FIVE QUICK NBA THOUGHTS The Conference Finals are here and the best teams deservingly (based upon the Playoffs) are here. Brian Cushing Blue Jersey . The only one that truly (sorry, Lakers fans) was capable to be in the Final Four that wasnt was Chicago and the injuries to Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah did them in big-time. Enjoy the games - should be fun. 1. BOSTON VS. MIAMI (Heat in 6): The Celtics will miss Avery Bradley in this series due to the difficult perimeter match-ups with Dwyane Wade and LeBron James. Hes an impact defender and will be missed. The health of Chris Bosh will be a story every day and they need him now as the quality of the opponent has improved. I look for the Celtics to try and muck it up in this series and make this a game based upon Half Court execution and savvy. Even though the Heat beat the Celtics in the Playoffs last year in five games, if you look at these two teams the past two seasons the games have been quite good and I expect the same here. I say it all the time and Ill say it again, the key for the Cs is Rajon Rondo - he was brilliant in Game 7 in the fourth Quarter vs. the 76ers - theyll need that brilliance again each game for the whole series to have a chance to pull the upset. Ray Allen woke up in Game 7 and hes got to return to form here. If Im the Heat, ride the Big 2 to death and if both have to play 46-48 minutes to do it, so be it. Rest in the off-season. Style of play will be crucial and the pace has to be quickened for the Heat to create the spacing opportunities for Wade and James. 2. GAME 1 (WESTERN CONFERENCE FINALS): Love the Tempo! Both the Spurs and Thunder had extended time off between both of their series and you can see a bit of rust with the turnovers and inconsistent offence. I was actually surprised how good both of these teams looked considering that. The quality of play in this series will improve considerably. After a bunch of Playoff games that teams were struggling to play in the 80s it will be nice to see two teams play in the high 90s and 100s. Terrific match-up. 3. MIKE WOODSON (Knicks): Deserved the extension he got. Good move by GM Glen Grunwald. He did a very good job in Atlanta (look at the yearly W-L improvement and the development of the young roster) as a head coach and deserved another shot. He did a nice job with the group he had. Big personnel decisions to be made here about the Amare-Melo tandem and how that fits and trying to provide the right complementary players to fit what theyre doing. The coaching is sound - now gotta add the correct parts. 4. KYLE LOWRY-KEVIN MCHALE (Rockets): Lowry not happy with the way McHale coached him this season. Lowry, when healthy, is an up-and-coming point guard and played quite well. I like his game. Does McHale get on his guys? Yes. But is he fair? Absolutely. I cant see how if youre a young man who wants to win and have a coach who holds you accountable you wouldnt love playing for the Hall of Famer. I think some of this is the competitive heat that Lowry was feeling from Goran Dragic who played great down the stretch and wants to be stroked and shown a little more love by his coach and organization. Disappointed that Lowry went public with his beef, man-up and meet face to face and square away your differences. Im a fan of him and hope this all gets resolved. I tell ya what, Dragic and Lowry will be a good get for another team on the free-agent/trade front this off-season. Fences need to be mended and decisions need to be made in Houston. 5. SEATTLE: I feel awful for the folks of one of my favourite NBA cities having to watch their old Sonics team (now the Thunder) play in the West Finals. It must be torture for them. Felt the same way for the fans of Vancouver last season watching the Grizzlies have their success in the Playoffs. Time for the NBA to open their eyes and realize that the Pacific Northwest has/can and will support teams in Seattle and Vancouver. Whether it be relocation and/or expansion, it makes NO SENSE to look anywhere other than these two cities. J.J. Watt Nike Jersey . "Its exciting to get a win against the top team in the Eastern Conference," said Clarke. "Definitely a confidence builder for us." Derek Froats and Jamie Lewis scored goals 15 seconds apart in the first period to erase an early 1-0 deficit for the Battalion (5-4-4), who have won three of their last four outings, while Patrik Machac rounded out the scoring with a single goal. Brian Cushing Womens Jersey . A person familiar with the arrangements said Rodriguez intends to make the announcement in Arlington, Texas, where the Rangers start a homestand Monday against the New York Yankees. http://www.teamshophoustontexans.com/arian-foster-jersey . -- Defenceman Kevin Bieksa scored on a power play, Aaron Rome and Steve Bernier added goals and Kyle Wellwood had two assists, leading the Vancouver Canucks to a 3-0 pre-season victory over the Anaheim Ducks on Thursday night. J.J. Watt Official Jersey . The best part for the As? Theyve even managed to creep into the American League wild-card race. Chris Carter and Yoenis Cespedes each homered and drove in three runs, powering the As past the Minnesota Twins 9-3 on Saturday. J.J. Watt Womens Jersey . In a surprising deal about 3 1/2 hours before the game, Seattle sent Suzuki to the Yankees for a pair of young pitchers. After leaving the only major league team hed ever played for, the 10-time All-Star held an emotional news conference and then joined his new teammates in the other clubhouse at Safeco Field.SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- Chris Wondolowski scored twice to take over the MLS lead as the San Jose Earthquakes beat D.C. United 5-3 Wednesday night. Steven Lenhart also scored two goals to help the Earthquakes (7-1-1) extend their unbeaten stretch to 6-0-1 since losing to Houston on March 14. Wondolowski moved past New Yorks Thierry Henry and into the league lead with 10 goals. Wondolowski has scored 44 times since the start of the 2010 season. Justin Morrow had his first goal of the year for the Earthquakes, who overcame an early score from Uniteds Dwayne De Rosario and second-half goals by Daniel Woolard and Hamdi Salihi. D.C. United (4-3-3) snapped a seven-game unbeaten streak. Uniteds defence looked suspect without injured centre backs Emiliano Dudar and Dejan Jakovic, and San Jose took advantage by scoring three goals in the first half in the space of 12 minutes. Lenhart opened San Joses scoring in the 19th minute by walking onto a blocked shot of teammate Tressor Moreno and slashing the ball home from 119 yards to tie the score at 1-1. Andre Johnson Pink Jersey. Wondolowski got on the board two minutes later, cashing in from just inside the penalty spot after a flurry of quick passes by San Jose. Morrow extended the Earthquakes lead to 3-1 in the 31st minute with a shot that caromed off D.C. midfielder Danny Cruz, leaving goalkeeper Joe Willis little chance. Wondolowski scored again in the 64th minute, overpowering Willis with a header off Steven Beitashours cross, giving Beitashour five assists this year. Woolard scored on a diving header in the 64th minute to pull United to 4-2. Lenhart closed out his day by chesting home the rebound of Marvin Chavezs ringing shot off the crossbar in the 74th minute to restore San Joses three-goal lead. Salihi closed the scoring in the 88th minute after he took a lead pass and flipped his shot over San Jose goalkeeper Jon Busch. De Rosario put D.C. up in the eighth minute with a steaming shot from nearly 30 yards, but Uniteds defence simply wasnt up to the challenge. ' ' '
