Spear, Originally the only SE Asian members where Philippines and Thailand the rest are from the North and EU Countries, so it's the same... Go Manny!

Thats why it cannot be another SEATO because i doubt the willingness of Thailand to wage war against china. Remember, the only reason why there were SEATO because we all had a common goal, a common enemy during that time, and it was a fight against the spread of communism. Today its different, and our ASEAN friends are enjoying much of their economic trading with China. And China is not about to spread communism but a military and economic expansion in asia by illegally grabbing WPS territories for resources. |

I really just wish am wrong on my analysis, my observation may not be that realistic too but i really hope that the next chinese communist part national election at next year's March, whoever wins should abide and respect the international laws so we could all be closer to a peaceful resolution and not resort in a military conflict. |

China only recognizes their own ways, laws, rules to follow doesn't give a damn about the International Community and only thinks about "YOU OWE ME" to shut them up and the non stop building up their Military in order to defeat the US. |

SEATO II could be tough. That was set up to prevent the communism to spread. There are friendly countries like Vietnam that may apply and there goes your mission statement. Also too many differences to settle between, Malaysia vs. Singapore, Malaysia vs. Philippines, Thailand vs. Cambodia, Vietnam vs. Cambodia plus the communist countries like Vietnam which are friendly. Maybe more like FEATO - Far East Asia Treaty Organization. If only Korea and Japan could settle their differences it would be nice start with them with the US and Australia. We all share the democratic ideals. But this time with a military component like NATO. We can probably include Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Brunei, Indonesia. That should put a headlock on China's expansionism. Don't know about Thailand. They are becoming more like a little China. My Thai cousins confirms it. Thousands of Chinese teachers were recently hired. You know where that's heading. Our Indo-Malay brothers may go with us but always with apprehension. Singapore is pretty much independent minded and will go along where the democratic countries are. Vietnam is friendly but they need to change their system of government. SEATO 2 If ever, It won't be about being against Communism, but more on containing China, more like MDT/ NATO partnership peace keepers of SE Asia. |

China doesn't know what the term "international law" means |
If you don't want a modern and capable AFP, you might want to get the f*ck off the Philippines because you don't deserve to be a Filipino that's why!

PH hits China threat to int’l shipping By Tarra Quismundo Philippine Daily Inquirer 1:07 am | Sunday, December 2nd, 2012 MANILA, Philippines—The Philippines has denounced China’s plan to board foreign ships sailing through what Beijing claims to be its territory in the West Philippine Sea (South China Sea) region in the latest irritant between the two countries. The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Saturday said the latest Chinese provocation should be condemned by the international community as it violates maritime domains of countries in the region and impede freedom of navigation. “If media reports are accurate, this planned action by China is illegal and will validate the continuous and repeated pronouncements by the Philippines that China’s claim of indisputable sovereignty over virtually the entire South China Sea is not only an excessive claim but a threat to all countries,” the DFA said in a statement. “[It] deserves international condemnation by Asean (Association of Southeast Asian Nations), our international partners and the entire community of nations,” it said further. The DFA said it wants Beijing to “immediately clarify its reported plans to interdict ships that enter what it considers its territory in the South China Sea.” It said the Philippines was concerned that ships entering waters claimed by China, which is “virtually the entire South China Sea… can be boarded, inspected, detained, confiscated, immobilized and expelled, among other punitive actions.” MORE: http://globalnation.inquirer.net/58481/ph-hits-china-threat-to-intl-shipping |
