as far as I'm concern, Binay is totally different from BBM and also to all the VP and even Pres. Candidates with regards to Platform etc. si Sen. Miriam lang at sya ang very much qualified na alam ang ginagawa, kaso nga lang ay may sakit si Sen. Miriam.

I do believe na the approach of BBM with regards to China in WPS will be totally different from Binay if he is given the chance to lead. Syempre di naman yan tanga na kakausapin ang China ng hindi handa, lalong di katulad ng iba na nagsasabi na mag jetski pa at hamunin ng suntukan o barilan ang China.. :drunk: DITO PA LAMANG MAKIKITA MO NA ANG KLASE NG PAG IISIP NG MGA KANDIDATO NA GUSTO NG IBANG TAO NA SUPORTAHAN PARA PATAKBUHIN ANG PILIPINAS?? KAYA MAG ISIP ISIP NA KAYO...

Re; Vietnam on China, of course there's only border that's separates them, they both don't have a choice.. kung baga "areglong pusa" lang mga yan.

Maybe for now, due to intense of the WPS issues, we really don't have a choice but to play with the US, but in long term, it is best that we prepare our Country's AFP to the fullest to be able to stand alone and much better with NO or minimal US links with regards to Military Equipments for AFP. sa totoo lang di ko alam kung sino iboboto ko, it's like trying to pick from a bunch of soon to spoil fruits. I'm getting mixed signals from Duterte, I dont really know how he will stand on this issue (and from reading online, who really does?). The others have a trapo vibe to varying degrees except for miriam but is she still really campaigning?

my issue with bongbong was when he first started criticising the military for Scarborough incident. He said that AFP worsened it by sending a military ship, this shows how ignorant he was about the timeline of events of the incident. The GDP was the one which encountered the poachers on its way to monitor the nokor missile launch up north. Knowing that both the PN and PCG have very limited assets to apprehend poachers and it was the closest to the area, it should be the one to intercept rather than wait for PCG assets which may not make it on time to apprehend. So where was marcos coming from when he said the AFP militarized and aggravated the incident? Isn't it the mandate of both agencies to intercept and apprehend violators of Philippine laws as much as they can specially in light that both have very limited assets and would need to cooperate and share duties and contribute assets for this to a certain extent. The PN have previously apprehended poachers before even near the Spratly area and no Filipino have raised criticism about them.

It was only after Scarborough that politicians like marcos have been hitting Philippine actions and that it should just talk to china without even waiting for the ITLOS decision (IIRC he was already saying this even before the Philippines filed the case), which I think is unwise for Philippine interest in light of what the Sec del Rosario had revealed during his interview on ANC.

@ganymmede90,

It's really a cases to case basis re; timeline of events and sometimes we make mistakes like everybody does. Like I said if BBM, maybe given the chance, I'm pretty sure that his approach would be different.. For me, kung ako si PNoy during that particular time, regardless of anything, panindigan ko ang pagpapadala ko ng Warship. Sigurado ako that during that time, GDP Captain had it if w/ the go signal from Malacanang, to give warning and fire a warning shot on those CMS before they can even approach the GDP eh na iba na ang kwento. Kasi in any kind of Rules of Engagements, for any Warship, di ka basta makalapit unless you state your business.. Either threats on AIR or Sea bourne. I'm pretty sure na may stand down orders from Malacanang kaya nakalapit at walang nagawa ang GDP.

I truly believe there's conspiracy on PH side under the present, in everything that's happening in WPS right now, regardless of ITLOS filing, soft AFPM, not to mention choices of Priorities, Cancelled plans, bids, delays etc. considering that all of those are a matter of National Security Emergency, passive approach to PH Foreign Policy(. bagkos, para lang walang nangyayari para sa kanila(Govt) at chilax lang nna dinadaan sa puro salita.. as their usual

So let's not be thankful for the present's fete w/ regards to current AFPM accomplishments, u can maybe say that "it's better than nothing?" or than previous Govts. but kita niyo naman ang kapalit, kung gaano ang nawala sa atin o ang problema natin sa WPS.. it's all just for SHOW.

Hence if this Govt. just maintained it's mandate in Scarborough Shoal like originally patrolled by PF11 then, firing warning shots on any intruding poachers, wala sana tayong problema sa Panatag Shoal.-

It's pretty clear that this article is another one of the Aquino/ LP's desperate demolition job for Sen. FMJr, reason why they included him here..
The vice-president succeeds the president in case the latter dies or is otherwise removed from power, such as through impeachment or, ah, constitutionally-sanctioned popular/civil-military revolt. Consider the implications.

Setting aside what happened before (Martial Law days), come to think of it, the Filipino People back then got a lot of benefits from Pres. Marcos Sr. much more the Country, lots of Infrastructures, livelihood projects, Agricultural Developments et al which most are currently being used up to now. Even most of the PH Laws, decrees that the present is using are done by Marcos.

Imagine 30 years on and we are only here? Deep in free for all Graft n Corruption pit, our Country's coffers, Natural Resources are monopolised by the same Business Elites (Anti-Marcos Rich) who are the only ones benefiting for the last 30 yrs, the same People who used the ordinary Filipinos to topple Marcos.

If there's a true culprit of ALL the chaos, it's NINOY. From Sabah Malaysia connection, MILF, NPA, Brains in Plaza Miranda bombing exposed by then Sen. Salongga etc.

Let's NOT GO for the yellows propaganda any more, same with the Rich Capitalist.. ENOUGH!

Vote for the one that truly cares for the Country and the Filipino's WELL BEING.

FYI, Out of all the candidates, Pres and Vpres. combined, only the "Namesake", Marcos's Son stands out with regards to clear platform for the Country and the Filipino People, not to mention the way he acts and behave during debates or any kind of gathering. For the first time in 30 yrs, this is the only time, again I've heard something with sense from a TRUE Patriotic Politician with true track record to back his platforms, a proven doer, a person that clearly will put the Country and the Filipinos interests first as the main course of action.

This is the reason maybe WHY he's on top of all National Surveys.

Zambales fishermen file rights case vs China before UN
By: Ansbert B. Joaquin, InterAksyon.com
June 24, 2015 2:39 PM

SUBIC BAY FREEPORT ZONE, Philippines -- Representatives of fishermen’s groups in the towns of Subic and Masinloc in Zambales have filed an urgent online petition with the United Nations against what they described as “massive and gross human rights violations” committed against them by state agents of the People’s Republic of China.

The complaint cites several instances when Chinese coast guard vessels have turned Filipino fishermen away, including at least one incident in which their boats were bombarded by a water cannon and rammed, from the disputed Scarborough Shoal, which is also known as Panatag Shoal and Bajo de Masinloc, after the town in whose jurisdiction it belongs.

“We want a declaration that China is violating the Filipino fishermen’s right to life, right to means of living and right to food,” lawyer Harry Roque, one of the 38 fishermen’s counsel, said at a press conference before the petition was filed.

SOUTH CHINA SEA | Beijing lines up diplomatic allies vs PH's arbitration case
By: Ben Dooley, Agence France-Presse
May 25, 2016 11:30 AM

BEIJING -- The disputed rocks and reefs of the South China Sea are more than an ocean away from the landlocked African nation of Niger.

But that has not stopped the strife-ridden, largely desert country of 17 million people adding its voice to a growing diplomatic chorus that Beijing says supports its rejection of an international tribunal hearing on the waters.

Others apparently singing from the same hymn sheet include Togo, Afghanistan and Burundi.

They are among the latest foot soldiers in "a public relations war" by China aimed at questioning international maritime rules, said Ashley Townshend, a research fellow at the United States Studies Centre at the University of Sydney.

Palace to China: US does not intervene in West PH Sea arbitration case
By: Jelly F. Musico, Philippines News Agency
May 30, 2016 8:41 AM

MANILA - A Malacanang official on Sunday denied China's allegation that the United States is intervening in the arbitration case filed by the Philippines against China over the disputed West Philippine Sea (WPS).

”In our view, we have no proof to that kind of allegation,” Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Secretary Herminio Coloma Jr. said in an interview with state-run Radyo ng Bayan.

He explained that the United States’ participation in the international meetings such as Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), and US-ASEAN Special Summit was only a declaration of support for rules-based and peaceful resolutions of the disputes on maritime entitlements in the WPS.

US senator urges Asian nations to back binding South China Sea ruling
Published June 3, 2016 5:24pm

SINGAPORE - Influential US Senator John McCain said on Friday he feared for the consequences if China rejected an impending UN court ruling on the South China Sea dispute and called on Asian nations to back US statements that the outcome should be binding.

In a speech in Singapore ahead of a key regional security forum, McCain, who chairs the US Senate's Armed Services Committee, said enforcement of the ruling of the Permanent Court of Arbitration at The Hague would be a major test for the region.

The Philippines has gone to the court to contest China's claim to an area of the sea stretching deep into the maritime heart of Southeast Asia, covering hundreds of disputed islands and reefs. Vietnam, Malaysia, Taiwan and Brunei also claim parts of the sea. China refuses to recognize the case.

Upcoming UN ruling on PHL’s case vs. China dominates Asian security summit
Published June 4, 2016 7:34am
By GREG TORODE and MARIUS ZAHARIA, Reuters

SINGAPORE — Thailand's prime minister and India's defense minister called on Friday for upholding international law as they spoke at an Asian security summit that is being held ahead of a key UN court ruling on the South China Sea dispute.

But both stopped short of saying that the decision by the the Permanent Court of Arbitration at The Hague, likely within weeks, should be binding. The Philippines has gone to court to contest China's claims to an area of the sea stretching deep into the maritime heart of Southeast Asia.

"We support peaceful resolution of the disputes in line with international law, including UNCLOS," Thai Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha said in his keynote address at the Shangri-La Dialogue, referring to the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea.

Earlier, influential US Senator John McCain said he feared for the consequences if China rejected the UN court's ruling and called on Asian nations to back US statements that the outcome should be binding.
