I thought it would be a good idea to put myself up for questioning, I am a long term Conservative party member, have been an activist for a while and will be standing in the local elections here in 2011.

Now of course I am biased and hope we give a thrashing to Brown ans his cronies at the general election but I am quite happy for you to ask me any questions about the Tory party or British politics in general and i'll answer to the best of my knowledge!

We tories are a strange bunch ;P

I am a Conservative Party supporter also, and I hope Cameron is the UK's next Prime Minister and that the Tories destroy Labour this year. My sole problem with the party is its stance on Europe, as in they need any kind of policy. Right now the Tories seem to hum and har over Europe while giving no definite policy. Ideally, I'd like them to pull hard to the Eurosceptic side, maybe an alliance with UKIP would one day be possible and the Eurosceptic right would be united in the UK.

As for the rest of their rather weak policies, they need to harden up. Its only months before a general election and as things stand we'll get a hung parliament where liar Brown and clueless Clegg will form a coalition denying the UK the goverment it NEEDS to break out of Labour's policies of swelling government and curtailing of civil rights. <_<

Labour's policies include: trials without juries for the first time in 350 years, more CCTV cameras than the People's Republic of China (1 camera for every 4 people, essentially 1 per average home), a database to store every text and email sent to and from any phone in the UK, ID cards that will contain biometric data that shall make idenity theft easier, ironic given what it's suppost to achieve, and we already have passports and driving licences(!!).

Labour granting police stop and search powers (using the "terrorism" excuse) that were extremely intrusive to personal privacy that the High Court ruled illegal. Promising us a referendum on any and every European treaty, before taking that back and Blair bargaining away our rebate. Misleading of Parliament with the War in Iraq and then, through their use and abuse of white, working class votes, Labour have now, through disenfranchisement, encouraged those people to vote BNP. Lastly and best of all, there's the curtailing of our freedom of speech, with Labour making it an offence to say anything that they haven't pre-approved. Lastly: 4,100 new laws and offences passed since May 1997, the equivalent of 1 new law for every day that Labour has been in office.

No "government" in the UK has ever been so insistant to run every area of our lives. No "government" of the UK has ever been so insistant to spy on its own people. No "government" has frankly been so deceitful, corrupted and incapable as this one.

The conlusion is simple: Labour doesn't work!

[/rant] <_<

That said, I hope the Tories are much better, we all remember Major's time in office... Rather Major than Brown though... Hmm, anybody else think we should just start again? :P
