Most likely the older B-105 and not the donated refurbished one that was recently commissioned last year with PF-15 ...

This means that either they were wearing proper gear, or the failure was somewhat offset by proper crash landing procedures.

I was wrong, the B-105 that crashed was actually the one that was donated by the DOTC and was commissioned into PN service just last December ...

Residents of Sta Cruz, Sorsogon try to pull a Philippine Navy chopper out of the sea on Tuesday. The chopper, which made an emergency landing off Sorsogon shore, was part of the search and retrieval operations in Masbate that carried four Navy personnel and this photographer. All passengers were safe.

Looks more like a crashed to me than a precautionary landing , the chopper is probably useless now ...

^^Its the same thing as crash landind. Nope, evrything is always repairable as long as they got available spare parts and the right tools to use.

The main turboshaft doesn't seem to be underwater.

That's good, and as long as the rotors are intact, it's still economically salvageable. The tail gearbox and rotor (if broken, I hope not) are the thing we would have a minor headache.

Hopefully it can be salvage and put back into flying condition again as the PN is back to just 1 B-105 chopper again ...
