TV Guest Star Posts: 80 Group: Members Member #69 Joined: April 18, 2004	Okay, so there is this girl that I really, really have it bad for. She is in one of the bands that I help out, so I am always around her. Anyways, I've always thought she was beautiful, but lately I've been getting worse when I'm around her, like I don't know what to say, don't know how to act in front of her, etc. My old roommate says that I "should just jump her bones" (he is very sex deprived), but the thing is, is that I am not like that with people I like, and you would so not know it if you knew how outgoing I am, I mean my ex-girlfriend actually had to jump me, which isn't bad. It's like everytime they have a show, I get the butterflys in my stomach :$, and I get all worked up saying tonight, I am gonig to ask her out, or try to drop little hints, but it never happens, so I am looking for advice on what to do. Please help, I'm starting to go a little crazy.

Ginny, Identity Posts: 729 Group: Members Member #50 Joined: January 10, 2004	ah i say go for it. what harm will it do to work up a conversation and ask for her number. you see her all the time anyways. its not like she can get away from you. ive had similar trouble with guys. you just gotta suck it up and go up to them and be like hey, im (insert name here haha) i see you around here alot....and then like go from there. its casual and wont make you look like a dork in front of her. try it out and tell me how it goes!

And do you know that she's into girls? Or at least open-minded? If so... just go for it. But start slowly. Like, you say you're dropping hints? Well, start dropping hints that aren't so subtle. For instance, after a gig, be like, wow, you guys were really great and you look really hot on stage. Or something. I'm not forward myself so I couldn't like, be forward enough to be like, hey hot stuff give me your number... LOL. But in my single days, I would do that. Like drop hints that were like, not at all subtle. Feel her out a bit.... see if she flirts back.
	And I wonder, is she different? Is she different? Has she changed... what she's about? Or is she just a liar with nothing to lie about?

I have a hard time grabbing the bull by the horns myself, but I'm starting to learn that to get what I want, and that is a woman, then if I don't approach her, chances are that she won't approach me and it will become just a fantasy in my mind. NOW...if she is already someone that you kinda know it is a little bit harder. Especially since it sounds like you are going to see this woman again, whether or not she says yes. But I think that if yo uask and tell her that you think she is absolutely beautiful or something and she still says no, things will be ok cause now she will be more aware of your presence and probably, unless shes not a nice girl, willl talk to you more. I don't know....that is just what I think. And it sounds like you are a fabulous and a little bit shy person. So you are going to come off as adorable when yo uask. Most people who are shy do. So no worries. Goodluck!

We are past the introduction stage, I've actually known the whole band for over a year, and my little subtle hints are extremely subtle, and I'm not quite sure if she is dropping hints to me as well. It's not like a go to the show, oogle at eye candy and leave, I actually help them out with their equipment and all that. She always seems happy to see me, and everytime before we leave to go to our homes, the hugs get longer and longer each time. I won't see her again until the idde of June, so I've got some time to work up some courage. Thanks for all the advice, and I don't think I am going to go for it per say of being blunt nd asking her out, but I am going to drop bigger hints that I know she will get. I will let everyone know how it went when I see her. Thanks again for the advice.

I also am en extremely shy shy person when I'm reallly interested in someone. I can't stop focusing on how stupid the things I say are or that I'm not making eye contact...etc. This is how I've learnt to deal with it (because sometimes people misinterpret and think I don't like them)... I try to find the same little bits of awakwardness in their presence. Once I focus on that, I make eye contact and I'm more confident. Once you've gained that eye contact though...you'll KNOW whether she wants you or not(cause she'll do the sly look away embarassed thing probably too). Oh yeah.....and the long hugs.....take it as a sign put it in your pocket to redeem for a kiss. Let us know how things go SaraHa

I've decided just to tell her how gorgeous she is, and see how things are going to go from there, because I don't always want to wonder what if? ya know? It would just bug the crap out of me. Anyways, I won't see her until later on tonight, so I am going to try to grab the bull by the horns, and not make a complete ass out of myself. So, I wish myself luck, hope these butterflys go away soon, and maybe even get lucky. (Okay, I don't necesarrily need to get lucky, but it would be a hell of a bonus).

So, anyways I get to talking to her just to strike up a conversation and to try and get some of the jitters out, and then we went inside, the bands played, went outside started packing up their equipment, and lo and behold, she has a girlfriend. My heart just crumbled into a million little pieces. I know the girlfriend is a new one, becasue she didn't have one a month ago. So, yeah I swept up my little heart pieces on the floor, got me another drink, continued to load up the equipment, said my goodbyes, and then went home to go sleep. So I am kind of glad that I didn't tell her anything because, yeah, so the first round went bad. So, hoipefullt when I know for a fact that she is single....

Then I realised I misread it, and sighed. Sage, that is definitely not fun. It would be a lot worse if she was in a long term relationship, though. Like Linz says, it would be cool if she realised that she was just waiting for you... fingers crossed for you.
