The Fix for Multiple Bugs; easy

A few days ago, someone posted on the discoveryGC forum how to fix the bugs that have been affecting the mod since the last update.

I did some tests with my test server, and these are the bugs that are now fixed with this:

-if you logged off while docked on a player base, you respawned 100k under the sun (no longer happens)
-if you logged off while docked in connecticut you couldnt get out again (now you can return)
-player docking didnt work properly (now it does)
-you could only build 1 kind of defense platform (now you can build all 3 types)

In addition, people said that these 2 thigns are also fixed, but I couldnt check if its true
-hyperspace jumping now works more precisely
-the anti-cheat is better somehow
-some uppercase lowercase stuff that had some sort of repercussion on some tech dont know what exactly

To fix all thes bugs, you just need to go here and replace the files in the EXE and EXE\flhook_plugins:

http://forge.the-starport.net/projects/flhookplugin/repository/revisions/194

What is in the bin folder there goes into the EXE folder on the server what is in bin/flhook_plugins goes in EXE\flhooks_plugins

I don't know what the thing in the /lib folder does or where it goes, I think its only for people who program plugins.

If you want to make a backup copy of the old files, do it in another folder. If you have something like base.dll and base_old.dll, Freelancer will try to run both at the same time, and it wont work.

On the same page of Cannon's repository there are 2 more updates which also allegedly improve stuff (update 195 and 196, the one I linked was 194 and the one that included all). I guess you can install the last one 196 too I (just download the file and replace the stuff with the newest version), don't know if that one is as important as 194.

I reverted it back to original files for now, FLhook disco process manager kept restarting the server so i will get to it later tonght when theres less players trying to play.

I have each file sectioned off (194 bin, 194 flplugin, 195 flplug in and 196 bin, question though, since 194 flhook gets replaced by 196 flook files, do i really need to include 194s? Im assuming no but since no one else mentioned it...

The funny thing is that all works perfectly on my test server.

I think the 194 is the most important one, since its a rebuild of all of them, to make sure "they are all in sync" as Cannon put it.

The 195 just affects the dsasrv (which should replace the one fom the 194 revision) and the 196 just some thing about beaming (which should also replace the one from the 194 reviosion).

Maybe you have to install them with admin rights, or give all users the rights to execute them (look under properties).

Maybe flserver has to be run as administrator for it to work properly.

I'm grasping at straws here.

All I can say is that after installing 194, 195, and 196 in that order made everything work like on the official server for me. When I kept backup copies like base_old.dll in the flhook_plugin folder, my test server also crashed, because it tried to execute every .dll in that folder, so there were 2 versions of the base plugin running, and that screwed things up. Maybe there is one file too many in the EXE of flhook_pluguns folder?

EDIT:
disco486 is installed in my normal user folder (in same folder as the My Documents and My Pictures folder), I run flserver as my normal user, and my normal user has admin rights on my computer. I also replaced thoe dll files when I was on my normal user account. MAybe sometihng was different on CE?

^Lol.
Yeah, i ve already since put them in, server ran fine afterwards with exception to dredds harddrive crashing.

Remember, at the time, you'd only told me about 194 and 196, then the crashing happened - which stopped crashing after i reverted files AND turned off Disco Process Manager (i still think dpm was the culprit and not the files but who knows) - later that night i installed the 194, 195 (by this time youd mentioned it) then 196 files. So, everything was running good.

Trust me, i know far better than to keep two of the existing files in the same folder - lol.

I dunno what Disco Process Manager is, so I assume I'm not running it. That could be the reason. Where can I get DPM?
