 Issue 29, July 17th, 2012 Caprecia celebrates 5 year anniversary  This month Caprecia celebrates its 5th anniversary since its founding on July 29th, 2007. Most regions seldom last a year upon creation, and far fewer regions last 5 straight consecutive years, so one can’t blame celebrations on this significant achievement in the regions history. Despite the milestone reached, his foundership, Dom, had stated that there was no need for anniversary celebrations on that day, instead an official acknowledgement of the anniversary will serve sufficiently. Caprecia holds a rich history that can be traced right back to its initial founding. To start, Caprecia was actually founded prior to July 29th 2007 however there are disputes as to what day the region was established first. The Founder recalls faintly that the first actual day of Caprecia's founding was on June 16th 2007, however some put that day sometime at the beginning of July 2007. Due to conflict concerning the founder with nations outside of Caprecia, the region and all residents within it, around 20, were suddenly ejected. Some put this date at the 27th of July. The region was then refounded on July 29th and the nations were requested to return along with an apology from the founder, it is speculated that only 10 nations returned after. The founder does not consider July 29th as the day of “refounding”, instead in his view and the view of Caprecian culture, Caprecia was only truly given birth as a region that very day. Caprecia initially established a forum shortly after its founding however that forum was mysteriously deleted and it is unknown today who was the culprit, the founder did not hold root admin and was not the original creator of that forum himself. On September the 20th, 2007 the founder established a new forum himself, and it has been the same forum ever since. Caprecia has maintained the same flag since its very first founding, it was designed by the founder himself and it is unknown when exactly the flag was first officially established as that of the region. The flag represents the eternal golden hawk and the 12 stars representing the 12 founding members of the region, although it is not stated who they are aside from the Founder himself. The founder has not established the exact meaning to the name “Caprecia” given to the region, however the founder speculates that it may have been named after the word “Cape”, the Founder was born in the City of Cape Town, South Africa. The name is often assumed to be that of French or Spanish origin, although the founder has denied such. While Caprecians celebrate their regions milestone this month, many will also be looking back to the events that carved the region to what it is today. Caprecia may not be the largest region in NationStates or even the most active, but she has rightfully earned her place in this games history.
