If you really want to check out where the connection problems come from, please do this: 1. Klick Start-Button 2. Klick Run 3. Type CMD and press Enter 4. Type in the new window: tracert 94.171.233.194 5. You get a result like this (this is my result): 1 1 ms 1 ms 1 ms my.router [192.168.2.1] 2 2 ms 2 ms 2 ms Client [192.168.1.1] 3 10 ms 7 ms 7 ms GW2-RZ1 [10.1.1.199] 4 10 ms 10 ms 10 ms d01.static001.drahtlos-dsl.de [94.100.70.1] 5 10 ms 9 ms 7 ms ip-77-235-170-69.enviatel.net [77.235.170.69] 6 27 ms 20 ms 20 ms 78.152.48.217 7 28 ms 27 ms 26 ms eth3-3.core1.ams1.nl.atrato.net [78.152.44.89] 8 29 ms 26 ms 29 ms eth1-6.core1.ams2.nl.atrato.net [78.152.34.14] 9 30 ms 31 ms 32 ms eth1-7.core1.lon1.uk.atrato.net [78.152.44.157] 10 32 ms 42 ms 31 ms eth1-3.r1.lon1.uk.atrato.net [78.152.44.101] 11 35 ms 33 ms 35 ms virginmedia-ic.lon1.uk.atrato.net [80.94.66.29] 12 44 ms 39 ms 46 ms leed-bb-1c-ae18-0.network.virginmedia.net [212.250.14.145] 13 41 ms 40 ms 47 ms nrth-bb-1c-ae9-0.network.virginmedia.net [62.253.174.122] 14 41 ms 43 ms 39 ms brhm-bb-1c-et-400-0.network.virginmedia.net [62.253.175.189] 15 42 ms 42 ms 44 ms aztw-core-2b-ae0-0.network.virginmedia.net [80.1.240.178] 16 49 ms 47 ms 46 ms aztw-cmts-23-ge332.network.virginmedia.net [80.1.242.114] 17 * * * Request timed out. 18 * * * Request timed out. 19 * * * Request timed out. 20 * * * Request timed out. 21 * * * Request timed out. 22 * * * Request timed out. 23 * * * Request timed out. 24 * * * Request timed out. 25 * * * Request timed out. 26 * * * Request timed out. 27 * * * Request timed out. 28 * * * Request timed out. 29 * * * Request timed out. 30 * * * Request timed out. Trace complete. Every step shown in the list is one station your data has to pass from your machine to the server. When it says "Request timed out" it means that the machine at this step is not answering to this command we use, not that the connections is too slow. The 3 time measures show the time it took to answer at each step. I can say it is a lot of steps to the server for me, specially in the UK. I takes 9 steps to get from Germany to the UK, and 21 to get to the server Dredd uses. Thats a bit odd, but it is what it is. I have no lag issues yet. If I get them i use this command to see if my connection is bad or something on the way makes trouble. Unfortunately we can not check the last 13 steps with this method. Maybe it helps Sid Edited by Sidewinder, Aug 9 2013, 03:09 PM.

Just before the server restarted I had LOSS not LAG. LAG makes playing slower (if it is not wayyyyy slower than normal), LOSS makes it impossible. Sid. |
