DFA denies reports Chinese ships left Panatag Shoal
GMA News Online
July 4, 2013

The Department of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday belied reports that Chinese warships have left Panatag Shoal.

"They come back and forth. The intrusion into our national territory continue," Foreign Affairs spokesman Raul Hernandez said in a text message to GMA News Online.

Citing a senior security official, who refused to be named, PhilStar.com reported Thursday that "maritime and aerial monitoring showed no sign of any Chinese ship within the immediate vicinity of Panatag nor within its 75-nautical-mile radius."

For his part, in a separate phone interview Thursday morning, Philippine Coast Guard spokesman Lt. Cmdr. Armand Balilio said he has no information on the matter. —KG, GMA News

Maybe they left SCS coz they found out there is no oil to contest with and they are now concentrating on the 2nd Thomas Reef, our Ayungin Shoal.... Let us see and wait for the next chapter of their occupation!

These statements from DND, DFA, AFP, PCG, PN, etc., sometimes really do create some confusion... One of them release some reports/statements and the other will deny/belie... it's been happening for quite some time now... they need to sort this issue out...

The problem with PN-DND, DFA, Office of the President, and PCG-DOTC is that they have overlapping functions and responsibilities in relation to the West Philippine Sea situation that everyone of them wants to be ahead of each other in dealing with news and issues about it. Can they come up with only one spokesperson to deal with the situation so that all are in harmony when asked about the WPS update???

I dont think we can move in, China's pullout may be the result of Kerry's prodding during the recent ASEAN meeting in Brunei.

"Gorio could have forced Chinese ships to leave Panatag"
July 5, 2013 - 5:15pm

MANILA, Philippines - Defense Secretary Voltaire Gazmin said Friday that bad weather could have forced the Chinese fishing vessels to leave Panatag Shoal.

"I guess this is really what they do during inclement weather. May Gorio noon tayo," Gazmin said, referring to tropical storm Gorio that hit the country early this week.

Gazmin made the announcement as he confirmed that the Chinese ships, which have been occupying the shoal near Zambales province since April last year, has left the area.

Isn't Gorio similar to Goyo? Also a nickname for Gregorio?
