MiG-27 aircraft crashes in Rajasthan's Barmer district, pilot ejects safely

A MiG-27 aircraft of the Indian Air Force crashed in Rajasthan's Barmer district on Tuesday. Pilot Wing Commander Nishikant Singh ejected on time and was rushed to the Jodhpur's Military Hospital where his condition was said to be stable and out of danger.

The aircraft was on a routine sortie when it crashed near a hamlet, Allawani- Ki- Dhani, 30 km from Barmer, in the Western sector, said defence spokesman Colonel S D Goswami.

The MiG-27 took off at 3.55 pm from Uttarlai air base and crashed immediately after taking off at 3.57 pm at distance of about 3 km from the base.
