CHARLOTTE, N. Aldon Smith Impact Jersey .C. -- Theres debate as to where a driver wants to be in the race to the Sprint Cup title. Brad Keselowski likes the view out front. Keselowski takes a five-point lead over Jimmie Johnson into Sundays race at Talladega Superspeedway, the fourth of 10 races in the Chase for the Sprint Cup championship. Keselowski doesnt care if the rest of the field is gunning for him because he wants to be the hunted. "I dont know why you wouldnt want to be leading. I dont understand that theory at all," Keselowski said. "If you have a chance to be in the lead, take it and run." That makes for an interesting discussion for Talladega, where drivers have varying strategy. Some sit back and wait until late in the race to make a push toward the front, while others arent shy about mixing it up. Its something Keselowski had thought long and hard about before the May race at Talladega, where he defied conventional wisdom to beat Kyle Busch. In doing so, he became the first driver in five races at Talladega to be leading on the last lap and hold on for the win. No driver has wanted to be out front in the closing laps because it sets them up to have the win snatched away by the second-place driver. Because drafting is so important at restrictor-plate races, drivers have mastered the strategy of pushing a car around the track before pulling off the bumper at the last second and using a sling-shot pass to gain position. Keselowski said after the win he had dreamed about the scenario, and he executed it with perfection to create a strategy hes not sure would work again Sunday. "That was probably a one-time thing," Keselowski said, "theres way of beating that." Figuring out where to be and when to make a move is half the battle this weekend, particularly for the Chase drivers. Two-time defending race winner Clint Bowyer said his strategy will depend on how he qualifies, and at fourth in the standings, hes going hard Sunday after Keselowski, Johnson and Denny Hamlin. But Kasey Kahne, who is sixth in points, said he hasnt yet figured out what hell do beyond chasing points. "You definitely need to think about it and try to figure out what you feel is best for yourself, for the team, and just trying to get all the points that we can," Kahne said. "What Ive done the past two, three years is just tried to race and stay out front, as close to the front as possible. Its hard to sit in the back and just kind of sit back there, relax and wait until 10 laps to go." Johnson has yet to finish a plate race this season. The five-time champion was collected in an accident on the second lap of the Daytona 500, suffered an engine failure at Talladega in the spring and was in yet another accident at Daytona in July. So he hast no idea whats going to be the best strategy Sunday, or where he wants to be in the field for the bulk of the race. "It definitely is the one track in the Chase Ive kind of been a little concerned about," he said. "There are so many things that are out of your control. I think the odds are in our favour to be able to finish one of these restrictor-plate races this year. At least I hope so." Johnson was only half-kidding when he said he wanted NASCAR to drop Talladega from the Chase, but Daytona 500 winner Matt Kenseth said hes looking forward to the race for the first time in his career. Kenseth has been strong in plate races this year, won the 500 and had a shot at winning both Talladega in May and Daytona in July. Hes looking for some redemption at Talladega, where he was the leader on the final restart. But he got too far ahead of drafting partner Greg Biffle, and it allowed Keselowski and Busch to pass him as those two drivers battled for the win without Kenseth. "I messed up and didnt do the right things," said Kenseth, who is trying to salvage his championship race after three disappointing races to open the Chase. Kenseth thinks it can be a big day for Roush Fenway Racing, which is trying to make up ground in the Chase after a rough start for both Kenseth and Biffle. And Biffle is still trying to win a plate race this year -- hes blamed driver error on costing him a chance to win the season-opening Daytona 500. "The No. 16 (Biffle) and us have been really fast. Weve been able to work together and stayed up front the whole time," Kenseth said. "Hopefully we can do that again and, if there is some trouble, take advantage of that for Greg and I to gain some points." Keselowski cautioned against putting too much planning into strategy for Sunday. "Im trying really hard not to overthink it, the thing is we just have to go out and do it," he said. Justin Smith Authentic Jersey . The Alouettes (11-6), who have locked up first place in the CFL East Division, announced their plans on Tuesday. McPherson completed only two of five passes for two yards this season, but one was for a touchdown. Justin Smith 49ers Jersey . The Twins announced Diamonds decision Wednesday, one day after he allowed five runs in seven innings of a loss to the Seattle Mariners. He started serving his suspension on Wednesday and will miss one turn in the rotation. http://www.49ersfansroom.com/frank-gore-jersey . Rookie Braden Holtby stopped 31 shots for Washington in Game 7 -- the seventh one-goal game of the series. Matt Hendricks scored the Capitals other goal. Tyler Seguin scored, and Tim Thomas made 26 saves for Boston. It was the first time in NHL history that a playoff series had seven games determined by one goal. NaVorro Bowman Jersey . The two-time Cy Young Award winner is still expected to miss between six to eight weeks because of a strained latissimus dorsi muscle on the right side of his back. Halladay will be shut down for three weeks before he begins a throwing program. Joe Staley Jersey . PETERSBURG, Fla. NEWARK, N.J. -- For one game, at least, in the Eastern Conference finals, the New Jersey Devils found a way to beat Henrik Lundqvist and the New York Rangers. After losing out in the Rangers block party in Game 1, the Devils found a solution in Game 2. They forechecked, moved the puck, didnt give the New York defence time to set up, shot quickly and got traffic in front of the Rangers goaltender. It wasnt anything novel. It was Hockey 101, and a better effort than in the opener of the best-of-7 series. Now its the Rangers turn to respond as the series shifts to New Jersey for Game 3 at the Prudential Center on Saturday. "We know the Rangers are going to push," Devils coach Peter DeBoer said. "We know theyre going to come out and play a great hockey game tomorrow. Its on us to do the same thing. So I expect it to be the best game of the series tomorrow from both ends." Both teams returned to the ice on Friday and, of course, continued to tweak their games. "I think both teams," DeBoer said, "are going to take their game to another level." At the least, the Devils need to prevent the Rangers from blocking shots again. New York blocked 26 in its 3-0 win in Game 1, but New Jersey did a much better job in getting rubber at Lundqvist in evening the series on Wednesday. "They do a great job of blocking shots, but the reality of it is that we have to get two or three guys in front and then somehow get the puck through," said Devils defenceman Bryce Salvador, who had assists on New Jerseys final two goals, including the primary one on Ryan Carters tying goal late in the second period Wednesday. "They do it more than anyone. We have to maintain some sort of presence in front of the net. It doesnt have to be a great shot, but it has to get there. I tried to get it to the side of the goal and Carter got to it. If we dont try, then nothing goes in. We have to get the pucks to the net to create second shots." Devils centre Travis Zajac, who was reunited with Zach Parise and Ilya Kovalchuk as his wings in Game 2, said New Jersey was able to apply more pressure the second time around. "The focus will continue to be to get as many pucks to the net as possible," he said. "If we move the puck quickly, we dont give them a chance to set up, so that helps. I think we also won battles earlier in the shift to get to the point where they couldnt block shots. Colin Kaepernick Youth Jersey. " Losing the battles didnt sit well with Rangers coach John Tortorella. New York posted the best record in the conference by winning the little wars all season, and wouldnt have survived two seven-game series vs. Ottawa and Washington to get to this point, had it not showed that kind of grit. "I think thats a big part of how we play," Tortorella said Friday. "Big, small or medium build, we play hard along the boards. Obviously, that was void the other night. So no matter who it is, when youre at this point in the season, youre playing against teams that were playing against, Jersey, and the other two teams playing in the West, thats a big part of playoff hockey. Thats a big part of who we are, and we certainly have to be more consistent with that part." For the most part, the Devils have dumped the puck into the Rangers end instead of trying to skate it into the zone, and the Rangers defence has been quick to the puck. The Game 2 board battles, though, went in the Devils favour and that allowed them to shoot more. Plus, the increased traffic appears to have helped. But Lundqvist isnt so sure. He felt the Senators and Capitals got more players in front of him in the first two rounds. The Devils are just better with their sticks, perhaps. "Jersey has always been good at knocking pucks down," Lundqvist said. "So you have to respect that. We just have to play them hard. I dont think they played more in front than the other teams weve played. But, again, theyre a good team, a skilled team that always, like I said, is knocking pucks down. "Especially in the middle of the ice. If you try to go across or something like that, theyre very good at going the other way. So weve talked about a few things, and were going to correct it and be better." Theyll need to be. The Devils, after all, have won four consecutive home playoff games. NOTES: Rangers forward Brandon Dubinsky, who was hurt in the opening series against Ottawa, skated Friday, but Tortorella had no update on his condition. ... DeBoer said there is a chance that defenceman Henrik Tallinder (blood clot) and C Jacob Josefson (broken wrist) might be ready to return sometime during this series. ... This is the only game in the East Finals with two days off leading up to it. From Game 4 on, the series will resume every other day. ' ' '
