as a person representing the fishermen, he should concentrate his efforts on helping the people he is representing. not some other matter which concerns him less.

Akbayan, Bayan, Bayan Muna, Pamalakaya, Gabriela, etc....THEY ARE ALL ON THE SAME PAGE... to criticize government initiatives and works(particularly if GI's are involved). That is what they are. And who pays them? Well, we as tax payers!!! Just imagine how many congressmen/senators they have in the Legislative Branch of the Govt! I am an activist myself during my early years but never i fought a government that is doing the right thing! They need to fight if gov't is doing wrong, that is a REAL ACTIVIST. They are all the same as NPAs, only they don't have arms to fight with. They have good media relations for them to be heard. How much do they pay the media? Well, better ask them. Well, the anti-pork barrel activists are fighting for a legit cause. Those leftist activists are barking up the wrong tree. It will be better if they join anti-pork barrel rallies instead!

NO NO NO they cannot join the anti-pork barrel rally coz their cause is different. Have you seen the news during the Luneta march where these activists were boooed by the people march rallyist? The anti-pork activist are much much more brighter and smarter than them!

The Philippines is Building a New Naval Base in South China Sea By Zachary Keck October 8, 2013 The Philippines is building a new naval base in the South China Sea amid growing tensions with China, Philippine officials told local and international media outlets for the first time last week. The new naval base will be located on Oyster Bay, “a postcard-perfect cove on Palawan Island,” according to Reuters. Oyster Bay is 550 km (340 miles) southwest of Manila, the Filipino capitol city, and just 160 km (100 miles) from the Spratly Islands, a fiercely contested area in the South China Sea. Talking to Reuters about the Oyster Bay base for the first time last week, Commodore Joseph Rostum O. Peña, commander of the Philippines' western navy, said “It will be a mini-Subic,” a reference to the large air and naval bases the U.S. used to maintain in the Philippines before the parliament voted to expel Washington from the country in 1991. It was the United States’ largest military installation in Southeast Asia. http://thediplomat.com/flashpoints-blog/2013/10/08/the-philippines-is-building-a-new-naval-base-in-south-china-sea/ |

With regards to the "Mini Subic" tag. A term which is misleading and attracts to much attention from its detractors... The following posts by Vermonter says otherwise:
This is what your media should indicate in their reports. Ironic when it takes Janes' IHS to portray it for what it really is. Edited by Hong Nam, Dec 6 2013, 05:53 PM.

Reminds of the 'world class' airport in Pag-asa. LoL. When in fact they are just going to repair the airstrip. |

Sometimes we can't blame the media either. Most often times they just literally "quote" their sources. For example the "mini-Subic" label was quoted from Commodore Pena. Our media lacks investigative reporting and pretty much just "quote reporting" w/o knowing if it even makes sense or not. |
