So I'm making a page about awesome animes because anime is awesome and the bestest ever, so here we can talk about what we think are good ones and discuss episodes etc.

So I'll suggest a few good ones.

D-Frag: A guy gets dragged into a game creation club run by chicks, they're crazy gamers and hilarity ensues. By Funimation

Log Horizon: Similar to SAO people get trapped in an MMO, but unlike it they can survive death, and decide instead to adapt to their new world and live in it. A good adventurous anime

Kill La Kill : japan is ruled by a school's highschool president and makes uniforms that superpower their capabilities. A single girl stands up to this as a transfer student in a quest to find her father's murderer. Features skimpy clothing and almost naked chicks fighting with swords 8D

Dragon Drive: A kid who lacks motivation in school is introduced to an underground gaming facility where people play Dragon Drive, a 3D virtual simulator where you fight with dragons, he gets a rare dragon never seen before and destiny finds him to be a hero of an alternate universe.

Attack on Titan is a good one, as is FMA: Brotherhood from what I've heard.

FMA is really nice, also forgot to mention Asura Cryin, its really short, but awesome, demons and trans dimensional machines that require a living sacrifice to function, the sacrifice never dies but is also permanently comatose. really good stuff. too bad its only 13 episodes.

Of course, I've heard that the FMA series you should see is FMA: Brotherhood, since the 03 one passed the Manga and changed the ending and such.

I was just reminded of one by my sister:

Moribito: Guardian of the Spirit is an anime based upon one of the novels of the Moribito series of novels by the same name. Guardian of the Spirit is in a japanese fantasy setting, and follows the story of a wandering warrior and bodyguard who has sworn to atone for the deaths of eight people that saved her life in the past by saving eight people herself. The anime follows her efforts to save the life of Prince Chogum, whose own father, the emperor, has ordered killed. Along the way, they discover that the prince's life is connected to a legendary water spirit whose power threatens to destroy the kingdom.

If memory serves, the anime debuted in the US about the same time as Code Geass (or, at least I saw it around that time), which is a shame, because the overhype around the latter really overshadowed Moribito. In my opinion, it's one of the best examples of storytelling and character growth in anime, as tends to be the case for anime adapted from books instead of from manga, and I would rank it up with the 12 Kingdoms as one of my all-time favorites if...you know...I hadn't completely forgotten about it. The story moves at a reasonable pace, interspersing rich character interaction/growth and world building with just the right amount of action just as things start to feel too slow. The art style is gorgeous for a serialized anime, reminding me more of works by Satoshi Kon or Studio Ghibli than the offensively bright manufactured garbage you'd normally see in anime nowadays.

So yeah. Definitely give it a shot of that sort of thing interests you.

Sora No Woto (Sound of the Sky) is absolutely amazing, watch it

Otherwise I'd suggest Birdy Decode. Really fun and well done series.

So, the new anime season begins, first one I'd recommend is Aldnoah.Zero

People colonize mars, the maritans find an ancient dead civilization, and war breaks out after the martians declare themselves the Ver Empire. Mechas galore and lots of dying, first episode had me at the edge of my seat I suggest this one.

I finally remembered the name of the one I'd been trying to think of today - Amazing Nuts! It's as much a series as it is a collection of animated shorts. The first (Global Astroliner Gou) and third (Kung-Fu Love) stories are my favorite. I can't really explain the plot since each story is different.

Others I enjoyed:

- Paranoia Agent. A psychological thriller about a serial killer. An old one but a good one. And short. Because I'm lazy.

- Ghost Hound. Kind of a murder story, kind of a supernatural story? It's about dead kids and childhood trauma. Another psychological thriller, and also short.

- Mushi Shi. Another supernatural series. Sense a theme? Okay. It's about a travelling doctor, kind of. Not a lot of dialogue or frivolous use of sound effects, so that's nice.

I don't watch much anime at all, so don't take my word for it.

Never heard of Amazing Nuts.

I've seen Paranoia Agent, but its been a while and I don't remember anything about it. I'd have to take your word for it that it was about a serial killer.

Ghost Hound is on my to-watch list.

Mushi Shi... wasn't this one moderately popular? I saw it but wasn't thrilled by it, I wish there was more of an overarching plot to the series...
