Police to acquire tricycles to beef up fleet of patrol vehicles www.interaksyon.com By Abigail C. Kwok If Dubai's police force has posh Lamborghinis for its patrol cars, the Philippine National Police (PNP) has something more local in mind--tricycles. The PNP plans to add tricycles to its fleet of patrol vehicles in an effort to save money while at the same time maximize mobility. A lot of these tricycles are being used by policemen, mostly donated by LGUs and Congressmen with some Multi-cabs.![]() ![]() What the PNP should do is do joint patrol with the Barangays and village security by riding shotgun on their patrol vehicles. A lot of Barangays have their own patrol vehicles. ![]() PNP Vehicles can then be placed on standby on strategic locations where they could respond quickly if needed.
