Chinese 'Start Building Structures' on Panatag Shoal - Military Sources

http://www.interaksyon.com/article/63458/chinese-start-building-structures-on-panatag-shoal---military-sources

MANILA, Philippines -- China has begun constructing structures on disputed Panatag (Scarborough) Shoal, and its vessels have been unloading gravel, stone, cement and metal, highly placed military sources told InterAksyon.com Thursday. The sources, who spoke on condition they not be named, also said defense officials are in possession of satellite photos that prove the Chinese activity on the disputed shoal, which the Philippines also calls Bajo de Masinloc, for the Zambales town to which it belongs.

The defense and military establishments have already in (their) possession satellite photographs of what the Chinese are actually doing on our shoal. At least three Chinese big ships, on a rotation basis, are maintaining their presence on the shoal, aside from fishing vessels that are unloading sacks of gravel, stone, cement, and metals, one of the sources said.In one media interview, Defense Secretary Voltaire Gazmin said the Chinese had already roped off the entrance to the shoal, a rich fishing ground, to prevent Filipino fishermen from entering.
its time to send ships now if its true that they are unloading construction materials-this is the red line in my humble opinion no matter what the odds.. otherwise we will have another mischief reef in the making. we need to call their bluff , and start ramming, if they fire then things will rapidly escalate. and the shipping lanes will shut down. no other choice but to act now assuming its true,

I concur. Time for "active non-violence". It's also time to do what they are doing - Upgrade 2nd Thomas Shoal to a permanent structure, and build up the long neglected Kalayaan Island. It takes 2 to tango. He who blinks first loses.

it only takes to send the civilian branch of our security (PCG) to show our presence. we can take over it by force but not militarily. if they send the military and fires the first shot and injures or even kills our own people. then its up to the media to rapidly escalate this to the center stage of the world and show how irresponsible and childish china really is. its like turning the tables. steal their game rename it and make them play our rules. similar to what the chinese doing at the senkakus, intimidating the japs to fire the first shot.

in all honesty, and I can say this with the utmost certainty, P-noy will not send any ship to the Scarborough shoal.. expect Abigail Valte to utter the following words: "we will not escalate the situation by sending ships to the area, we will just file another diplomatic protest"

expect it..

See what this philosophy of ''filing diplomatic protests , and do nothing else because we pride ourselves as a peace loving nation'' got you , Gazmin.

I've said again and again , it's a matter of time before they make it a Mischief 2.0 .

With no external help , the so called ''diplomatic channels'' don't mean jack sxxx , when other nations either don't really care (European , South American nations) , rely on China for trade/bailouts/cash (European nations,South Korea) , can't do anything (Japan,Vietnam) or simply afraid (USA?).

Yes I know the JCG,PN is poorly equipped , but I don't see how its not possible to send two/three PCG boats to the shoal weekly at least?

Better hope the wreck at Thomas Shoal doesn't break up in the near future.

Let me repeat:

"I always try to be positive in everything but with the looks of what is happening now...even if we get a favorable decision from UCLOS...we have LOST the Scarborough Shoal...LITERALLY...its a good thing I DID NOT VOTE FOR Pnoy! :headbang: "

The next best step for us is to send in the PCG and retake what is ours...the time for diplomatic protest is over...it's now time to act :salute: ...its now a matter of National Defense...wake up Mr. President!

This sounds crazy, but I just think, and I do emphasize think, that DND is thinking along this line; They will counsel the president to not send ships because it may give China a reason to initiate war. Seeing that the Chinese are very irrational and two-sided when it comes to making decisions, this might just be a valid observation on their part, seeing that our government is playing a non-provocative game.

Please take note that the president could make decisions on a whim and is quite dependent on whatever his advisers are telling him. So do not blame the president wholeheartedly; blame the people to advise him incorrectly.

Sending PCG ships, I believed, does not means we are initiating war. If we are to send PN ships then that is a different story. How about filing another diplomatic protest :lollol: ?

Haven't you learned the value of patience? If we act now, then we will lose! Don't you grasp the logic of the current situation? If we act like brave and valiant idiots then we have thrown away people for nothing! At least, when we get UNCLOS in favor to us, then we can act, regardless of Chinese opposition!

Well...we did not act...we did not became brave and valiant idiots...but we still lose didn't we?
