Besides C-130s, MaxDefense also received information that other aircraft types from American EDA stocks are also being eyed for transfer to the Philippine Air Force, either via grant or Foreign Military Sales (FMS), including helicopters, special missions aircraft (for further confirmation) and fighter aircraft.

MaxDefense will update you regarding this topic upon availability of more information.

Helicopters? Could it be the rumoured 2 helicopters to replace the Bell 412 of the 250th PAW?

"For those who passed by the Mactan-Cebu International Airport, you may have seen three parked C-130s on the apron. These three aircraft are currently not operational, and are the only units found by PAF and Lockheed Martin specialists as acceptable for re-commissioning after extensive refurbishment and repair."

"According to MaxDefense sources, these 3 units (2 C-130B and an L-100 civilian version) will undergo in-house refurbishing and repair similar to what was done last year to C-130B tail no. 3633. It will be done by the PAF's 410th Maintenance Wing although the work might be done in Cebu, not in the wing's Clark Air Base facility. Information given to MaxDefense regarding these 3 C-130s is not yet final though, any may change depending on the situation in the next few months."

If everthing goes as planned. I'd be happy to see those 3 C-130s finally get back in the air. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Is it the reason why our PAF personnel have been tagging along when the P-3's were here the last couple of years? Maybe those P-3's are really coming? I'm curious about the fighter aircrafts. F-16's or F-18's? Now that they know we are ordering the FA-50's they see that we are committed. I guess that's all what they're waiting from us in defense of our nation. Anything on the naval vessels?

As of now, I have intercepted none of this.

Maxdefense is really well-informed, I see.

Anyway, I couldn't comment much on something I really don't know, but I say that due to the amount of defense cuts that U.S. is making, acquisition of vessels might be a upcoming possibility.

my hunches:

Multimission aircraft - to be retired P3 Orions for MPA/ASW
Helicopters - more Hueys and converted Huey 2's
Fighter aircraft - if given PMS on platforms and minimal upgrades will be the F16 Block32's
- if G2G, and with credible allocated budget for MRF program it will be the F18 C/D
Reasons for my hunches : Lots of it on the boneyard, and given away FMS to allied countries. Ours may well be on the forefront of the PIVOT TO ASIA focus of the US. Thus, i think were on the center of this program than either Indonesia or Pakistan who had gotten juicy sources of FMS than ours. That will have to change given China's
