We need to all have a talk. And yes, this is serious, but it won't be a long essay thing.

Look, we're all in a state of distress here everyone. You may not think so, but under the surface we are all hurting in some fashion to the point that it isn't even funny. We're clearly trying to work ourselves out and that's always a challenge, especially after the summer we've had.

We all need to sort things out. I don't want to be a tyrannical Admin anymore. I already do that at a club and I'm already President of another club due to the old President slowly losing his mind and his will to live. I'm already deep in social crossfire and-

The point is, this isn't working for me anymore. My feelings for this place are dying, and I am trying to find some way to make them survive. Despite our differences, we all know that if we can't find some way to have a middle ground or some way to act like adults, we will not last much longer.

So... let's talk this out folks. Let's find a middle ground, a way to talk about things without me or anyone else having to treat you all like you're five. I am asking you all to just drop the rhetoric, the mudslinging, just... let's drop it all for a few days and just figure out what we're going to do about this issue right here, right now.

Can we have this discussion? Or am I wasting my time? If you feel we can have this discussion, feel free to kick us off with this question...

How can we learn to treat each other with a bit more respect and make this a safer environment for everyone?

Yes, I have a question.

What? I'm quite confused as to what's apparently going on. All I did was receive a PM and went to class today.

Spur of the moment decision given the recent changes in my life. I've decided that if we can't act like adults and actually discuss ways to talk to one another without being complete douchebags to each other, then there's nothing more I can do and there's no way I will be able to handle it.

My point is this. We need a fundamental change in the way we get into our OOC debates, how we talk to one another, and how we treat one another. All of us.

ALL OF US. I can not emphasize that we are all at fault and that we must work together to fix this. If we can't, I don't think I can continue to do things in Oracia.

One thing that would help is avoiding personal name calling and also not taking things so sensitively when we do actually have debates. We need to remember if a person disagrees with your say gun stance it isn't a slight on you its a disagreement on a view that would certainly help things. Also maybe sometimes personal circumstances mean we might say something we don't know has hurt people in that case rather than arguing over the chatango just say something like lets talk over skype , pm or personal and explain why you are hurting as then it helps talk things over and not get too heated.

Another thing I've noticed is if its just one person being offended they want the discussion sometimes to stop when the answer is to take 5 minutes and let the ones interested in the debate continue(if that is a majority).

Well said. Brum took the words right out of my mouth.

Name-calling and insults are the biggest problem and they need to go away, permanently. Honestly, I think the admins have been a bit too tolerant with violations of the OOC rules of conduct, which has led people to think that they can get away with anything. In short, there is a complete breakdown in order around here. Personally, I believe that the admins need to be more strict about the OOC rules. If it comes down to name-calling and insults, there should be sanctions. If people won't have the carrot, then its got to be the stick.

Also, Ikar, if you're in a position where managing this forum is becoming too much for you, feel free to ask me for help. I'm not very active, due to RL issues, but I will help in any way I can. Feel free to contact me via Skype for anything you need.

While I personally ain't affected too much by the bickering, it certainly seems to be causing serious problems. I'm gonna have to agree with Carp in saying that admins need to step in to stop the bickering and insults with a heavier hand if we want to send a message.
