The problem is that both TV and video recorder must be able to handle the norm. If you play a PAL video on an NTSC video recorder (without PAL playback feature) the picture will be B/W - regardless if the TV is able to handle PAL signals or not, moreover it'll flicker, 'cause of different sync signals used (60 Hz vs 50 Hz) - another problem is that NTSC has 525 lines, while PAL has 625. |
