Akitsu willing to accept Aurentine offers for mediation by Ryoma Kiyoteru Aurentina has offered to be a host for mediation in the recent Abere crisis, and the government has stated that they are willing to accept Aurentina's offer. Akitsu recently sent ships to engage in a blockade of Abere, in a move meant to put pressure on the Aberian government to release the Reishi they detained. However, the Prime Minister said that there would be one precondition for Akitsu to accept Aurentina's offer. "We need to know that when Abere goes to the table they are serious about it." he said "As such, the only precondition we put forward is that Abere provide evidence that the Reishi are safe and unharmed beforehand. Otherwise, my administration will not withdraw it's ultimatum." The Prime Minister further stated that until Abere agrees as well his orders for action against Abere will stand and the blockade will continue. He further stated, in response to Abere's rebuttal of Akitsu's demands, that his demands will stand as long as Abere shows that it isn't willing to release the Akitian citizens that have been detained. |

Prime Minister: "there will be no negotiation if there is no evidence." by Shinji Matsumoto After waiting for Abere to provide evidence of the Akitian Reishi's safety in Abere, the Prime Minister has said that he is quickly running low on patience. He further stated that there will be no talks until Abere handed over evidence of the well being of Akitians in Abere, saying that if Abere was serious about diplomatic talks they would have released evidence of the safety and well being of the Akitians by now. Abere has responded that they will not talk until military movements against them are called off, something the Prime Minister said would not happen until Abere demonstrates that the Akitians in Abere are safe and well. Until then, he said Akitsu would consider it's citizens as being threatened and act accordingly. "I have seen no indication on Abere's side that they are going to show us evidence of our people's well being." said Prime Minister Toru Fujiwara "Let me make this clear: there will be no negotiations if there is no evidence." Abere provides evidence that Akitians are safe, yet Abere still refuses to negotiate by Ryuji Nakamoto Abere has released photographic and video evidence that the Akitian citizens arrested in Abere are safe. The move pleased Akitian politicians, but Abere has also refused to come to the negotiating table unless Carpathia calls off it's attacks. The move has been seen by the Akitian government as a betrayal of good faith, and the government has stated that it will act accordingly. "We are willing to agree to the Aurentine-mediated talks" said Prime Minister Toru Fujiwara "but it seems that the Aberian government is not willing to. This betrayal of good faith shows us that we still cannot entirely trust the Aberians. We will leave the door to negotiations open, but we will continue military actions against Abere as long as they refuse to negotiate." The Prime Minister further stated that he is considering expanding Akitian operations in Abere by sending more ships. He refused to clarify exactly what number of ships would be sent, but stated that it would be a ship that would be "strategically valuable" for Akitian forces. |

Akitsu to support Hahklallah with No-Fly Zone, sends aircraft carrier to Abere by Akito Kiyomichi ![]() The IAS Houou en route to join the blockade and support Hahklallah's no-fly zone. The Prime Minister has ordered more actions to be taken against Abere, following their announcement that they would not take part in negotiations. The Prime Minister ordered Akitian forces near Abere to help Hahklallah enforce it's no-fly zone. To make this job easier, he has sent the IAS Houou, Akitsu's only aircraft carrier, to assist with the mission. The IAS Houou is a Houou-class aircraft carrier, with a maximum displacement of 42,000 tons and it can carry up to 40 aircraft. These aircraft are to coordinate their efforts with other nations joining the blockade and no-fly zone, and ensure that the no-fly zone over Abere is completely enforced. "Abere's refusal to negotiate has left us little choice" said the Prime Minister "we must take action in order to pressure Abere into going to the negotiating table, or at least releasing our nationals. The IAS Houou is on it's way to help with the no-fly zone, but if this doesn't work Akitsu will respond with more drastic action. Let it be known that the door to negotiation is still open on our side, even though Abere has slammed their door closed." Meanwhile, Carpathia seems to have started an attack against Abere, with Goldeca believed to be not that far behind. Analysts have said that it may be only a matter of time before Akitsu joins the war against Abere, pointing out how little options the Akitian military currently has. "The Aberians ruled out negotiations, and with this new development it seems that war is only inevitable." said one analyst, who requested to remain anonymous "There aren't many other actions Akitsu can take, options are limited. Akitians should start preparing for a war." Whether it comes to war or not remains to be seen, though even the government acknowledges that there is a huge chance of it. "Nobody should be surprised if it comes to war." said Prime Minister Toru Fujiwara. Edited by Zabuza825, Jul 25 2014, 12:18 AM.

Emergency meeting of State Committee held: Akitsu declares war on Abere! by Akito Kiyomichi March 9th, 2028 An emergency meeting of the State Committee has just been held today, resulting in an Akitian declaration of war upon Abere in a vote that went unopposed with the exception of two votes from extreme pacifists. An official declaration was soon drafted up, and the Emperor announced the declaration of war in the following speech: Akitian declaration of war upon the Kingdom of Abere Citizens of Akitsu, it is with a heavy heart that I make this announcement. About a month ago, Abere arrested citizens of Akitsu without any valid reason. Akitsu responded to the situation by blockading Abere. Soon afterwards, Aurentina offered to mediate the situation. Akitsu responded to Aurentina's offers for mediation by agreeing to negotiate on the condition that the evidence of the safety of Akitian citizens be provided. Abere provided evidence of the safety of Akitian citizens, but refused to negotiate. In response to this, Akitsu established a no-fly zone over Abere. Now new information has come in from Abere. Information that the Aberian forces are using human shields. Should Akitian citizens be used as human shields, it would be a terrible situation. We believe that there is a risk of Akitian citizens being used as human shields. As such, the Empire of Akitsu now declares war upon the Kingdom of Abere. It is shameful that this conflict could not be resolved peacefully. Edited by Zabuza825, Jul 25 2014, 09:24 PM.

Locked-room Murder: Did the Alchemist of Death strike again? by Shinji Matsumoto ![]() The home where the murder took place. The area has been declared off-limits by authorities for the duration of the investigation. A 24 year old man was confirmed to be dead in his home today. His corpse was discovered after neighbors who called him after he didn't come out of his house for an entire week. They called the police and when they broke the door down they found that the man had been killed in his own home. Police have stated that they believe it is a murder from the state of the body. Neighbors have told the media that all windows and doors they could find were closed and locked, an oddity for that person they say as he usually preferrs to keep his windows open with the sole exception of wintertime. Should the neighbors testimonies be true, then this would make the murder a locked-room murder, a trademark for the infamous Akitian criminal the "Alchemist of Death". The Alchemist of Death makes money off of selling plans for crimes to potential criminals, thereby enabling them to commit a crime and "get away with it". He is believed to be connected to countless murders in Akitsu. It has been hard to catch the Alchemist of Death due to the fact that he never commits his crimes in person. Police are investigating the latest murder, and we will update you as we get more info on this story. Edited by Zabuza825, Jul 28 2014, 12:28 AM.

"Solving Mysteries" becomes hit anime: first two episodes rates at 30%! by Ryuji Nakamoto The full-length opening of "Solving Mysteries". "Solving Mysteries", a detective fiction work set in Akitsu during the early Kobayakawa period, has received an unprecidented rating in Akitsu. It's ratings reached 30%, a extremely good result considering the morning timeframe at which it is aired. The first episode received an extremely high view count due to an unusually aggressive advertising campaign by the animation studio that made it, Tenryu Animation. Some critics thought that it was nothing more than hype and that we would all be dissapointed, but they were proved wrong when not only reviewers gave it high ratings, but it's second episode reached an equally high rating. The story of "Solving Mysteries" revolves around Ai Takahashi, a new detective in the Minami Provincial Police Force. It is her mission to solve the mystery behind a murder, believing that the convicted murderer falsely confessed for an as-yet unknown reason. It's popularity has surprised even it's creators in Tenryu, who stated that they never expected this high of a rating. "It is unprecidented." said a spokesperson for Tenryu Animation "Tenryu Animation is extremely happy at this. We promise that we will not dissapoint our viewers and will continue to create equally interesting episodes." Edited by Zabuza825, Jul 30 2014, 12:44 AM.

Government warns that dangerous religious group "Shinkaikyo" has started a massive recruitment campaign by Ryoma Kiyoteru ![]() ![]() Shota Akiyama (left), current leader of Shinkaikyo and Shiko Akiyama (right), former leader of Shinkaikyo who is still revered by it's members. The government has warned the public that "Shinkaikyo" has begun what appears to be a massive recruitment campaign in what appears to be an attempt to bring their numbers back up. Shinkaikyo is responsible for a terrorist bombing incident in Akitsu 17 years ago, killing 15 and injuring 54. The attack was ordered by their former leader, Shiko Akiyama, who is currently sitting on death row for his actions. Shinkaikyo was designated as a dangerous religious group 15 years ago, 2 years after their terrorist attack. Since then they have been under close serveillance by Akitian police in order to prevent further attacks by them. The group in an interview has confirmed that they are trying to get more members, but has denied that it is "massive" recruiting spree, instead claiming that it is nothing out of the ordinary and that they do this every year. However, the Akitian government has voiced concerns, claiming that they have uploaded many recruitment videos to the internet and have gone to the streets in large numbers and have cited multiple complaints of e-mail spam from the group from ordinary citizens. AHK was able to confirm that Shinkaikyo has taken to the streets in an apparent recruitment campaign. According to the Akitian government, members of Shinkaiko has also gone to foreign nations in an attempt to gain a footing there. So far, the Akitian government claims to have confirmed that members of Shinkaikyo have left for Goldecia, Falsea, Carpathia, Margatria and the Pacium Union. The government has said they believe it is an attempt to gain a footing in foreign nations, something that Shinkaikyo also confirmed. However, Shinkaikyo claims that this move is a response to the enviornment in Akitsu. "The Akitian attitude towards us makes it difficult to gain new converts." said Shota Akiyama, current leader of Shinkaikyo and brother of Shiko Akiyama "It is only natural for us to look elsewhere if we cannot find any new converts here." Nevertheless, the Akitian government has warned that Shinkaikyo is still considered a dangerous religious group, and has asked the nations where Shinkaikyo members have left to monitor them closely. Digital currency "NetCoin" launched by Ryoma Kiyoteru ![]() The NetCoin Logo. Recently a group of anonymous programmers have released a program that allows people to send and receive a digital currency they created called "NetCoin". It started a few weeks ago as a small effort, but has since grown considerable. Currently the value of a NetCoin is at around ₭2,000, but is expected to rise as more people use it. According to the NetCoin Development Foundation, the group that released NetCoin to the world, NetCoin was started as an effort to create an alternative currency that is not controlled by any of the worlds major governments and a truly anonymous payment system. Currently people can get NetCoins by using one of two methods. One of them is to buy them via an online "exchange", the other is to "mine" them by running a specialized piece of software on your computer. By using the NetCoin program, known as the "NetCoin Wallet", one can send and receive NetCoins. The person sending the NetCoin's pays a small transaction fee to the NetCoin Development Foundation, in NetCoin of course. This fee is set at a fixed amount, and may be raised and/or lowered in accordance to changes in the value of NetCoin. There are two types of wallets. The first is the "online wallet" which is run by a website (usually not affiliated with the NetCoin Development Foundation) and can be used without downloading any programs but carries the risk of one's wallet being hacked. The other is the "digital wallet" which requires people to download a program from the NetCoin website. NetCoin transactions are stored in a sort of public ledger. However, one's personal information is not taken at any point in time during the transaction, allowing the transaction to be publicly viewable while maintaining the anonymity of the people involved in the transaction. NetCoin as a general rule doesn't appear to be that different from other currencies, with the exception that many governments do not consider it currency as of now. However, there are businesses that accept it as a payment method, and it even has it's own symbol, "₦". The legality of NetCoin was once a cause of concern, as it is used for illegal activities in some places. However, the Akitian government (or at least the current administration) seems to have decided that NetCoins are legal. "NetCoin is a form of payment, like other currencies." said a spokesperson for Prime Minister Toru Fujiwara "We cannot outlaw it simply because it is used in the black market, after all normal currencies are also used in the black market. Anybody using NetCoin should face no legal troubles in Akitsu as long as they pay the taxes as NetCoins are, like other forms of income, taxable." |

Tsukuyomi Games announces development of a sequel to "Lone Wolf"! by Ryuji Nakamoto ![]() The planned cover art for the sequel to "Lone Wolf", "Lone Wolf: Sow Evil, Reap Evil". Tsukuyomi Games has announced that they have begun developing a sequel to the game "Lone Wolf" in response to popular demand. "Lone Wolf" has become a hit in both Akitsu and Carpathia, with it being one of Tsukuyomi Games' largest selling products. The company states that this is a response to consumer demand and that fans can expect the new game to feature improvements from the original, based upon complaints from the original game. The sequel is to be titled "Lone Wolf: Sow Evil, Reap Evil" (Akitian: 一匹狼: 悪因悪果, Ippiki Ookami: Akuin Akka) and will be based 5 years after the end of events in "Lone Wolf". Players will be able to set which ending occurred through a small series of dialogue options in the beginning of the game, and the dialogues of NPC's will change according to which ending was selected. The game itself will feature the same open-world playstyle, with one main campaign along with many side-stories and single-missions, with exploration playing an integral part of the game. The main storyline of the original "Lone Wolf" featured the story of Takeshi Miyamoto, a Ronin who comes across a conspiracy to start a major war. The main story of "Lone Wolf: Sow Evil, Reap Evil" will similarly feature a conspiracy, but Tsukuyomi Games refused to clarify exactly what the conspiracy will be. There will be a variety of side-story's, some of which will tie up loose ends left over from "Lone Wolf", while many others will reportedly be entirely new story arcs. One major thing confirmed was the addition of a new nation accessible to the player. In the first game, the player is able to go to both the Kingdom of Yashima and the Kingdom of Ruma. In the third game, the Kingdom of Alemann will be a region players can visit and explore as well. The exact release date has not been set, but the company has announced that they are working on the game and it will be released on both Tenpu and Thunderstorm. |

Shinkaikyo says they think homosexuality is a "mental disorder"! by Ryuji Nakamoto The dangerous religious group that calls itself "Shinkaikyo" has today released a statement saying that they believe that homosexuality is a disease that needs to be "cured". This is an unexpected move to come from the group, though speculation is rising that they are doing this to try and appeal to the right wing of certain nations. Recently Shinkaikyo has been attempting to branch out to other nations, and it is believed that this is just another part of that. Shinkaikyo previously had no official stance on homosexuality, though it's members frequently showed some biases towards homosexuals. It is believed that they avoided commenting on homosexuality at all because of Akitsu's acceptance of homosexuality. However, nobody is completely sure as to why the group suddenly turned their back on this policy. "I believe it's an attempt to appeal to the more right-wing members of other nations." said Hiroshi Sakamoto, a professor of religion at the University of Kobara who has been studying the cult for a long time now "They are most likely trying to appeal to groups like the Orthodox Salbanists." Shinkaikyo themselves refused to comment on the matter. However, most experts are in agreement that this is an attempt to appeal to the right-wing and religious conservatives of other nations. Ministry of Health and Welfare amends recommended salt intake: raises it to between 3 and 6 grams by Shinji Matsumoto A few weeks ago the Minami Medical University published a research report regarding people's daily salt intakes, claiming that current recommendations for daily salt intake may actually be detrimental to people's health. The research caused a stir among the Akitian medical community and quickly came to the attention of the Akitian Ministry of Health and Welfare, which has amended it's recommended daily salt intake accordingly. The research report by the Minami Medical University claimed that people who consume less than 3 grams of salt a day have a higher risk of high blood pressure and cardiovascular events (such as heart attacks) than those who eat more than 7 grams of salt each day. However, the research also noted that eating more than 7 grams of salt each day also raised ones risk for high blood pressure and cardiovasular events. Minami Medical University was not the only university to release a report of this sort. Other universities from all across Akitsu have come out with similar findings. Minami Medical University's research report had a huge impact because Minami Medical University is one of the five major medical universities in Akitsu. The research was reviewed by the Akitian Ministry of Health and Welfare, which today announced that after reviewing the research they would change their policies accordingly. The Ministry of Health and Welfare has stated that their new recommendation is that people consume no less than 3 grams and no more than 6 grams of salt each day. Previously, the Ministry of Health and Welfare recommended that people consume less than 2.5 grams of salt each day. Edited by Zabuza825, Aug 26 2014, 01:04 AM.

CONFIRMED: NUCLEAR WEAPON ACCIDENTALLY DETONATED IN SAKAMOTO by Shinji Matsumoto ![]() A picture of the mushroom cloud over Sakamoto. Yesterday, the town of Sakamoto in Minami Province suddenly went dark. All communications to and from the city was suddenly lost. Following major speculation, some people near the town reported seeing a mushroom cloud over it. An aircraft that flew near the city approcimately 30 minutes after the blast, and passengers photographed a mushroom cloud over the city of Sakamoto. These photos were shared online, leading to speculation that a nuclear weapon detonated in the city of Sakamoto. Today, the Akitian government has confirmed that this is the case. Prime Minister Toru Fujiwara stated that the nuclear weapon was made as a secret military project aimed at giving Akitsu a nuclear deterrence capability. A prototype of a nuclear weapon was being transported to Sakamoto via air at the time the explosion happened. It is believed that there was a freak accident during transportation that caused the nuclear weapon to explode, taking the town with it. The military and national guard have been mobilized for rescue missions, with volunteers already heading to Sakamoto to provide relief in spite of the lingering danger of radiation. Akitian humanitarian groups are also reportedly organizing relief efforts. The Akitian government has officially made a plea to the international community, requesting aid in this disaster. |

Millions take part in nation-wide candlelight vigil and anti-nuclear protest by Ryuji Nakamoto ![]() The protests in Kobara City. In Kobara City alone it is believed that more than 190,000 people took part in protests. Last night people from all across Akitsu gathered in the streets of their cities to protest against Akitsu's nuclear weapons program. The nuclear weapons program, announced by the government a few weeks ago, was revealed when it resulted in the accidental detonation of a nuclear weapon in the city of Sakamoto in Minami Province. The nuclear detonation is believed to have killed many. Estimates of the number who died in the inidial blast range from 50,000 to 80,000. In response to this, groups began organizing massive anti-nuclear protests via social media. It didn't take long for the Minami Provincial Government to demand an end to the nuclear weapons program. Though no other provinces have followed suit, there appears to be a growing sentiment against nuclear weapons that culminated in these protests. Protesters first held a candlelight vigil in remembrance of those that died because of the bomb. They then marched through the streets demanding an end to the Akitian nuclear weapons program. These demonstrations have occurred in every major Akitian city, with over 190,000 believed to have taken part in it in the capital of Kobara alone. It is believed that millions took part in the anti-nuclear protests nationwide. Numerous nations have offered aid in response to the nuclear disaster in Sakamoto. Some remained silent on the issue of nuclear weapons, while othered expressed their clear opposition to it. Edited by Zabuza825, Aug 28 2014, 04:56 PM.

Nuclear weapons program halted, funds redirected to rebuilding and possible research into nuclear power by Ryuji Nakamoto The government today announced that Akitsu's nuclar weapons program is going to be halted effective immediately, and the funds from the project will be redirected to rebuilding Sakamoto and possible future research into nuclear power. This move comes not long after massive anti-nuclear protests started in Akitsu, calling to the end of Akitsu's nuclear weapons program. The nuclear weapons program, called "Project Dansai" according to the military, caused an accidental nuclear detonation in the city of Sakamoto. The city still lies in ruins. Humanitarian aid from many foreign nations continues to arrive. The Akitian government is taking active efforts towards getting this aid to those who need it as soon as possible. Prime Minister Toru Fujiwara announced the cancellation of Akitsu's nuclear weapons program in a public statement. "It was never our intention to cause this calamity." he said "Had the government known that this would happen I am absolutely certain that this would have never happened." Public opinion has swung solidly against nuclear weapons in recent times, with protests calling for the programs immediate cancelation not being a rare site. This announcement is believed to be an answer to that public outrage. |
