They dont want it talked about in the summit knowing fully well that their claim/s is/are bogus and preposterous.

No ASEAN Agreement on South China Sea
ntdtv.org

Quote:

The initial announcement was made by Cambodia, chair of ASEAN and close ally of China. But on Monday, as Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen began to conclude the meeting, Philippine President Benigno Aquino abruptly interrupted and said the consensus had never been reached.

The Chinese regime has aggressively asserted claims to the oil rich waters in the South China Sea. It’s expressed a preference to handle disputes bilaterally and not through organizations like ASEAN.

On Monday, Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda accused Cambodia of using its position as ASEAN chair to limit talks on the dispute, warning it could impact on the region’s peace and stability.

The fresh tensions came ahead of a meeting between US President Barack Obama and ASEAN leaders. Obama will also meet with Wen Jiabao on Tuesday.

^ I doubt there will any be any consensus agreement within ASEAN. At least 1 member country is already exposed and I think at least another 1-2 ASEAN country is secretly in cahoots with China but pretending to be neutral and therefore more dangerous.

ano ba paki ng china sa asean summit? dapat ba lahat in favor or theres only a min number of votes to come up with a resolution? this is an obvious case of meddling by china and theyre the country thats causing trouble and why is it that theyre somehow has a vote on this? :headbang:

imo, if a country is caught in cahoots with china should be punished by asean. theyre not acting with the best interest of the asean, only of themselves.
dapat i-expell! :brrt: :pistols:

A rude Manila helps no one
www.asianewsnet.net

Disregarding the cooperative atmosphere among East Asian countries, a few countries, including the Philippines, once again attempted to play up the disputes over the South China Sea.

When Cambodia, this year's Asean chair, said at a meeting on Monday that the bloc had agreed not to "internationalise" the rifts, it was very rude of Philippine President Benigno Aquino III to interrupt and rebuke Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen, alleging that no such consensus had been reached and he would continue to speak out on the global stage.

Aquino's undiplomatic move was ill-advised, and will not help solve the issue in peace. It was also unwise of the Philippine Foreign Ministry to say on Wednesday that it will sponsor a meeting of some claimant countries next month.

Manila should know that "not to internationalise the South China Sea issue" is one of the fundamentals written in the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the South China Sea, which was reached 10 years ago by China and Asean countries including the Philippines.

These puppet reporters just cannot grasp the impotent position of philippines in bilateral setting with china. They just don't understand that 'internationalizing' the issue is our only recourse. Otherwise, china will have a good grabbing spree in wps, or, if we really stand our ground, will come to shootout and regional war or conflict with USA on our side.
