Is this Mitos Magsaysay related to Ramon Magsaysay, the former president?
Anyone who comes to a counter-insurgency thinking it`s about killing terrorists is missing the boat. It`s really about winning the people. You can kill all the terrorists but then you`ve pissed people off and created 100 more.

No blood relations whatsoever. She got her Magsaysay name because she married a Magsaysay. Her husband is the one related to the Magsaysay clan. Her father-in-law is former Gov. of Zambales Vicente Magsaysay that belongs to the same political family of former Pres. Ramon Magsaysay.

She's a staunch GMA supporter but may lost the support of GMA loyalists when she flipped & joined the UNA along with Cebu governor Gwen Garcia.

Problem with Mitos Magsaysay is if Jun Magsaysay runs then she's a sure loser.

I hope ruffy Biazon will decide not to run for senator, he is badly needed at the BoC where he is currently doing an excellent job in reforming the agency, along with Gen. Lim.

Can someone kindly indicate who is PRO-AFP modernization and who is against it?

More details would be greatly appreciated. So. I can start calling some old friends and do a little bit of campaigning on their behalf.
:salute:
Thanks Mac!

It should be a given that the ex-military are pro AFP e.g. Trillanes, Lim, Querubin. Hontiveros-Baraquel was an activist but she's also the widow of a PMAer, Col. Frank Baraquel and I heard she's active in assisting police & military dependents. BoC commissioner Ruffy Biazon once posted at the AFP Modernization thread as ruffyb:
