Here we talk about Runescape with me, Shenshun, a Level 55 member. Anyway I'll start off. Today I finished the Elemental Workshop quest today! I got some crafting and smithing xp, and a cool Elemental Shield. When you put it on it goes ZING!

P.S: Right now the only person here I know that plays RS is TC, so anyone else? The site is www.runescape.com ;)

I haven't played runescape in a looooooooooong time... most of my gaming has been on my Xbox 360 playing oblivion lately.

I don't even remember what level my character is.
I'm not here right now, please leave a message... or don't, I really don't care.

It's an online RPG that you have to pay for. It used to be free.

The land is in chaos... You must complete several missions for people in order to bring order to the world. You get to battle trolls, beasts, and other players in order to bring back peace...

The goal in the game is to level up as much as you can and find legandary items in runescape. You get to do alot of stuff. Fishing, blacksmithing, forge your own wepons, use magic, collect items to make more items, trade with other players, sleep, and just plain servive. The goal is not to die because you lose half you items if you do.

You don't sleep anymore, and when you die you keep 3 of your items. (you keep any items stored in a bank though)

I didn't really consider this an old post, since it's the Official Discussion Thread, so uh, here goes:

Is becoming a member really worth the money? I know it's not that much, but what sort of crap stuff do you get as a member?

  • About 30 minigames around the world
  • Your own house
  • Over 100 more quests
  • Nine more skills to train
  • Hundreds more monsters and items
  • Access to post on the forums
  • Dedicated members servers to play on
  • Much more!

Once again, I don't consider this an old post, and besides, I'm only trying to help! ValCrose, I have recently learned that Jagex (RuneScape's parent company, just in case you're wondering.) has came up with an ingenius way to become a RuneScape member. Call Exhibit Q!

Guys on the other side of the room: Q!?

Me: Sorry, did I say Q? I meant A, sorry.

Call Exhibit A!

Now, Jagex has came up with RuneScape Cards, which are cards with a scratch-off thing on the back, like you would find on lottery tickets. Behind it is a code. Enter this code online and you will become a member for 1 month or 3 months, depending on which card you buy. As far as I know, these cards can only be purchased at Target stores. If you can't find them at Target, or if there is no Target where you live, go to target.com and order one. There are no commitments, and you don't have to use a credit card! I hope you enjoy membership! Now, LET'S PARTY!

I am afraid that THAT IS a very old post. It is because a lot could have happened during all this time, and something did happen. I have been a RuneScape member for 3 years now as of this post. This is a perfect example of the reasons old posts are frowned upon. From now on, please just don't do old posts, you could have just PMed me the info that you posted here.

I see. Well, it WAS and STILL IS the Official RuneScape Discussion Thread, is it not? I mean, some people here still want to talk about RuneScape, right? Oh, well. I was just trying to help; you can understand that, right?
I've been a member for about 4 days, and I just wanted to tell you about this new payment option. Now, I have a few questions about RuneScape that only members can answer, so listen up! How exactly do you train hunting and fletching? What is fletching, anyway? It's making bows and arrows, right? I also have a few comments and suggestions: Construction seems to be the fastest and easiest skill to train in the entire game. I mean, just building a single wooden chair advances you a whole construction level! The only problem is that it is SO EXPENSIVE! I earned 20K Coins, and because of all the expenses of Construction, I'm now down to about 9K! Also, here is a quick way to earn gold: Assuming you have completed the Rune Mysteries quest, have Aubury in Varrock teleport you to the Rune Essence mine. Mine it until you have a full inventory. Now go back, run to the bank, stash all the essence away, go back, and do it again. Do this for an hour and sell all the essence on the Grand Exchange. Assuming they all sell, and they sell for 50 coins a piece, you can earn around 20K coins an hour!

The rune essence tip is something that most people know already.. Thanks for informing us however. Just to inform you though, construction is NOT the easiest skill in the game. You were just at the easy levels. Just wait till you are level 50 in that skill... Fletching is easy, use a knife on any kind of logs that you can fletch, choose something that you can make, and voila! Fletching XP. Hunting is only in specific areas. Go to the Fremnicks, go east of their village, then go north of it, there is a large ice cap, on there, you will find that place is the perfect start for hunting...

I met you on Runescape just a minute ago, JCSCHOPP. I was Shenshun, who said hello to you in the mill. I'm assuming you couldn't see me saying that I was PGLB due to the fact you can only see QuickChat.
Anyway, add my character to your friends list when you have the chance.

By the way, ValCrose, do you still play? I recently started playing again. I just need to get up my Herblore level for Legend's Quest.

Actually, I DID see you say that. I was quite surprised to see you there, and you were probably surprised to see me on an Austrailian server. I just go on World 111 'cause it's less crowded. I will add you to my friends list when I log on in a couple of minutes. Oh yeah, one more thing, how on Earth, err, I mean Gielinor, yeah, how on Gielinor do people get the money to buy that dragon armour? How much does that stuff cost, anyway? Doesn't a dragon helmet cost over 1M GP? It took me long enough just to get 100K! Which, by the way, I got from a combination of collecting white berries on Red Dragon Isle and hunting polar kebbits for their furs.

Oh, I just assumed that since you didn't reply to me except when I used QuickChat.
Anyway, there are lots of different ways to make money. Some people kill high-leveled monsters like dragons, and sell their drops (e.g. dragon hide). A way I make money is by turning oak logs to planks and selling them. You can either cut or buy the logs (I usually get about 1000), then run them to the sawmill north of Varrock, and run back to the bank and repeat the process. When all of your logs are turned to planks you can sell them back to the Grand Exchange for a profit, although you need about 300k to start this method.
I recommend defeating Flesh Crawlers from the Stronghold of Security, and picking up their herb and rune drops. This can make you a lot of money as some herbs sell for up to 10k! With a full inventory of grimy ranarr, which is 28 of them, you could make about 250k each trip! You would probably make more money by picking up all herbs, though, because ranarr drops are rarer than drops such as guam and tarromin, and it'd take longer just to wait for ranarrs.
