Males are bright radiant coloured yellow with blue, while females remain a grey or brown. The Aulonocara Baenschi species is characterised by the rounded “Fore-head.” It is often confused with the Aulonocara sp. Stuartgranti Maleri from Maleri island. This is due to similar colouration, but slightly different body shape, both being called the yellow regal.
