Phantoms have no battleship. But they sell bs equipment. Me and DreDD were trying to figure that out. but it's the least important thing as of now. It's very important to the clan members but as of the clan it's self the most important part is becomming a clan. Thank you for all of your time and your help this will not be a waste. The Phantoms were an invite only faction on the main server, and they used ships from other factions not bought on Phantom bases, but given by admins. They used the bombers and Battleships from other factions. I guess you should ask Judges if you want to buy a certain Battleship, if you want one at all. 2 cruisers are stronger than 1 battleship. It will be up to them to decide whether to grant it or not. You would have to have a RP justification how the Phantoms obtained it, like a RP story. EDIT: That's how it was handeled on the server where Phantoms no longer exist now. I'm not saying it will be like this here, gonna have to ask the other Judges for taht. I am in agreement with JUDGE-Grommit about his comment above and Judges will grant you access to a list of ships you may buy. JUDGE-TOLJE can you draw up a draft of ships the Phantoms may have? one battleship, one cruisers and list of ships. |

Thank you for your time guys every one is pulling together and brainstorming. I want to thank Judges and the phantoms for assistance. I did not do this alone. Thank you all. Were do we get the list of ships we can use and when do we get to post on our own threads for the phantoms? :) |

To my knowledge there is no good way to make money as a phantom, just like there is none as a nomad. It will probably be best if you make your money with characters that are independent and not part of the official faction. YOu may want to keep those indy chars secret from other players aswell. There is another difficulty for the phantoms: They have only 2 bases (in omicron 82 and omega 47, pm me if you need the position) and no official IRP allies (at least the official faction didnt). So you may want to choose 1 or 2 factions which are you allies so you can land on their bases. A second alternative would be to build a base in a place that you are interested in hanging out at. It should be well hidden from your enemies though, and near places where it is not too hard to get the materials to upgrade and maintain it. You should keep in mind that if you want a base, you will have to bring lots of different commodities to it, most of which you can only get from factions that are enemy to phantoms. That's one more reason to make trade ships that are not affiliated with Phantoms via ID. I believe it would be fun if you RPed them as "PHantom spies, smugglers, and inflitrators" which use non phantom IDs (while sticking to the rules of what ever ID they use). Or you can RP them completely independent (which would pose some problems if people see you supplying a phantom base with them). Which of the 2 ways you want to play is up to you, of course. That would be the best way to do things. There is one complication to this process is how we will aquire other ships. But nothing is easy as a phantom, this is why I chose this path... |

By the way, I want to thank you guys for using your time on the phantoms. It is critical in our time frame to aquire what ever power we can at all means. We have a new enemy that would like to step up to the plate... So I hope things do not turn south for us but hey... It's all good hehe |

*scratches head* I -think- there is a way to customise sale locations of certain ships server-side. Like make a certain base sell certain things, no matter what was the mod default. At least I think I heard so somewhere. Until that happens, it should be possible to get a lil help to get certain things from Judges, theoretically. Will probably be faster, given the number of cap armor 8 and battleships you are likely to buy. Way to do it would be that if you can have the cash ready to buy things, a Judge could help you get the particular ship. That's probably a more efficient solution than altering ship sale locations so you can buy one of them. Before either of those happens, you need to be able to cough up the dough to actually afford the ships, naturally. I saw you guys training in fighters today. I salute you for that, cause fighter skill is what is going to matter the most in the long term, cause they are the most versatile. Edited by Grommit, Sep 23 2012, 11:28 PM.

Ok so far I found out how to make a base sell any commodity and equipment we want. We could add cap armor 8 and some commodities needed for base building, like food, oxygen, water, basic alloy. Adding all would leave you advantaged over other factions which have to travel long to get the other stuff. Looks like for the ships, it's not so easy. Another alternative to what I posted above would be that you choose one or two allies, and we set the tech compatability and ID-repninja so that you can use their tech and ships and land on their bases. That part is actually easy to do. That would give you access to the ships and gear of those factions. Most factions have a full range of Battleships, gunboats, bombers etc. You using the ships of your allies would make sense IRP, would allow you to get them yourselves, and is easier than giving you separate ships from different factions that you are not allied to, because we'd have to turn the technerf off for all the owning factions. Another info, ANY border world ship is allowed to the phantom ID :D and all civ weapons are allowed...So you could get a bw freighter!? |
