Philippines-India relationship is a curious case for me. China is upping the ante getting bolder day by day and we both are on the receiving end. Still no cooperation!!! India is cooperating with a communist state like Vietnam to counter china but democracies like Phils and India which share so many common values still ignoring each other :dunno:
Hello brother, If I'm not mistaken our President has a sideline meeting with your PM Singh at the ASEAN meet in Cambodia, However we have limited info on what are the topic was but surely it is a good step in breaking the ice so to speak, I just hope that India is fully aware of our defense need right now PH has urgent needs for AH due to Fennec's cancellation. Hope your defence supplier is interested and should try marketing the DHRUV or the BRAHMOS for our missile defence...well that was just my opinion.

It was just a formal meeting I guess. Nothing concrete came out. Its not about arms deal only. I was expecting greater cooperation in terms of capacity building through exercises and most importantly to develop interoperability if need arises for two countries to work together. Atleast we can conduct joint naval exercise apart from anti piracy drills we are doing right now. Also both our armies are pretty good at counter insurgency and jungle warfare. They can come together and hold a wargame.

As for Brahmos, having spent some time in this forum I can say that Philippines may need it but it doesn't want it at this point of time. May be some years later when you really want to add some serious offensive capabilities.

If I were the PN and CG, I would be closely monitoring if those 3 Chinese ships in SCS would ride out or leave the shoal if the super Typhoon will affect it. The eye of the typhoon need not directly pass the WPS as it is big enough that as long as you are within the vicinity you will get affected.

Wag lang sila kukupad-kupad at maglagay agad ng lumang CG or navay ships duon at anchor away.

Problem is the Chinese ships could be far more foul weather capable than the PCG ships, they could stay there to weather out the the typhoon while the PCG ships could not even venture out.

I think the only PH ship that could endure severe sea states is Goyo but its no longer a white ship.

They should wait for the dust to settle immediately after the typhoon passes and insert themselves inside the shoal if the opportunity present themselves.

Definitely not during the peak of the storm - that is almost suicidal.

Pablo is a 600-km wide typhoon, it could severely affect Panatag on its way out of PAR.

Maybe the Chinese vessels would vacate the area ahead of the typhoon.

^I'm hoping for that and then our CG and/or Navy insert themselves immediately after the storm passes. That is if they have the foresight and if hindi sila kukupad-kupad at walang Senator na pipigil.
