Less talk, more action please. Just cut the ropes already. And restore that lighthouse and garrison around it. Look at the Japanese. They know talking does not work with the Chinese. That's why the Tokyo government is negotiating with the owners of the Senkaku Islands. Buy the islands outright and possibly place a garrison or two there. |

Let's just say that I 100% agree with you in principle. But I don't want to be accused of being a war-monger and stoke the embers of an already volatile situation. So officially, I will just say "No Comment". Maybe something is afoot but it is OPSEC. Covert Ops? Plausible Denial?

I beg to disagree on "do absolutely no action". Our best lawyers have been working on legal aspects. Our best diplomats are working on the diplomatic aspects. And our Commander-in-Chief is working hard on the political and military aspects. Your AFP is on stand by and is ready for any eventuality. What is lacking is the opinion and readiness of the people as a whole - and this is the one you are seeing right now - no action! Capt. Faeldon was right when he mentioned it on Dong Puno's Kalibre 41 interview last August 8. |

DFA hopes China will take out the ropes Just cut the f*cking rope and start building a fisherman's shelter and have those Filipino fishermen stay on the shoal guarded by our Navy. Do the same sh*t they did on Mischief reef. |

I dont know why it is taking so long for the government to decide or to take decisive actions on these issue. Are they still formulating plans or they just dont want to piss off China? I hope this does not end in another mischief reef and then "magtuturuan na naman" mga ahensya ng gobyerno sa lapses nila.

Time for a history lesson, I think. I agree with you, Mr. Samir, and here's my proof that your action could be for the good. This is a case between former superpowers. Before 1941, Hitler started to send high-altitude planes to scout Russia for Operation Barbarossa (invasion of Soviet Russia), but then, Russia has the capability to intercept those planes, and the local squadron commander asked if they could intercept. But immediately, Stalin ordered this man to be removed from his post. You see? Even a superpower like Russia at Stalin's time is afraid of another young superpower, Germany. So, we need to break the "humility" gene for once and start acting. Although, there is still safety on the side of caution. Although, if Aquino's administration keeps up the "no comment" policy, I think they are trying to implicate China more into the world court. Our administration seem to be letting China to commit crimes at their doorstep, so as to implicate them further when we file a case against them. If I am correct, then I would be saluting Aquino gambit; he's more of a gambler than a poker player at Las Vegas. Edited by Parastriker, Aug 11 2012, 01:22 PM.

I thought I heard in an interview with either Gazmin or Del Rosario a week or two back, that the ropes were already removed... how many times are the Chinese putting ropes in there, or was this already an old news? |

If they have put new ones, then this news is new. If not, then this new is old. |
