Indie "It" Girl Posts: 1,048 Group: Admin Member #17 Joined: November 25, 2003	Alright everyone, I need some advise/help/background. I went out on a date with this girl on Labor day. For those who don't know what that is...it's a US holiday and we don't have to work or go to school. So...I met up with this girl for Dim Sum at 11 in the morning. We then went Kayaking, for a walk, coffee in the North End (Bostons Little Italy) and then we went back to her place and she made me dinner. (She lives by herself) and I was with her until 11 that night. Nothing happened...no kissing or anything, which is fine with me. What made the whole day weird was that while at her apartment, she asked me about being gay and my out story. Then she confided that she had never been with a woman, but men just "aren't working out" so she feels like maybe she might be gay. She has thought this for a few years. And has slept with men and really gotten nothing out of it. She is 25. Here is the problem. I have never dated anyone who is "unsure" of their status. And I'm afraid that she is just curious and fed up with boys and I don't think that I want to be an experiment...though I am thinking seriously about that. SHe said a few things, and just by hanging out with her, i really got the feeling that she is probably gay, but she also said things like..."Plan A" (aka boys) hasn't been working out, so I thought I should go to "Plan B" (girls)" That makes me Not so sure about this. AND...after our great date on monday, she emailed me to see how I have been doing and to see if my interview went well (I'm interviewing for a new job) and all that jazz...but then asked if we could go out to a bar sometime and meet some more girls! I just don't get it. Why do I get the crazies? So advise, thoughts, concerns, questions? All welcome and needed!

But that whole thing about, "Lets go to the bar and meet other girls."....Maybe shes relaying on you as her portal to the gay world...seriously!!....the only reason this is a possible conclusion is because i had a friend who dated this guy who did that......like to get his foot through the door.... strange but true...

Ask her if she wants to be with you, or with other girls and whether this isn't just some experiment whether or not she is sexually attracted to guys. Oh yeah and one more thing, you totally have to kiss her. It's just not kosher in my books to go a first date without a kiss. I know she's never been with a girl and all but...who cares...kiss her. i can always tell by how I kiss someone and vice versa how long the relationship is going to last. see if she's worth your time. Horrible, Yes. But I was so thrown off by the whole thing. I think I definately need to talk to her. ::sigh:: I hate this shit. I need to have a business card and a T-shirt made that says, "Normal girls only need apply".

Like...if I am her "portal to the gay world" then should I be annoyed or offended? Or really excited and welcoming? I don't know!!! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR....I'm going to go get some dogs and live a lonely safe normal life.

Nan, The Astronaut's Wife Posts: 260 Group: Members Member #18 Joined: November 25, 2003	On the portal thing.....if you take smidge's approach, then its a thing not to be mad about.....if you dont, then i guess you could be pissed Its hard to tell if thats it...but she does have some of the sure-tell portal signs 1. Confusion 2. Attempting to be gay 3. Questions about other gay things (like other people and going out) I guess my sure-tell signs may seem like normal things, but i had no otherway to put it History: My friend dated this guy who had never been with a guy before.....the newly gay one proceeded to have my friend introduce him to clubs and people and everything gay....then dumped him 2 weeks later only to date a friend that was introduced to him during the portal process.... I'm just saying its possible....but who the fuck knows??!! it could just be her approach to the whole thing, with no ill intentions planned.....

I don't want to get involved with someone who is just going to use me to meet new people. She asked me if I would take her out to the clubs so "we" could meet more girls. That can't be a good sign. She wants to go apple picking this weekend and I'm going to test the situation. So I will update on MOnday. Thanks for all the help everyone. Smidge...as far as your "loose" morals, I WISH I could be that much of a slut...Oh...I mean.

Honestly speaking Linz, I would probably never do anything like that. Unfortunately people born on my birthday are reffered to as "overly moral". It's a bitch having morals.
