This topic is to talk about different Video game genres.

Here is a list: (prartly from Wikipedia)

-Action games
-Action-adventure games
-Adventure games
-Role-playing games
-Simulation games
-Sports games
---Racing games
-Strategy games

I consider Racing a sub-genre from Sports.

My favorite is probably Racing (with the Wii), Action-adventure or Strategy. I really like the racing format for the Wii, it is like you are really driving what ever you are driving.

If you think I left out a genre, I will add it upon request.

I like action-adventure games, especially shooting games on the XBox and the XBox 360. I also like action games, like SSBB.

I am pretty sure that is what Pokemon would fall under, if not an Role-Play Game.

Am I missing something? Pokemon is a Strategy game with a minor Role-Play touch.

Well, partially. There are some Adventure qualitys in it (it is not like poker).

An adventure game is a video game in which the player assumes the role of protagonist in an interactive story that is driven by exploration and puzzle-solving instead of physical challenges such as combat.[1] The term originates from the 1970s game Adventure[2][3] and relates to the style of gameplay pioneered in that game, rather than the kind of story being told.[1]

That, though cryptic, begs to differ. COMBAT is the key word.

And by Strategy, I mean having to think things out.

Pokemon is also alot like an adventure game. But I see how strategy would be a bit more suitable.
