(Sports Network) - A month-long slump has put the Maple Leafs chances of ending their six-year playoff drought in serious trouble. Nate Washington Jersey . It also led to a change on the bench Friday. Toronto hits the ice one day after the firing of head coach Ron Wilson hoping to get its postseason chances back on track as it visits the rival Montreal Canadiens. The Maple Leafs, who havent qualified for the postseason since 2004, held the Eastern Conferences eighth and final playoff seed on Feb. 7, but Toronto has dropped 10-of-11 games since to fall five points out of a postseason berth. Toronto has lost six in a row (0-5-1) since its last victory on Feb. 15 in Edmonton. It is the longest slide for the Leafs since an eight-game losing streak from Oct. 28-Nov. 13 of last season and caused general manager Brian Burke to fire Wilson and replace him with former Anaheim Ducks head coach Randy Carlyle. Wilson was hired by Toronto on June 10, 2008 and went 130-135-45 in 310 games with the club. "This was not an easy decision for me to make," said Burke. "I want to thank Ron for all of his hard work and dedication to our organization over the past four seasons." The 55-year-old Carlyle spent seven seasons as the head coach of the Anaheim Ducks before getting fired earlier this season after a 7-13-4 start. He posted a 273-182-61 record in 516 regular-season contests with Anaheim and led the franchise to its only Stanley Cup championship in 2007. Montreal, which is last in the East and five points behind Toronto, has not fared well in recent weeks either, losing seven of its last nine trips to the ice. The Canadiens are coming off a win, however, as they posted a shootout triumph Thursday against Minnesota to end a stretch of five straight regulation losses. Two of the biggest rivals in all of professional sports, the Leafs and Habs have split four meetings this year. Montreal has won the last two encounters and posted a 5-0 rout in Toronto when the clubs last met on Feb. 11. Carey Price made 32 saves to record the shutout for the Canadiens. Toronto has won the last two and four of six in Montreal. The Maple Leafs have surrendered a whopping 26 goals during their six-game slide and are coming off Wednesdays 5-4 regulation setback in Chicago. Toronto led the game by a 3-2 score after 20 minutes, but the Leafs didnt score again until Mike Brown made it a one-goal game with just four seconds left in the final period. Joffrey Lupul had a goal and an assist for Toronto, while Jonas Gustavsson was charged with four goals on 34 shots. "It was tough, we had the bounces going against us tonight," said Gustavsson. "I mean, we got those three to start, but I let in some shots. Tough one to lose tonight." Toronto has lost five of its last six road games and is 13-16-2 as the guest this season. The Canadiens earned their first win since Feb. 17 by posting a 5-4 victory against the visiting Wild. David Desharnais scored in the second round of the shootout to lift Montreal to the victory, It wasnt a pretty win, however, as the Habs led 4-1 midway through the third period only to allow Minnesota to send the game to overtime by scoring three times in the final 3:53 of regulation. Desharnais had a goal and two assists in regulation, while Max Pacioretty and P.K. Subban each added a tally and a helper for Montreal. Lars Eller also lit the lamp for the Canadiens and Carey Price made 26 saves in the win. Desharnais has scored in three straight games and has six points (3 goals, 3 assists) over that stretch. He is leading Montreal with 50 points this season. "Lately Dave (Desharnais) has come up huge and thats why we won this game. Dave is probably the best player Ive ever played with. Hes proven that the more people doubt him, the better he is," Pacioretty said. Montreal had lost four straight on home ice prior to the win over the Wild. The Habs are just 12-14-8 as the host this season. Jake Locker Womens Jersey . The Senators have a respectable 10-9-1 record on the year, but they have been anything but consistent. Ottawa lost three in a row prior to a six-game winning streak from Oct. 20-30 and then lost five straight before recording the recent victories in Toronto, Calgary and Edmonton. Chris Johnson Jersey . Cutler and Marshall looked sharp from the start, and the Chicago Bears beat Robert Griffin III and the Washington Redskins 33-31 in a preseason game on Saturday night. http://www.tennesseetitansjerseyonsale.com/jake-locker-jersey . Its the first crash this week on Indys 2.5-mile oval. Clauson completed the first three laps of his four-lap run and was starting the final lap when his car bobbled going through the first turn. Kendall Wright Womens Jersey . Pearson, 19, has played the last two seasons with the Barrie Colts of the Ontario Hockey League. He was named to the OHL Second All-Star Team at the conclusion of the 2011-12 season after recording 91 points, 37 penalty minutes and a plus-21 rating in 60 regular season games. Chris Johnson Youth Jersey (Sports Network) - The Cincinnati Reds are on the verge of their first National League Championship Series since 1995, and they have a replacement pitcher going for them in Game 4 of the NLDS against the San Francisco Giants. Johnny Cueto left Game 1 with an oblique strain that will likely keep him out the rest of this series. The injury is apparently so bad that he wont pitch in the next series, meaning the Reds added Mike Leake to the roster and he will start on Wednesday. Leake is 3-0 with a 0.77 ERA over his last three starts against the Giants and gave up one run and nine hits during a complete-game victory June 29 in San Francisco. He was 8-9 with a 4.58 ERA overall this season. Reds starter Homer Bailey, who was brilliant in the Game 3 loss, may have spilled the beans on Tuesday. "We still have a lot of confidence going into tomorrows game," Bailey said. "You know, Leakes starting tomorrow, and we have a lot of confidence in him." Or Dusty Baker could go with Mat Latos on three days rest. Latos came on in relief of Cueto in Game 1 and pitched well, but has been dealing with the flu. San Francisco, meanwhile, turns to lefty Barry Zito, as it tries to once again stave off elimination. Zito enjoyed a bit of a resurgent 2012, going 15-8 with a 4.15 ERA. The Giants won each of his final 11 starts and Zito compiled a 7-0 record and 3.92 ERA over that span. "This is more a case with rewarding Zito with how hes been pitching and the job hes done," Bochy said. "I think hes earned this." In seven career postseason outings, Zito is 4-3 with a 3.25 ERA, but hasnt appeared in the playoffs since 2006 when he was with Oakland. Zito has faced the Reds 12 times (11 starts) and is 3-5 with a 6.25 ERA. In six starts at Great American Ball Park, he is 0-2 with a 6.10 ERA. "Theyre tough one through nine," Zito said of the Reds. Matt Hasselbeck Jersey. "They even have some pitchers who can swing pretty well. You just cant let down even for one pitch, especially in this ballpark. You just have to live moment to moment, pitch to pitch, and not get ahead of yourself." San Francisco kept its season alive on Tuesday, as Buster Posey scored on third baseman Scott Rolens two-out error in the top of the 10th inning, and the Giants eked out a 2-1 win. San Francisco entered the 10th with only one hit, a two-out single in the sixth by Marco Scutaro off Bailey, who struck out 10 and walked one over seven frames. "Homer was lights out," Baker said. "Thats the best Ive seen Homer. I didnt see his no-hitter (Sept. 28 at Pittsburgh) because I was in the hospital. Hes getting better and better and thats what we had hoped." Reds reliever Jonathan Broxton (0-1) gave up back-to-back singles to Posey and Hunter Pence in the fateful 10th before fanning Brandon Belt and Xavier Nady. Posey then scored when Rolen bobbled a chopper and Joaquin Arias beat the throw to first base. "It was a tough play," Baker said. "The ball came up on him at the last minute. This guy is one of the best. You got to give the base runner credit for hustling down the line at the same time. Most guys, theyre out on that ball. That was just a series of bad events." Ryan Hanigans passed ball had allowed the Giants catcher to get to third. Sergio Romo (1-0) secured the win by tossing his second straight 1-2-3 inning. History still appears to be on the side of the Reds, who havent lost more than two straight home games all season. Also, there have only been four teams to rally back from an 0-2 deficit and never has it happened in the NL. Cincinnati won four of its seven regular season matchups with the Giants this past season.
