The rope is made in China. It probably didn't last long. If they placed a new one. It won't last long either. Let's just hope and pray they keep doing it until bankruptcy is eminent or they realize it is a money losing venture and just cease. |

Fishermen Caught Out by South China Sea Spat Author: By Tomas Etzler for CNN Published: Feb 18 2013 09:55:08 PM EST http://www.wfmz.com/news/Fishermen-caught-out-by-South-China-Sea-spat/-/121458/18977842/-/d6ftlw/-/index.html LUZON, Philippines (CNN) - A year ago, a fisherman Efren Forones came back from fishing trips with up to three and half tons of fish. In return he was able to buy 15 to 20 kilos of rice for his family every month and was planning to send at least one of his six children to college. Not any more. He now returns with just 400 kilos of catch at best, meaning he can only afford one to two kilos of rice a month, while school for his children is an expensive luxury and out of the question. The reason? He says he can longer fish in the fertile waters around Scarborough Shoal. A cluster of uninhabitable sand banks and small rocks set in a shallow azure water lagoon about 130 miles (200 km) west from the Philippine island of Luzon, Scarborough Shoal is one of a number of territories at the center of an international dispute in the South China Sea. He says the Shoal is the most important fishing ground in this region. "They (the Chinese) shoo us away, will not allow Filipinos to come near the area," he says. "They are the only ones that can fish there, not us. We lost Scarborough and it is hard. We earn nothing." |

China Likely to Increase Panatag Shoal Presence http://www.philstar.com/headlines/2013/04/11/929525/china-likely-increase-panatag-shoal-presence-expert (philstar.com) | Updated April 11, 2013 - 5:52pm MANILA, Philippines - Chinese vessels are not likely to leave the Panatag (Scarborough) Shoal and may even increase their patrolling activities in the area, a security expert said on Thursday.Russell Smith, Asia Pacific director of critical information provider IHS, said China would maintain its presence in the area not for economic gain but to assert its sovereignty. I can see the Chinese increasing their patrol activity. I know last week, the Chinese marine surveillance vessels were operating, Smith told reporters in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig.I dont think it is the riches (as) some portray it to be. It is a sovereignty issue, he added. Smith is the Asia Pacific specialist for IHS, publisher of Janes Defence Weekly, which provides news and analysis on security developments worldwide. He made the statement a year after Chinese vessels started intruding into the Panatag Shoal, located 124 nautical miles from the nearest base point in Zambales. Again I'm being very critical here. What the F is the BRP Gregorio del Pilar for then? Or the 4 San Juan class or the 4 IIocos Norte class boats? Chinese boats have been sitting right on top of the shoal for a WHOLE year. Chinese fishing boats have been freely parking inside the shoal. What's the reasoning of the Ph government for not sending a few boats there regularly and escorting Filipino fishermen in the area? If I'm the man in charge , I'll set up a special task force (4 coast guard boats , 2 boats as a group, on rotation) and accompany fishing boats to prevent Chinese ships from chasing them out. Desperate times call me desperate measures and preservation. The point here is that you need to make a presence , nomatter how small it'll be. Yes complaining to the UN etc, but let's be honest , in everyone's eyes , the Ph gov gives the impression that it has already given up the territory. I will not be surprised at all if a ''fishing shelter'' is set up on the shoal in a short future. If I were the Chinese decision making man , I certainly would. Not even a single Filipino boat to challenge my occupation since June/July. What am I afraid of? Upgrade it into a military outpost with radar. Use this and the Mischief reef as the basis for my nine dash claim. Next stop . Reed Back. Stuff like this , or the ultra slow response to the new Chinese passport, or keep trying to appease China by overstressing repeatedly that the modernization has nothing to do with China (when China is literally giving you the middle finger in your face) . God the cowardice of this Filipino government sickens me. |

So now what the hell is the government doing in regards to Panatag? |
If you don't want a modern and capable AFP, you might want to get the f*ck off the Philippines because you don't deserve to be a Filipino that's why!
