High ranking generals involved in nuclear program resign, apologizes to Sakamoto victims with dogeza! by Ryoma Kiyoteru ![]() The generals apologizing to victims of the nuclear disaster in Sakamoto with a dogeza. Today the generals involved in creating the nuclear program held a press conference in the still-ruined city of Sakamoto. During the press conference the generals resigned from their positions, officially ending their military careers. They further took the step of apologizing through a dogeza, in which a person kneels to the ground and bows to the point that ones forehead is either touching or nearly touching the floor. In modern Akitian culture, a dogeza signifies a deep apology and that a person feels shame for what happened. It is such a huge apology that it is rarely done by normal people, let alone people with a high status such as generals or government officials. "It was never my intention to cause the calamity that befell Sakamoto" said General Sasaki, now a former army general and one of the people instrumental in coming up with the nuclear program "I contributed to the disaster by being one of the people who came up with the entire idea of a nuclear weapons program in the first place. Because of that I am responsible for the disaster. For that I express my sincerest apologies." "I cannot bring back the dead, as much as it is something that I wish I could do." said General Jiro Ninomiya, now a former air force general and another person instrumental in coming up with the nuclear program "An apology is the least I can offer the victims of the disaster." "At first I thought it was a good idea, now I see that I was wrong. I was horribly wrong." said Admiral Ryoma Kudo, a former navy admiral and another person instrumental in the nuclear program "Now, I am responsible for what may be one of the worst disasters in Akitian history. For that, I must apologize from the deepest part of my heart." How the Akitian public will react to their apologies remain to be seen, but at the very least it can be said that the people who came up with the idea for a nuclear program now deeply regret their decision. Following threats, Akitsu designates "Soldiers of Ketiv" to be a kikenshukyoudantai! by Shinji Matsumoto Following threats against Akitsu, the Goldecian organization that goes by the name "Soldiers of Ketiv" has been designated by the Akitian government to be a kikenshukyoudantai (危険宗教団体) or "dangerous religious organization". The designation will not prevent the "Soldiers of Ketiv" from conducting peaceful activities, but will put any branches fo the group operating in Akitsu under strict surveillance. The designation also mandates that the group, if they are to continue peaceful operations in Akitsu, declare any property they own and report their membership count within Akitian branches to the Akitian government. Akitian branches of the group may be fined if they fail to comply with the law. Repeated violations may see leaders of the Akitian branches of the group arrested. The "Soldiers of Ketiv" are only the second group to have been designated as a kikenshukyoudantai, the first group being the cult going by the name of Shinkaikyo. The law that created this was carefully crafted in order to prevent it from infringing on the rights of people to peacefully practice a religion, while at the same time allowing the government to take action against violent religious groups. The Soldiers of Ketiv have yet to react to this news, however Shinkaikyo has reacted to the news. A spokesperson from Shinkaikyo called it a "gross violation of the rights of the Soldiers of Ketiv", and called on the law itself to be repealed. The government has defended it's action as necessary considering the fact that the Soldiers of Ketiv have threatened Akitsu an the fact that they have conducted terrorist attacks in foreign nations. Kunihide Komatsu, Daisaishi of Kayama no Miya, criticizes Soldiers of Ketiv, states that it is"on the road to becoming a cult" by Ryuji Nakamoto Kunihide Komatsu, Daisaishi of Kayama no Miya, the main Reido shrine in the city of Kayama and outspoken critic of cults, has come out with criticism of the group that calls itself the Soldiers of Ketiv. In a public statement, Kunihide stated that the group was "on the road to becoming a cult". He asserted that the groups rash methods against those that oppose them was indictive of a mindset that wouldn't tolerate any opposing viewpoints. Stating that while the group may allow minor theological differences, overall they expected everyone within and outside of the group to have the same mindset, and he noted that those that didn't were considered the groups enemies. "Though it is hard to say whether or not they are a cult right now" said Kunihide "I will say that their mindset has set them on the road to becoming a cult. We should watch them closely and take action when they make a wrong move to prevent them from going further down that road. This is both for us and for their members." His followed his statements by encouraging the relatives of the members of the Soldiers of Ketiv to try to keep contact with their family within the group. He encouraged them to do whatever they could to get their family members out of the group if they felt that the group was dangerous. |

Akitian Constitution Amended: WMD's Banned in Akitsu by Akito Kiyomichi The Akitian Constitution has been amended today in order to outlaw the production and posession of weapons of mass destruction by anybody within the borders of Akitsu. The amendment specifically names nuclear weapons, but is worded in a way that it extends to all weapons of mass destruction. The amendments were proposed today by the centrist Democratic Party, and received with applause by most members of the State Committee. Barely anybody voted against the proposal, with only 5 people voting against it, mostly members of the Liberal Party and extreme members of the Nationalist Party. When the measure was passed the State Committee erupted into applause, with many later expressing feelings of enthusiam at the passing of the amendments. The Liberal Democratic Party has hailed it as a great achievement of Akitian politics, with the Democratic Party and Nationalist Party expressing similar sentiments. The only parties that seemed to oppose it were the radical far-right parties and the Liberal Party, which expressed concerns as to what this would mean for the security situation in Akitsu. Public opinion prior to the measures passing was strongly in favor of such a measure, with some going as high as claiming that 80% of the Akitian population supporting the measure and 16% unsure about it, with only 4% opposing it. |

Prime Minister condemns Carpathian "overreaction" by Ryoma Kiyoteru | Vernil 25th, 2029 Prime Minister Toru Fujiwara during a press conference in which he condemned the Carpathian government's actions against Batavia as a "blatant overreaction". Recently Carpathia has found itself in a dispute with Batavia, a Caprecian nation known for it's staunch anti-communism. Batavian politicians had made some provocative statements towards Carpathia in response to a developing crisis in the region involving a nation called D'Hara, which has been making indescriminate attacks with WMD's, and has seen Carpathia get involved by bombing D'Hara and threatening the use of nuclear weapons. However, the Carpathian response has been condemned by the Akitian government as a complete overreaction. Representative Viorel Marcu, a member of the Carpathian People's House, is quoted as saying "the Batavian government's borderline obsessive anti-communist stance, has led to extremely provocative and bellicose statements which prove to us that their increasingly unstable and abusive far-right government, can not be trusted to behave in a reasonable manner." Carpathia has retaliated against Batavia by placing them on their "Axis of Evil" list. This cuts off all Carpathian diplomatic ties with Batavia and gives Batavia 24 hours to move all assets out of Carpathia, after which all Batavian assets in Carpathia will be confiscated. Batavian businesses in Carpathia have also been nationalized by the Carpathian government. Furthermore, all Batavian citizens in Carpathia have suddenly found all of their property confiscated by the Carpathians and now face the possibility of being forcible deported from the country. Following a press conference by the Akitian government, Akitsu has joined a number of other government in condemning the Carpathian actions. "This response is a blatant overreaction on Carpathia's part." said Prime Minister Toru Fujiwara "While the Batavians did make some statements that admittedly are provocative, we do not believe they said anything that warranted this type of response." He went on to criticize Carpathia's stance that all Batavian citizens within Carpathia may face deportation, calling it descrimination. "It is one thing to prevent any new citizens from a country from entering your country, or to deport someone who has gone over the period of time they are allowed to stay as prescribed in their visa." he said "It is an entirely different thing to deport a person simply because of their citizenship, without consideration of previous approval given through documents such as visas, and to deprive a person of their property strictly due to their citizenship. Such action represents nothing more than legallized descrimination." However, when asked by reporters if Akitsu would do anything to "respond", he stated that Akitsu would at the moment do nothing other than voice opposition. "We are not in a position to try and force the Carpathians to change their policies." said the Prime Minister "As such, unless the situation changes, Akitsu will simply voice opposition and hope the Carpathians see reason." Kunihide Komatsu's Wife and Son Murdered by Soldiers of Ketiv by Ryoma Kiyoteru | June 4th, 2029 The wife and daughter of Kunihide Komatsu, a vocal critic of cults, has recently been murdered by the group that calls themselves the Soldiers of Ketiv. Kunihide's wife and son went missing a few days ago, causing police to start a manhunt for them. Today, a video of the murder has been sent to AHK. Due to the graphic nature of this video, we will not air this video. Kunihide Komatsu had no comment to say on the situation. Police however have stated that the investigation has been moved from their jurisdiction to the jurisdiction of the Office of Criminal Investigations. Kunihide's wife and son were murdered using what doctors say appear to be a neurotoxic gas. Where the Soldiers of Ketiv got this gas from is currently unkown, and it is one of many things currently worrying authorities. The authorities have stated that monitoring of the group will be beefed up in the months to come. The murder has sparked popular outrage in Akitsu, with many people now demanding that the Akitian government recognize the Soldiers of Ketiv as a terrorist organization. The government refused to comment on whether or not it will do so. Edited by Zabuza825, Oct 6 2014, 12:03 AM.

AHK announces "AHK Song Concours" following OraciVision hit by Ryoma Kiyoteru | October 26th, 2029 ![]() The logo for the AHK Song Concours, in the loop in the top right goes the host city's flag. Following the massive success of Oraciavision in Akitsu, which attained a view rating that was second only to a select few other shows, AHK has officially announced that in the next competition they will hold a competition of their own to decide Akitsu's entry into Oraciavision. The competition will start in late 2030, and will feature one entry from every province of Akitsu. The entry's of each province will be decided by judges. The Akitian public will then vote on the final winner. The official date of the competition is to be determined, and AHK is searching for cities to host the first competition. A few cities have submitted official bids to host the competition, including the capital of Kobara, along with Kitaka and Nishihama. Naniwa on Kazeshima has announced that they are considering hosting it, but the city government has not made a formal bid at the time of the writing of this article. Oraciavision was a massive hit in Akitsu, in spite of the fact that Akitsu didn't win. Akitsu was within the top 10 however, and came in 9th, tieing with Batavia at 57 points total. The winning song was from Arkaus, and the competition is to be held in that nation next year. More details on the competition have yet to be announced, but it has confirmed that Akitsu will be participating again next year. |
